Myoko Hotels with Wifi

"The hotel itself was nice, but the staff at the ski resort was horrible, the rentals are also not well maintained. The boards are not waxed, which makes it difficult to work with as there are a lot of flat routes which are difficult to avoid (Pony and village road were the flattest slope Ive ever seen in my life, I had to unstrap and walk and the board just wouldn't move). Ski resort staff were unfriendly and the rental staff was the worst, there was a lady there that was cold and rude. The only reason why the rental shop is surviving is probably because the equipments are salomon branded and that there is no other option.  I would visit again but only because the routes are fun, Myoko long run was the best, but I would never want to rent from the shop again. The food was very very good. For breakfast, you could choose from western or Japanese buffet. Western buffet is highly recommended, the omelette was the best ive eaten in my life and there was a diy risotto which was great as well. For dinner, there were 4 options, either buffet, steak, Japanese or shabushabu. All requiring reservations which is tough if you are checking in the evening as some might not be available. Highly recommend the steak, the food was good and the staff were amazing. Japanese was the hardest to get a reservation for but the food was quite underwhelming. The room was clean and ski lockers are also provided but it's tiny and can barely fit 2 boards. But I wish that in the toilet in the common area, you can adjust the tap temperature as the water is freezing cold. Amenities wise, bottled water are provided daily, also, yukata was provided but you can only wear them to the onsen which was extremely troublesome as I had to change multiple times a day.  The hotel provides shuttle bus services to and fro jyoetsumyoko station which was easy to book. The bus drivers were also friendly and helped out with the luggage. In summary, for a 5 stars hotel, it didn't live up to expectations, ski resort and rental staffs were unwilling to help and unfriendly. Also, some of the staffs could not speak Japanese which is puzzling for a hotel in Japan. If not for the amazing snow and slopes I would never come back."

"The hotel is very close to the ski resort, which is very convenient. Our family of four had a slightly unusual room; the bedroom and living room were separate, but to get to the living room, you had to go outside to a public area, which was a bit inconvenient because you might run into other guests. Therefore, you had to be properly dressed before going out. It felt a little awkward. The breakfast food was acceptable; the variety was usually consistent, but you definitely needed to eat enough before skiing. There are three hot springs, but the largest one is usually not open to hotel guests at midday, perhaps it's rented out to guests outside the hotel. However, this doesn't seem to affect skiers much, as they usually go skiing around midday."

"The large public bath and breakfast were great. It's a small thing, but the wireless charging for my phone was very useful."

"This chain hotel has hot spring baths. Located at the high-speed intersection. There are many restaurants around. There is also a seafood market. The canteen next to the hotel has a large portion and a large bowl of noodles is enough for two people. The room size is a bit small, but there are everything that should be available, and the price is fairly affordable. The breakfast was good. Parking is free."

"The room is so huge and have all we need. Just short walk to seafood market & restaurants nearby. The owner is very helpful."

"Property is set in a very quiet and peaceful environment. Very clean and modern. Well maintained after its renovation. There are plenty of free parking space. Room is big but unfortunately without shower/bath - a big negative for the property. There are two common showers for the whole hotel which must be busy during peak seasons. I recommend the hotel especially during off peak season when you can use the public showers. Otherwise you have to use the bathing facilities in the onsen."

"Great stay at a Japanese bed and breakfast style accomodation. Owners are an elderly Japanese couple who speaks average English but we get by. Free transport to and fro ski slopes even though they are a 1.2 km walk away from Akakura Onsen main street. Owner was also kind enough to drive us to the train station for our rest day from snowboard. Breakfast was great! Room had attached toilets and were super clean. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Will stay here again next time I come to Myoko Kogen"

"The location is really remote, even driving feels far away, there will be an avalanche and ice on the road in winter, be very careful, fortunately, it is the first in Yan Hot Spring District, and then the ground is full of moss, the car will slip, you can borrow rain shoes from the hotel to go up, There is a real sense of the end of the world here. Because the part of the female soup is being renovated, you can take a bottle of drink from the beverage cabinet every day, but the bath time is taken turns with the male soup, and you can't take a bath after midnight. It is not recommended to take a bath the next morning. The homestay has a laundry service, which can be given to the owner of the homestay when you go out in the morning, and will be washed and placed in the room at night. Yujamas are provided. Many ancient skiing equipment is also displayed in the homestay. In addition to some renovated hardware and software facilities, the owner of the hotel is very kind. At night, he also helped us put hot water bags in the quilt. There are many small snacks in the room. When we leave, we even took various snacks as a souvenir for us. We really feel at home."
