"Overall a Great Stay, Though Service Left Room for Improvement. We recently completed a 3-day, 2-night stay at this hotel, booking a package that included both breakfast and dinner—which I highly recommend. While many local guests opt for day trips or single-night stays, staying two nights allowed us to fully enjoy the experience. Property & Amenities: The property is a traditional, slightly dated onsen hotel in terms of room amenities, but the public areas are well-maintained and clean. The location is also extremely convenient. Service Experience: Most of the staff—including the male receptionists, buffet team, and bar staff—were wonderfully welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, our interaction with one front desk staff member, Ms. Morikawa, was disappointing. Although she understands English, her attitude towards us was noticeably cold and distant. Having traveled extensively throughout Japan and internationally, the contrast in hospitality was clear, particularly when we observed her interacting warmly with Japanese guests right after being dismissive with us. We felt compelled to bring this matter to the attention of the Front Desk Manager. While we rarely feel the need to raise service concerns in Japan, we felt it was important to share our experience regarding being treated differently as foreign guests. Aside from this incident, we enjoyed our time and appreciated the efforts of the rest of the team."

"We were pleasantly surprised to find a hot spring bath in our hotel room, though I'm not sure if all rooms have one! The surrounding area is beautiful. Right next to the hotel, there's ziplining, tree trekking, and fishing, which is super convenient. In the evening, you can enjoy the mountain lights. It's also easy to drive to the city for dinner and grocery shopping; it only takes about 8 minutes."

"Overall a great stay. The biggest advantage is the convenience. It is truly ski in ski out, which makes it very easy to access the slopes without needing to travel anywhere. The slopes here are also very beginner friendly. They are not too steep, which makes it a comfortable place to learn or practice skiing. I also took a 2 hour private ski lesson arranged through the hotel. Our instructor, Yuki, was very friendly, patient, and encouraging, which made the learning experience enjoyable. The only downside was the food. Both the dinner and breakfast buffet had quite limited variety, and the taste was just average. Considering the price we paid, the food did not feel very worth it. Overall, it is still a good place to stay if you want convenience and easy access to beginner friendly slopes. Just do not expect too much from the buffet."

Each guest room is meticulously crafted, like a work of art – spacious, comfortable, and adorned with warm, elegant decor. The private open-air bath in every room, with the natural fragrance of hinoki and elm wood, gently embraces your tired body and soul. At night, as soft lights illuminate the room, lying on the plush bed, the world feels wonderfully peaceful and tender. Waking up in the morning, brewing a cup of coffee and enjoying it with the lake view outside – a simple yet profoundly blissful moment unfolds. The warmth of the service is truly the most touching aspect here! From the moment you enter, you're greeted with meticulous and genuine hospitality. Thoughtfully, they arrange for you to change into comfortable slippers and offer a welcome drink; everything flows naturally and without pretense. I particularly remember a young female staff member with glasses who, with her fluent English and attentive, thorough explanations, made me feel incredibly comfortable and respected. Encountering such dedicated individuals during a trip is undoubtedly a rare stroke of luck. And the hotel's facilities are full of surprises! Outside the large public bath, complimentary drinks are available, along with table tennis and arcade games, adding a playful touch to your relaxation. The lobby features Japanese snacks and board games, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere; the relaxation area on the second floor is even more serene and comfortable – once you sit down, you won't want to leave. The dining experience here is simply sublime. Various alcoholic beverages are kept in ice buckets, freely awaiting wine enthusiasts! Dinner is exquisite and innovative; each dish is a stunning work of art, so delicious that it makes you want to return just for the food. Breakfast is delicate and abundant, awakening your taste buds and setting a wonderful tone for the day. The shiso soda thoughtfully provided in the in-room mini-fridge is incredibly refreshing after a hot spring soak, leaving a lasting, pleasant aftertaste. The toiletries have a delicate fragrance, leaving the skin soft and comfortable after use – even these small details are not overlooked. The overall service is friendly and sincere, without being overly familiar, yet maintaining just the right amount of professionalism. It truly feels like a 'just right' luxury experience! The hotel's surroundings are quiet and pristine, and transportation to and from the lakeside is convenient. Whether taking a taxi or using the hotel's shuttle service to JR Toya Station, it's effortless. It feels like Hotel Premium Lake Toya is not just a hotel, but a cherished memory of a journey. Here, the scenery is more than just scenery, and the service is more than just service – it's a reason to return to square one and rediscover the beauty of life."

