Cairo Hostels

I ended up extending my trip! Everyone is so kind and lovely. Truly made my stay in Cairo a special one. Having a kitchen to be able to cook was great. Laundry service was also quite affordable. Yoga classes by the pool are offered. Everything was clean. When I come back to Egypt I will definitely be staying here again.

The room is on the 10th floor of a very broken apartment building, there is no sign outside, you can navigate on Google Maps. The elevator is very broken and needs to wait, but after entering the Youth Hostel, I was pleasantly surprised. The interior is very beautiful and new except for the taste of a little newly renovated. You can see the city view in the lounge. The address location is also very good. It is a 10-minute walk from the old Ebo and a half-hour taxi ride from the new Ebo. Staff is warm, service is very good, English is fluent, you can wash clothes (5 pounds each with drying), you can store your luggage, you can buy water (5 pounds in small bottles, 10 pounds in large bottles) The disadvantage is that the room is very noisy, like sleeping on the street, it is recommended to book a twin room and sleep on the one far from the window... or wear headphones, it is really noisy and noisy, but it is very beautiful haha. All in all, it is a very cost-effective choice!

I'm not kidding, I spent 20 days in Egypt, from the southernmost to the northernmost parts, and this hotel was the best I've ever stayed in. It was excellent in terms of cleanliness, location, and price/performance ratio. I recommend it to everyone. The breakfast was also good.

The price of 2800 rubles for a room for four with breakfast is very reasonable, which is a big plus for the hotel. The terrace is cool, and the morning views from it are shown in the attached photos. Overall, everything is not bad, but there are a number of factors that might leave a negative impression, especially on Russian women. The building is over 100 years old, with marble steps in the entryway. Architecturally, it resembles a Petersburg *paradnaya* (grand entrance hall), with the difference that in Russia, they are much more decent and clean. The entryway was dilapidated, everything was broken and grimy, with more details in the attached files. As we entered the building, a rat was scurrying on the first floor, and there was a strong, disgusting smell of waste products, apparently from cats and rats. Upon reaching the 6th floor, we found a similar scene, about a couple of meters from which was the hotel reception. In the room provided, the furniture was worn, the bed linen was dirty and torn, and there was only one towel for four people. Photos are attached. When we asked for something to be fixed, they offered another room with similar conditions. We no longer had the energy or desire to change anything. From the not-so-clean and unironed bed linen that was brought, some insect crawled out, much to the bewilderment of the very good-natured hotel staff. The food selection is quite modest, but you won't go hungry. It's best to come at the beginning of breakfast, as sparrows are actively foraging on the terrace where it's served, pecking at bread products directly from the trays. I suggest the management cover EVERYTHING with plastic lids, not just the cheese, cucumbers, and falafel.

The hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum, The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean. The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them ** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn. Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice

everything was good, the room was clean and quite. the staff members were very kind and helpful, I booked 2 tours with them one for the Pyramids and the other one for the white and black dessert, and both tours were extremely good specially the tour guide Ali.

In general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.

This hotel was a last-minute find, perfect for a short stay after a desert tour and before catching a train. The location is fantastic, and the hot water, even from the rainfall shower, works perfectly. The only minor issue was that the mobile data signal was weak in the room, but using the Wi-Fi solved that easily. They asked for a 10-star review upon checkout, so I'm giving them one, but honestly... The mattress creaked, the air conditioning had a strange smell, and the 'view' from the window was just the hotel hallway. Given the cheap price, I just thought of it as paying for a public bath, haha.

1. The location is quite good, right in Cairo's Tahrir Square, in the city center. It's very close to the Egyptian Museum and also quite near Khan el-Khalili market. 2. The soundproofing is very poor. My room faced the street, and the traffic was quite noisy. There's also a mosque nearby, and prayers start promptly at 4 or 5 AM every morning – it was a killer. 3. The hotel reception is on the top floor, and the elevator is quite old and a bit scary to ride. The room facilities are also quite run-down. However, for this price in such an excellent location, the value for money is still pretty decent.
