Great Keppel Island Holiday Village

Our family recently enjoyed 5 wonderful days glamping at Geoff's Holiday Village on Great Keppel Island. Managers Susie and Nathan are amazing, they made us all so welcome. 🥰 Comfy and clean double bed tents, big kitchen with lots of freezer space for all our food. And so many Island trails and beaches and snorkelling gear provided. We got to swim amongst the coral with giant turtles. Can't wait to return. Thank you for hosting us, the Chalmers gang of 8 😊

This is the most beautiful island I think I've ever seen. We relaxed, snorkeled, and fished. The sun sets are absolutely unbelievable. Water is very calm and warm enough to get in during winter with a beautiful backdrop of mountains from the mainland. The resort village has a very chill and easy going vibe. We made some friends and will definitely be back. This is the type of island that is hard to find back in the States ie low key and not overrun with tourists, enjoy it while you can! This is our first visit from the USA and can't believe we got to spend time on this precious gem of an island.

Accommodation is basic but that is all you need - very clean and tidy. So relaxing to be able to have a meal and drinks whilst drinking in the ocean vista. Snorkeling wasn't that great but there had been rain the previous week so water was a bit murky due to this event.

We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it! The current manager (I think they rotate every few months) is so warm & welcoming - she would have to be the “star” of the show at the holiday village! There’s a kitchen so you can cook all your food on site, free snorkel gear and the overall vibe is calm & friendly. Highly recommend!!

The clamping tent was spacious comfortable and set amongst tropical garden. Facilities easy to use. Walking distance to beautiful beaches marine life amazing. Staff at great keppel village were just great!

Lovely eco village tucked away on GKI. Lovely welcome by both Ben and Rach - very personal (thank you). We stayed in a cabin which had ‘everything you need and nothing you don’t’. The communal area included hammocks and a fire-pit where guests and hosts gathered at night to chat. Laid back vibe - perfect spot to explore the island. Close to other facilities if you wanted to grab some lunch or dinner. Personally, I liked the no smoking, low alcohol, guidance - it was a very peaceful and friendly place to be. I wish we could have stayed for a few more days as we only scratched the surface of the island’s walks and beaches.

Lovely place to chill and relax - definitely more suited to young people/families - not somewhere for older people or anyone with disabilities. It is looking a little tired and in need of an upgrade - to be expected after the neglect that would have occurred during the Covid outbreaks. Staff were, on the whole, lovely and very friendly - seemed to be mainly foreign backpackers and it's good to see them back in Australia enjoying what we have to offer. Food/drinks - had everything that you needed.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! If crystal waters, Great Barrier Reef snorkeling, back to basic beach happiness is your vibe, you’ll love this place! We are back for our 5th holiday here and it’s become our bi-annual escape with friends and living the dream. The Holiday Village is really all you need, awesome Glamp tents, kitchen and bathrooms, set behind the dunes amongst the trees. Geoffrey is an amazing host and really looks after you and the Village.

Well there's not many places you can stay in a self contained cabin on asn island for $220 a night. Dolphin Cottage &great keppel holiday village was awesome, we loved our 5 days here. The cabin itself had 2 bedrooms with a comfy queen bed in each, kitchen had all equipment (note:no microwave or salt and pepper/tea and coffee etc, so bring your own)..we grocery shopped in Rockhampton and brought bags over on the ferry-easy. Don't go expecting fancy, but the cottage is actually better than the pictures. Geoff and the crew are awesome and the little extras make it great value- bonfire at night, geoff took us out on his boat for some snorkelling, and the island was so quiet. Swam in June in the middle of the day and did lots of hikes. Can grab burgers next door at Tropical vibes and had dinner/brekky/cocktails/coffee next door at Hideaway, but we were so glad we stayed at the Holiday Village.
