HuanqiuyuzhoulvxingjiaHotel Ohla Barcelona boasts an excellent location in the heart of downtown Barcelona, just a few minutes' walk from Plaça de Catalunya, Palau de la Música Catalana, Casa Batlló, and Passeig de Gràcia, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The hotel's hygiene is impeccable, and its decor is luxurious, with a highly artistic design evident in both the restaurant and the lobby. The staff are attentive and enthusiastic, very proactive, and pay great attention to detail. Upon arrival, we were greeted with complimentary champagne, tea, and iced drinks. The breakfast is high-class, offering champagne, salmon, premium jamón, as well as Chinese pan-fried and steamed dumplings, and miso soup, all of which are delicious. The rooftop outdoor pool provides a spectacular view of the city skyline – truly a luxurious vista! The only drawback in the room was that the shower's temperature control was sluggish, and the water temperature adjustment seemed slightly faulty. Nevertheless, this is an outstanding five-star hotel!

Anonymous UserThere was a welcome drink, and I was given a Caba.
The room was clean, and above all, the location was excellent.
The shower water pressure was a little weak.
I was charged for the minibar I didn't use, but the refund was smooth.
It's a good idea to check beforehand.

Guest UserOverall, I was a bit disappointed with this hotel. For a four-star establishment, I expected more.
Some areas of the hotel seem a bit dated, giving it the impression of a package tour hotel rather than a modern city hotel. The pool area is decent, but nothing special. The artificial turf doesn't look particularly high-quality, and the pool's atmosphere didn't win me over. Guests often sit in the water with cocktails, which doesn't exactly contribute to a relaxed ambiance.
The lobby and lounge also feel rather cold and uninviting. While there is a bar, it unfortunately lacks a genuine bar atmosphere or coziness. I believe there's significant room for improvement here.
The room itself was tidy, but the refrigerator could be a bit larger. It would be practical if it could accommodate ice or larger drinks.
On the positive side, I'd like to highlight the beds – they were really comfortable and ensured a good night's sleep.
One point that particularly bothered me: the hotel descriptions barely mention that it's located directly next to a highway or a highway exit. Vehicles pass practically right by the hotel. This is less noticeable on weekends, but during the week, the traffic is clearly audible. I found the traffic noise particularly disturbing when having breakfast outdoors.
Ultimately, I made the best of my stay and had a pleasant time. Nevertheless, I wouldn't classify this hotel as a particularly high-quality four-star establishment, and I would likely choose a different accommodation for my next visit to Barcelona. Overall, it was a solid, but rather average experience.

Hotel maniac
This hotel, being new in 2024, is clean and tidy, and the kitchenette is a convenient touch. The food at Amani restaurant was delicious. The breakfast buffet, however, was just average. The downside is that the staff aren't particularly friendly and don't seem to care about the guests. To be precise, at check-in, an employee named Jenia made a mistake and undercharged me. I didn't know about it, but the next day I received a text asking me to pay the remaining balance. I didn't mind paying the extra, but that evening, when I tried to enter my room, my key card didn't work. When I went to reception, I found out they had deliberately blocked my room to ensure I'd pay the outstanding amount. This is the first time I've encountered a hotel that treats guests this way. They could have called me, or left a message in the room, but instead, they chose this petty method of intentionally preventing me from entering my room. The staff just have a cheap mentality. I had to pay card fees twice for two transactions, and the exchange rate was rising. I explained it was a loss for me and asked why I should fix their employee's mistake, but they just said I had to pay. They wouldn't offer any compensation. Furthermore, the gym is small, and they keep all the doors closed, so the air is very stuffy. When I opened a window, they told me to close it for safety reasons. They kept coming to close it themselves. What's more, when I complained about the payment issue, they deflected by giving a ridiculous explanation that the problem was caused by me opening the gym door. When I requested to speak with the general manager, the female staff member I thought was the GM turned out to be just the Executive Housekeeper. We arranged a meeting, but there was no response, and she kept postponing it with excuses about having other meetings. Later, when I finally met her, she claimed she had been looking for me. They could have called, come to my room, or sent a text message. I'm really annoyed by the utterly unreasonable behavior of the staff. They say Tembo means 'elephant' and the building resembles an elephant, which is why it's named Tembo, but the staff have hearts smaller than ants.

