The service was superb, and the environment was beautiful. Waking up to birdsong in the morning was delightful! The room had my favorite Republic of China-era American style, and being by the riverside, enjoying a coffee on the balcony was so comfortable.

The location is unbeatable – right in the city center, yet surprisingly quiet. You step out and you're right by Rong Lake. The building itself is also part of a Republican-era white mansion, and the decor and furnishings really capture that old Shanghai charm. The front desk staff were warm and polite. A hotel I absolutely loved! It's beautifully situated right on the Banyan Lake, and conveniently, Bai Chongxi's former residence is right next door. The hotel's collection and decor are incredibly tasteful. Breakfast the next morning was also delicious 😋 Everything was just perfect.
