The Park on Main Hotel

Everything was great! For a dog-friendly stay, it's one of the best anywhere. The staff is really friendly, room pleasant and comfortable, and location couldn't be beat. Breakfast was just a continental buffet, but the good news was there were no kids in pjs making waffles! We have stayed there before and will do so again.

Outstanding small hotel. Very nice suite with all the amenities, and the private garage parking was just one big plus. Walking distance to the town center and a number of great restaurants. Terrific staff. The best hotel experience we’ve ever had in the USA.

Excellent hotel which caters to dogs and their owners! Cozy, exceptionally clean and located right downtown within walking distance of all types of restaurants and stores. Provides a dog bed, toy, dog towel, dog bowls for canine members of the family. Rooms are very, very quiet. Breakfast is continental style, but a great selection. There’s even a dog park down the street named in honor of their mascot, Mr. Pickles.

The Park On Main at 205 Main Street in Highlands, NC has always been delightful. We’ve come here multiple times with our pups. They have treats and water for them. The Park is impeccable. Clean and fresh, it seems like it opened yesterday. The staff is always friendly. It is easy to walk to everything in Highlands. The Park On Main is our “go to” in Highlands, NC. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing! Traveling solo with my dog on my migration back North and the welcome could not have been warmer! This is an adorable boutique hotel that is super dog friendly! The room was gorgeous, all the little extras like treats for your dog upon arrival and cookies for humans made it extra special. The bathrobes in room were so soft! The dog park behind the hotel is so sweet. But it’s the staff that really put this place over the top! They could not have been more accommodating and kind. I can’t wait to return to this lovely hotel and sweet town in the Highlands, NC someday!

We've been staying at the Park on Main since 2018. It's a lovely hotel, but our latest stay this past weekend was very disappointing. The pricing has gone up over the years, and since COVID the hotel hasn't really bounced back. Prices are high, and while the rooms are clean - the "luxury" part of the stay just isn't there any more. The breakfast food was less than desirable - it was stale and lackluster. There weren't even full size napkins to go with breakfast - only cocktail size. For the price of the rooms this seems ridiculous. The front desk person was also cold and rude upon check-in, and wouldn't check if our room was ready. He had me write down our number on a sticky note and said he'd call when our room was ready. I called the main/hotline number hours later only to find out our room was ready. This employee also had no knowledge of the local area, and couldn't give basic advice on the hiking trail that goes around town (didn't even know what I was talking about). If the price is high, the service better be outstanding and sadly it just isn't anymore.