Guest UserThis was my very first time planning a solo trip abroad, and I was admittedly quite anxious after paying the full price and then reading some mixed reviews. Since the policy didn’t allow cancellations, I checked in with a bit of worry—but I’m really glad I did.
The room turned out to be pleasantly clean and well-organized. I particularly liked the layout: there are two doors between the bedroom and the bathroom, which gave me a strong sense of privacy and security while resting. Another highlight was the lovely scent in the room—it instantly made me feel at ease and almost like being at home. (If possible, I’d love to ask what kind of aroma sachet or air freshener is used—I’d like to buy the same one!)
During mid-November, the evenings in Barcelona were slightly chilly, but the heating/air-conditioning unit in the room worked well and kept things comfortable. That said, when the unit is turned on, there’s a noticeable mechanical noise—it’s not too loud and didn’t disturb my rest, but worth mentioning.
I also appreciated how responsive the staff were. On my first night, I thought the external shutter in the room was broken. I reported it to the front desk, and the manager quickly sent someone to assist. It turned out the shutter was manually operated by a cord hidden behind the inner curtain on the far right—easy to miss at first glance.
Although the hotel isn’t in the city center, transportation was convenient—there’s a nearby bus stop within walking distance, with easy access to both the metro and Sants train station.
A nice bonus: just a 3-minute walk away is a bakery called Joncake & Wine, a branch of the famous Joncake. Their Basque cheesecake is incredible, and being a branch, it’s much less crowded than the main store. There’s also a small convenience store right downstairs—great for picking up water or other essentials.
One downside would be the soundproofing. The walls and floors seem quite thin, so I could hear voices and footsteps from the neighboring room. It wasn’t too disruptive for me, but worth noting.
Originally, I only planned to stay three nights, but I ended up liking it enough to extend for another three. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations and became a memorable part of my solo trip to Spain.

Guest UserThe location is fantastic, right next to the largest train station (Santa Justa), so it's super convenient for arrivals and departures, taking only about a minute. The decor is very new, and the bedding is incredibly comfortable. They offer 3 complimentary bottles of mineral water per day, and there are free drinks available in the public areas during the day. I highly, highly recommend it for transit stays or for exploring the city of Barcelona.

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the metro station, but there's a bus stop nearby with routes to many attractions. There are also plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and small shops in the area. It's about a 20-minute walk to Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. The room was quite spacious, with a capsule coffee machine and a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary drinks. The only downside was the late check-in time; they said 3 PM, but even arriving at 3:30 PM, we still had to wait until 4 PM to get into our room.

I was able to check in right at noon since a room was available, which was great because I didn't have to wait until 3 PM. Check-out was quick too. The hotel has a beautiful pool and a very stylish pink hallway. It's right by the sea, and the architectural details are full of clever design.

FrequentTravellerFlowerCleanliness: The double we had was spotless clean. I couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the room or the bathroom. The rooms were spacious too.
Location: The hotel was a little far from the main places, if your walking by foot but by car they were all near by. There is a parking space provided by the hotel, which you have to pay for an additional fee. Otherwise you can get free parking on the streets between 2000-0800 or on the weekends. During peak hours or on the weekdays, it’s difficult to get parking.
Service: For some reason when we arrived for the check in, the hotel staff received confirmation for 1 person when I booked two. That issue quickly got resolved when I had to send them my confirmation email and voucher to prove I paid for two adults. The staff were lovely and attentive.
Amenities: The hotel has a restaurant with it, a fitness area. The room had towels provided with it with hot running water. The rooms were sound proof. I couldn’t fault the room. The room was spacious and so was the bathroom.
Downside: When you check in, we had to pay city tax at the hotel. It was my fault as I didn’t read the small print so I was a little unprepared for that. But I would prefer if I had the option to pay that online before hand which I didn’t. The city tax was £4.25 per person per night or in euros €4.50.