"We stayed at Rusutsu Resort Hotel & Convention and we were truly impressed. We came for skiing, and the location is perfect — just step out of the hotel and you’re right at the ski slopes. So convenient .⛷️❄️ The room was spacious, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The snowy view from the window made the whole experience even more special. After a full day of skiing, relaxing in the onsen was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect way to unwind and recharge. ♨️✨ The staff were friendly, polite, and very helpful. Overall, it was a comfortable and memorable stay. Definitely a place we would love to come back to again.❤️Bkk Thailand ❤️"

"The basic price was reasonable, but the service was terrible. The facilities were poor. The room was spacious, but the quality of the door seemed questionable, and the locking mechanism was very old-fashioned, probably because it was converted into a guest room later. There's a huge difference between lake-view and mountain-view rooms, and the front desk said almost all mountain-view rooms were corner rooms. I don't recommend the two-meal plan; although I expected frozen food, it was still incredibly unappetizing. The onsen was old-fashioned, with only one outdoor pool in a wooden hut. You could see the fireworks, but they were obstructed. I went to the lakeside pavilion for a day trip, which had fully outdoor open-air onsens – the facility difference was truly significant. The only thing worth praising was that the service was much better than expected; both the restaurant staff and the various front desk personnel I encountered had excellent attitudes."

"If you enjoy an expensive, overcrowded hotel with little personal service, you've come to the right place! Pay premium to do your own check-in and scan your own passports too! The saving grace for this hotel are the rooms: Such a gorgeous view of Lake Toya! You can also see Mt Yotei in the distance, as well as the beautiful Nakajima island in the middle of the lake. The rooms are spacious and you can watch the nightly fireworks from the comfort of your balcony. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets are served in the cavernous Le Vent restaurant where the spread is fairly extensive but arguably underwhelming. Did I mention a JPY 11k (that's right) lost room key card charge?? A 7-pointer for me and I would search for alternatives if I were to stay at Lake Toya again."

"We had a great stay in Toya! The hotel is conveniently located near both the bus station and the train station, which made traveling very easy. The location is definitely one of its best features. The staff were very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. Just a heads up — there is no private bath in the room, so be prepared to use the public bath/onsen. But honestly, the onsen was very good and relaxing, so it was a great experience. Getting a taxi early in the morning (before 7 AM) can be quite difficult in Toya, so it’s better to arrange your taxi the night before. A taxi from the station to the hotel costs around 2,000–3,000 yen. Overall, a comfortable, relaxing, and convenient place to stay!"

"We got a Japanese room and this was clean. It's an older ”luxury” hotel that is showing it's age with wear on carpets, walls and bathroom. Hotel would add lots value just replacing hallway carpets. It's selling point is the waterfront view of fireworks and the rooftop onsen which provided a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. We stayed during foggy weather, and the view from the natural mineral water filled onsen was magical. Despite all the guests, Onsen was always empty when visited so nice unlike other hotels on this trip. Breakfast buffet quality was ok, and built for masses. Bus stop is right in front of hotel but buses run infrequently to jr station or to crater. Overall good memorable stay."

"Our group of four occupied a single room to facilitate conversation. While the room was somewhat compact for four beds, the breakfast offered was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The counter staff were proficient in English, and the hotel provided English television programming, unlike other establishments. The staff consistently demonstrated courtesy and friendliness, and were highly capable of addressing our inquiries."
