Booked the Empire Hotel Hong Kong · Wan Chai during the 9.19 sale.
First off, getting to the hotel from the airport on the A11 bus was super convenient, a direct ride.
The front desk didn't proactively tell me the specific times for breakfast and afternoon tea, only the floor where they were located.
I'm guessing the hotel is a bit older, as the room facilities felt a little dated. There wasn't a charging port by the bed, and there was a vent in the room that couldn't be turned off, constantly making noise.
However, the breakfast and afternoon tea offerings were plentiful and refilled very promptly.

I used to stay in this property when it was Cosmopolitan Hotel. It was much high grade, and better service, better amenities, better service before. Now Dorsett; the decoration is out of date, not very clean, much low grade, and low service. Apart from the location, i wouldn’t stay in this property again. They don’t even provide free bottles water, but they put a re-usable bottle, and you need to fill it from public dispenser. Quite dirty to use the bottle other people used, and it is questionable of the public dispenser hygiene. Also there are stains all over the bed sheets. We left the room with the “clean the room” sign on, when we turn back at night, room not cleaned.

The room was optimally sized , providing a comfortable balance of space and functionality. A larger smart TV was highlight, offering excellent entertainment options like you tube .
The air conditioning performed very well, maintaining a consistently pleasant temperature throughout the stay. A mini fridge was available, though its capacity was limited to a few cans of beverages, which may not be sufficient for guests requiring more storage.Overall , the room was well-equipped and provided a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Had a wonderfully comfortable and highly satisfying stay, offering excellent value for money.
1. **Spaciousness:** The room was remarkably large by Hong Kong standards, exceeding 20 square meters. Beyond the bathroom, it featured a dedicated kitchen and a small dining area. Multiple windows provided abundant natural light, making the space bright and airy. The decor was elegantly cozy, truly creating a home-away-from-home ambiance.
2. **Convenient Amenities:** The kitchen was fully equipped with a microwave, toaster, induction hob, washing machine (with dryer function), range hood, refrigerator, and a complete set of pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery – all perfectly functional and in great condition. This was a huge advantage, as many hotels and guesthouses often have such appliances that are merely for show. During our three-day stay, the washer/dryer was incredibly convenient for daily laundry. We also appreciated the complimentary drinks in the fridge.
3. **Excellent Location & Perks:** The hotel boasts a superb location with convenient transportation. It's just a few hundred meters, roughly a 10-minute walk, from Wan Chai MTR station. Getting to Central or Tsim Sha Tsui MTR is incredibly easy, just two stops each. Popular attractions like Golden Bauhinia Square and Victoria Harbour are also within easy walking distance. While a full breakfast isn't provided, the lobby offers 24-hour complimentary coffee, and from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, guests can enjoy free apples, bananas, and pastries – a thoughtful solution for a quick morning bite.
4. **Friendly Service & Minor Detail:** The lobby staff were exceptionally friendly, always greeting us warmly. During check-in, they patiently explained all the essential details and how to operate the in-room appliances. The hotel also features both an indoor and outdoor lounge area, both tastefully decorated to create a cozy and elegant atmosphere. The only slight drawback is the approximately 20-meter steep uphill walk to reach the hotel entrance. This might pose a challenge for guests with mobility issues, seniors, or those with heavy luggage. However, this elevated position contributes to a very quiet and peaceful environment at night.

Easy access to the Happy Valley Tram stop. Easy check in and out. Room was clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Free shuttle available to and from certain areas. Very tiny for a family of 3. Room was on the 3rd floor next to a 24-hour gym. Nothing to see outside of the window except a concrete wall. Equipped with hot water kettle, toiletries. Access to baggage storage if needed. Breakfast available but we opted not to purchase.

The location is moderately convenient. We enjoy the most is about polite service and the room space. Feel like a cozy apartment. The only thing need to be careful of is the cabinet next to the be; because of the design where the for corner of the cabinet is quite close to a human head’s level, it’s risking to get hit to the head. But overall the staying experience is decent

A clean hotel with a good view of the city across the river/sea.
The only down side is that if we wanted amenities we have to buy it from a vending machine on the same floor that only accepts Alipay, WeChat and octopus. We are not from the mainland and just arrived in Hong Kong so we cannot buy anything from it. By amenities, I mean stuff like mineral water, toothbrush.
Staff comes to clean everysay at about 10am and room was spacious. Did not get food from the hotel so will not be commenting on that.
The hotel is a bit far from the train station but there is a bus stop about 1 min way in front of the hotel that can take us to the train station. It is also walkable to the nearest ferry terminal, about 10mins walk.

