"I booked this hotel for my first and last day in Lhasa, and the service was absolutely fantastic! When I arrived, a security guard helped me with my luggage. On the day I left, a staff member saw I was in a hurry to catch my flight and helped carry my bags and saw me off. The hotel is clean and hygienic. Since it was my second time staying, the front desk小姐姐 (a polite way to refer to a female staff member) even upgraded me to an executive room when other rooms were available, which offered a view of the Potala Palace. The experience was truly amazing!"

"Satisfactory aspects: The room was nice and had ethnic characteristics; the hotel's location was excellent (we had a travel companion with mobility issues); the service and communication were very satisfactory (there was a third-party system error with another platform regarding room extensions, but the front desk staff were very patient in communicating with them, and the receptionist, Yangji, provided excellent service; the overall service quality was also very good); the breakfast was delicious and we were very satisfied; the room cleaning was also satisfactory. -- The only unsatisfactory aspect was: the toothbrush bristles were shedding. After rinsing my mouth, 5 or 6 bristles got stuck between my teeth, and I had to stop and pull them out while rinsing. (Bringing your own toothbrush solved this problem.) -- Suggestion: If possible, if the hotel renovates again, it could add features catering to younger travelers (such as self-service laundry and a self-service bar). -- There are attractions downstairs, and you can walk to Namased Restaurant. It's conveniently located in the city center, making it easy to get around. The attached pictures show nearby attractions and restaurants."

"Our family of three was absolutely delighted with the triple room! It was incredibly spacious – we could spread out all three large suitcases and still have plenty of room to move around. The best part was the fantastic natural light; the big windows made the whole room bright and airy, instantly lifting our spirits. The humidifier in the room was a lifesaver at this altitude; we slept soundly without any dryness. The electric kettle heated water quickly, and we really appreciated the thoughtful touch of six complimentary bottles of mineral water! The mini-fridge was also very convenient for keeping our fruits and yogurt chilled. What truly amazed us was the hand-painted ceiling – auspicious Eight Buddhist Symbols, personally painted by a ******* artist. The colors were vibrant and brought a sense of good fortune. Waking up every day to such beautiful art made us feel incredibly blessed. These details really show how much care the hotel puts into its guests, balancing modern comfort with an authentic ******* cultural atmosphere. "Pros: Hotel staff are friendly and the location is close to the main tourist district and the Potala Palace. There are restaurants available near the hotel. One thing was that I communicated with the front desk staff to not disturb me the next morning and that I will let them know when they could clean the room coz I was exhausted due to high altitude sickness and unable to sleep throughout the night, however, the cleaning staff banged on the door at 12 noon asking if they could clean the room. When I booked this hotel on Trip.com, it says also includes one afternoon tea per day, and I booked 9 nights. It turned out isn't true and was not told until I asked the front desk. The hotel staff only responded that in fact the afternoon tea has been cancelled since Dec 2025 and did not provide anything else. With this incident plus laundry only allows 5 pieces/day and doesn't wash inner wear like socks/underwear. I honestly feel that there are a lot more other choices at this price."

I was absolutely mesmerized the moment I walked in! You can dine, enjoy sweet tea, afternoon tea, pet cats… In short, it’s perfect for leisurely spending time in Lhasa. The hotel is right on the Barkhor Street kora path, just a 3-minute walk to Jokhang Temple! I heard this used to be the Nepalese Consulate 400 years ago, and now it's the Gesar Japo Museum! Carvings, murals, and antique objects are everywhere. Exploring this heritage-listed ******* ancient building truly feels like stepping back in time. Upon check-in, there's a traditional Hada presentation. The staff are so warm and helpful, even assisting with luggage. They also offer complimentary ******* traditional clothing for photos. "Our 3-day stay in Lhasa was absolutely fantastic, especially traveling with my mom. The hotel's convenience, cleanliness, and excellent service really made our mother-daughter trip much more harmonious. - The location is incredibly convenient. It's about 1.5 kilometers to Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and photo shoot spots, all easily walkable. We explored Lhasa entirely on foot during our stay. - They were well-prepared for altitude sickness. The room has an oxygen concentrator that can be used for diffusion or nasal cannula. On the first night, I foolishly took a shower and felt nauseous and dizzy in the middle of the night, doubting my existence. The butler came to help me with the oxygen concentrator in the middle of the night, and I finally got two hours of sleep after using oxygen until dawn. I searched for altitude sickness on Xiaohongshu, feeling like I was on the verge of needing a hospital. The front desk on the second floor has a pulse oximeter, and I felt relieved after seeing my reading was in the 80s. - I can't praise the butlers and front desk enough; their service was perfect! It wasn't the fake kind of luxury service you often find, but genuinely thoughtful and comfortable. - The restaurant offers a beautiful view of the Potala Palace, making breakfast a delightful experience."

Please note that the altitude is 0 for normal working condition. 4. To the right of the Bank of China entrance, there is a nice supermarket and fruit stand. 5. I found long hair on the bed. Did you see that I was traveling alone and sent a beautiful girl to have sex with me while I was away? 6. It is recommended to live on the Yutuo Road side so that you have a chance to see the Potala Palace. 7. Breakfast is simple but filling, and the dishes I cook are different every day. I live on breakfast every day. 8. The front desk can be more welcoming. 9. There are free drinks every day, which is highly praised. 10. Can wash clothes, suitable for long-term travelers. 11. "Staying at Dongmawa Homestay was definitely the best decision I made on this trip to Tibet! 🏨The location is fantastic! From the rooftop terrace, you can have a complete view of the Potala Palace at night. Having dinner or afternoon tea with friends on the terrace while enjoying the view was incredibly pleasant! The room amenities are comparable to a five-star hotel! It has a Dyson humidifier and hairdryer. There's also a washing machine with a dryer and a small refrigerator. The diffused oxygen supply helped me sleep soundly without worrying about altitude sickness. Their breakfast was absolutely amazing—so plentiful! The owner was warm and welcoming, the room was clean and cozy, and the Tibetan-style decor was full of delightful surprises. I felt comfortable and at ease during my stay, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Lhasa!!"

