South Mimms/Potters Bar

If you drive a commercial vehicle please avoid this place like the plague! They have an issue with vehicle break ins which they neglect to tell you when booking. And should it happen to and you report it to reception I can assure they couldn’t care less, the receptionist didn’t even look up when I told him I’d been broken into in his car park awful service Please see photo of my busted lock barrel

I took 40 pupils to this hotel for a school trip to London. I cannot fault the staff, from the chef, waitresses, bar staff and housekeeping. Hotel was clean, slight issue with plumbing when we first arrived however there were 45 of us coming off a 7 hour bus drive going to the toilet. This was reported to reception and sorted within 15 minutes. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night and breakfast 3 mornings. There were no complaints and that was including 40 13/14 year olds. Google says 1 hour from London, our first activity was the Globe theatre due to London traffic this took 1 hour 45 minutes. So I would recommend you leave within plenty of time. We also attended Harry Potter studios and this was about 40 minutes on a bus. I would go back to this hotel both on a private trip and a school trip. I really don't understand the negative reviews. The place is clean, comfortable, has the necessities and the food is nice. I suppose there are always people who just like to complain.

Fab food meal deals, great rooms, friendly staff, great location for travelling to London the next day. Great prices. Communication from hotel great too.

The staff were very helpful and accommodating throughout the visit,we had a large party of adults and children and they managed to cater for all our needs on the Saturday evening in the restaurant

Ideal location,ample parking. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner superb , great bar. All staff very friendly and helpful . Overall another Fabulous stay . Highly recommended 👍👍

I'm writing this message for second time. This was the worst Premier Inn I've stayed at. Been staying in Premier Inns over 20 years. Sadly now, Premier Inn have zero interest in customers or complaints. I had to stay at South Mimms, after Premier Inn reservation team screwed up my booking to stay near Excel London, charging me £284 instead of £160, and wouldn't admit their error, saying the computer never says no. Post Office Horizon all over again. South Mimms was served well by most workers, but duty manager and assistant were truly awful, the assistant saying she would lie for him, if I made a complaint. My room wasn't cleaned, at all, in 4 nights stay. I wasn't able to order food, as no one picked up the phone, and as a type 1 diabetic, I have to eat on time.

Used this as easy access to London and couldn’t have been happier. The staff were very friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. Very clean and tidy On the first evening we have a meal and drinks in the restaurant and everything was great value and tasty, as was breakfast too. Would definitely stop here again

This hotel is really good, better than the standard premier inn. The bed was comfy, the staff were friendly. Veryckean all the way through and a nice bar. We had breakfast which was ok, but no vegetarian option.offered , the beans, gash browns were cold and food very slow to be replenished

Left trousers in wardrobe. Miraculously they have disappeared. Not happy and this has put me off of Premierinn