The hotel boasts an excellent location. It's super convenient to take the Ding Ding tram to Kennedy Town, Times Square, and Victoria Peak. Regarding dining options, there's a Wah So Cafe a short walk away, and we didn't encounter any long queues there. The room comes with a toothbrush and toothpaste, but no comb. It provides shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, hand soap, and even an electric bidet toilet. Including tax and service charge, paying a little over 600 HKD per night felt like decent value. The shower water wasn't very hot, and the room's air conditioning couldn't be adjusted, which made it genuinely a bit chilly. I'd recommend requesting a room closer to the elevator for a slightly better view. The lobby service was excellent; the staff members were all very polite and courteous.

Beyond its good location and affordability, there's not much else to praise. The Tin Hau MTR station is closer, but the exit towards the hotel doesn't have an elevator, so it's a struggle with large luggage if you have to use the stairs. There's a McDonald's, Fairwood, and tea restaurants nearby, so breakfast outside the hotel is perfectly fine. The rooms are very old, even the executive rooms on higher floors. I only chose it for the price and convenience, so I'm not really complaining about the conditions. You can walk to Don Don Donki in about 10 minutes. Taking the tram (ding ding) is generally cheap and convenient for getting around.

5 Star service from staff. Very attentive house keeping staff. Nice looking lobby. Has a mini fridge but isnt super cold and would store drinks but not milk. Kettle, cups and complimentary coffee in lobby.
Some areas that could be improved: Blue Light next to bed on switches are handy for finding the switch at night but can be bright for sleeping. Bit smaller room but good trade off if central location is key.
Bed is on firmer side and pillows lower for my personal liking preference. No conditioner is provided, only shampoo and body wash so pack conditioner if that's something you need.

Excellent
LLizzy1987I have to comment in person, so that you don’t know, pay attention: no toothbrush, no comb, it is estimated that you have to ask the front desk, the nature of the apartment, you can wash clothes, the advantage is that the view is good, it is very convenient to take the rail car and the minibus 1, but ah, the mattress is really hard, the bed is a bit cheap, I slept with back pain, clean and good, the safety exit lights can't be turned off at night, and the towels are wrapped in the end. I suggest to experience this price. If you don't have money, choose other sea views five-star, the hotel also has a buffet breakfast restaurant! There is no meal here, there is an ice room downstairs, solve breakfast by yourself! The water in the toilet is yellow rust and needs to be improved!

11351497****The location is excellent, right next to Times Square, with plenty of dining options downstairs. However, the room size is quite small, the bed is narrow, and the hallway is also narrow. This is understandable given the prime location in Causeway Bay.
GGuest UserGreat location, Wan Chai station entrance is just a short walk across the street and there’s bus stop in front of hotel. To go to airport, you need to go to another bus stop which is also a short walk from the hotel and most importantly, mostly flat so no worries about walking with your large luggage on slope.
Even though my room was located on low floor and right in front of the lift, it’s not noisy. Bed are comfortable but pillows are too flat/low, needed 2 pillows. Toiletries was not provided due to HK government policy to reduce carbon footprint and the staff does inform during the check in process so make sure to bring your own toothbrush toothpaste vanity kit shavers and shower cap. No bottle water provided but there are water dispenser on 19th floor for guests to fill your own water bottle. Mini fridge and kettle are provided.
Generally pleasant stay with lots of good food nearby.
MM8128****The room was quite spacious and clean, and the location was very convenient, close to Wan Chai station and the waterfront. The air conditioning was very strong; even without it on, the room stayed cool enough for our five-day stay. When taking a taxi, note that you should exit through the back door of the lobby, where taxis will be waiting in the back alleyway. The complimentary bottled water was also very good.
EEliza coutureI like this hotel. The check in was smooth. The staff at the reception was helpful. He helped me carry my luggage since there were stairs going to the elevator. The room was big. Wasn’t expecting it to be this big.
The location is very convenient. Close to MTR, convenience stores, etc.

__WeChat417776****The hotel room was very clean, contrary to some reviews mentioning hygiene issues. The front desk staff spoke Mandarin and were very welcoming. Security was also quite good; you need to swipe your room card to access your floor, so I felt safe even traveling alone. The location in Wan Chai is convenient for getting around by MTR, making it perfect for business trips.