"This was my first time in Lhasa with three elderly family members. The hotel's facilities were quite complete, and although it's a bit older, it's well-maintained. The service was warm and friendly, and we were very satisfied with our stay. When we arrived, the staff at the entrance proactively helped us with our luggage. Yesterday, one of the seniors experienced some altitude sickness, and when we returned to the hotel, the front desk attendant kindly provided an oxygen tank, which effectively alleviated their symptoms. I was so busy looking after them that I forgot to take any pictures of the hotel."

The room's decor felt incredibly homey, far from the cold, impersonal hotel style, and instead filled with a sense of lived-in warmth. The solid wood furniture, wool ******* rugs, and that window overlooking Nanshan Park all contributed to a particularly comfortable stay. What touched me most was the hotel's service. GGuest UserFacilities: The room type was very spacious, I booked a two-bed room this time. The cleanliness was acceptable, but the facilities were a bit old, and there was some water leakage. Room service was prompt. Minibar: Good. 24-hour oxygen supply service: This was very important, especially the 24-hour medical room. Due to severe altitude sickness for the first few days, I spent most of my time in the medical room. Only after taking medication and receiving oxygen could I manage to walk around a bit outside. Cleanliness: Acceptable, and the turndown service was also good. Environment: This is arguably the best in Lhasa. After staying one day elsewhere, I spent the remaining days at The St. Regis. During my stay in Lhasa, I mostly dined and engaged in activities at the hotel. The room layout was very well-proportioned, and maintenance was decent. Afternoon tea was just okay, but the Western restaurant had excellent food, and the sweet tea was the best. Service: The butler, Tina, was excellent. Her service was attentive throughout, and I was very satisfied. Next time I visit Lhasa, I definitely won't choose any other hotel. She even proactively checked in on my well-being.

Buy an oxygen tube for RMB 10/piece, and you can arrange an oxygen machine at the lobby bar to provide free oxygen. There were sanitary defects, cigarette butts were found, we don't smoke as a family, but it was acceptable, the sprinkler pipe leaked, and the water pressure increased after cleaning. Everything was cured by the warm customer service.

The airport pickup service was punctual and attentive. The driver was calm and professional, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey. Throughout our trip, the hotel arranged a dedicated driver to take us to Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace. The routes were well-planned, the driving was steady, and he waited patiently, allowing us to easily visit these sacred sites without any worries. I must give special praise to our butler, Zhixi. His service was incredibly meticulous and he anticipated our every need. From guiding us during check-in and offering itinerary suggestions to providing tips for high altitude, he followed up attentively throughout, always responsive to our requests. He handled every small detail with such care and thoughtfulness, making us feel completely at ease. The dining experience at the restaurant was excellent. The dishes were varied, delicious, and of high quality. A special thanks to Dekyi Wangmo for her exceptional care. Her service was warm and attentive; she proactively anticipated our needs, from taking orders to refilling tea and providing thoughtful details. The dining atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, and we enjoyed every meal thoroughly. This was especially helpful for us who experienced some altitude sickness. Standard hotel services were also top-notch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were humble, courteous, and responded quickly. We just arrived in Lhasa and were not very familiar with the itinerary. Later, we consulted the proprietress to avoid falling into the trap. You can also ask the proprietress to help buy performance tickets and travel packages. There are many discounts after comparison. I am also very satisfied with the arranged room. It is square, clean, with a humidifier, oxygen concentrator, and air conditioner. Every morning, the bright sunshine will shine into the room, making the cool morning warm all of a sudden. Living in a sunny room makes my altitude sickness much better. The location of the hotel is also very good👍 It is convenient to go out for transportation. It takes a few minutes to walk to Jokhang City, Barkhor Street, and Jokhang Temple. It only takes 10 yuan to take Didi to the Potala Palace. Warm service, clean room, convenient transportation, we will definitely stay in Gesanghua again next time.

GGuest UserIt is a very clean and comfortable small courtyard. I can lie on the bed in the single room on the second floor and take a nap while looking at the blue sky and white clouds in the afternoon. In the evening, I can go out for a bite to eat and a walk. At night, I return to the inn to chat with some friends from all over the world and have a drink quietly. I come out just to relax for a while and then return to real life to continue working hard.

GGuest UserThe hotel isn't to far from the Portola Palace (a short taxi trip). I wouldn't say its a true 4 star hotel. The room was a good size, quiet and didn't smell of cigarette smoke. The room was a little worn out; I couldn't get the TV to work, the mirror on the wet bar area was cracked, there were marks to the walls where paintings/pictures had once been. Most annoying was the shower cubicle and the shower over the bath had only cold water! On my last morning the power was off in my area of the hotel and the lift was not working due to the power outage. The hotel staff do not speak English, but one lady working on reception was especially nice and helpful and we were able to communicate by using the translation app. There are lots of restaurants near by, but next time I think I'd prefer to stay closer to the Portola Palace.
