We arrived at the motel around 3:30. A note on the office door instructed us to ring the bell. After about a minute the door opened and we were greeted. We walked into the office gave our name and Doug, the clerk, entered everything on the computer. He directed us to our room and then ld us to park in front of it. The room was cozy and there was some noise from the roadway.

We had a lovely time for our 1st time stay! We arrived late so we told the front desk and the made accommodation for us! Beds are a little stiff but over all the view and the quietness in the range is what your come for!! Would stay again!

Very nice little motel right off of 395 in independence. The rooms are sort of like little cabins, including refrigerator and microwave. Well thought out. Not ultra luxe, but a great base for adventures. And that’s the big win of the place. The owner is ultra knowledgeable about the Eastern Sierras. In hiking season, this place becomes a hub for activity from the PCT, Mount Whitney and other big hikes, with lots of fresh intel from other hikers returning or passing through. Only suboptimal thing is not having king sized beds, although the queens are comfortable enough. And would be nice to have breakfasts in the off season. But overall, I’m a fan!

The Mt. Williamson Motel is an oasis in the Owens Valley. The staff is friendly band helpful. The motel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are well appointed - refrigerator, microwave, air-conditioning and coffee. Best of all is the “resupply package”. The motel holds resupply buckets for thru-hikers and provides a shuttle to popular trailheads plus laundry, for a fee. Add in the complimentary breakfast and this is a place/service that should not be missed. I will be back anytime I am in the Owens Valley area.

This is a hidden gem for anyone hiking in the Sierra. The place is like a cute bed and breakfast, and they do serve a hot breakfast to hikers in the summer months. But there is so much more to their services: Shuttle service to trailheads, clothes washing, lots of information for hikers. Most importantly, they offer a place for the hiking community to be able to relate and discuss events on the trail; everything from weather to trail conditions. I highly recommend.

Beware: Booked a room on condition we could cancel 72 hrs before arrival (our JMT itinerary was tricky due to weather) - when we did have to cancel they refused to refund us. Disappointing experience on an otherwise great trip.

What a terrific location for anyone planning to visit and hike the Mt. Whitney area. Great cabins with coffee/teapots, nice double beds, and the bonus was a delicious hot breakfast every morning. One of our friends drove down from northern California with lots of food and we were able to use their kitchen to have homemade dinners! It was a fabulous respite after days of hiking and/or exploring.

Our experience at Mt. Williamson Motel couldn't have been better. They called before our arrival to go through details, parking, expectations. etc. So appreciated that! The Motel is quaint, quiet, and just perfect. We travelled with our dog and stayed in Bailey's Cabin which had an enclosed yard. The room was super cute, clean and cozy. BREAKFAST! the best! And we met so many wonderful travelers.
