Our family had a wonderful 4-day, 3-night stay at Hotel Lion d'Or in Haarlem! The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps from the train station (70m or less) and a short walk to the charming city center. It made exploring both Haarlem and Amsterdam incredibly convenient. Our room was spacious enough for 3 people (2 adults and 1 child), clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect balance of comfort and modern amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of sightseeing. Staying in a corner room, we even woke up to the delightful sound of birds singing in the early morning—a lovely touch! The breakfast was excellent, with a nice variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day. Also, don’t miss visiting Café De Paris in Haarlem, near Hotel Lion d'Or. The food there was fantastic and definitely worth trying! What truly set this hotel apart was the staff. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. Their helpful local recommendations enriched our trip and made it even more memorable. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Lion d'Or to anyone visiting Haarlem. It’s a gem of a hotel that combines convenience, comfort, and outstanding service. We can’t wait to return in the future!

Easy to get here from Amsterdam Schipol Airport and instant access to the Spinter station of Haarlem. Very convenient location to get around places of interest in peaceful and beautiful Haarlem. Super nice staff, Dirk and the ladies are hospitable. Overall a welcoming hotel beyond worthy of its price. I would recommend 5/5 for backpackers.

Good food, good accommodations, good service, close to the train station and supermarket, convenient.

The hotel receptionist was very nice and let us check in at 10:30 in the morning. The hotel is in a great location and the bed was easy to sleep on. However, the cleaning was not very clean. We paid the city tax when we checked in. Maybe there was no handover when we checked out. You have to charge us again! Remember to ask for details at the counter to avoid similar situations!

A nice hotel, nicely decorated, hygiene was good! Breakfast was well organized and very tasty. Everything was freshly replenished. We will come back again!

Great location, 100 meters from the station. Nice room, beds were good. Two chairs available. The breakfast was good. Tip, make a towel hook in the shower room.

Fantastically beautiful, comfortable and customer-friendly hotel with a delicious breakfast. Really gets a 9.7 from us. Only minor niggle is that the room wasn't really aired out and smelled fresh when we arrived, smelled a bit stuffy. But quickly opened the window myself and then it was fine. Was very clean!
