A stunning boutique and quint hotel, location is perfect and the staff make it absolutely perfect. I’d definitely recommend upgrading to the all inclusive plus, the cocktails are SO worth it and you get bottled water too which is great if you want to explore the local area. Will be back!

Myself sister her husband and two children 5 and 9 years of age stayed for one week all inclusive plus at the hotel from the moment we stepped inside was made to feel welcome was lovely clean rooms ready for us before the allotted time of checking in nice view of the pools and beach from our balcony fresh towels and beach towels laid out and fruit basket and bottle of wine for our arrival the food was a buffet style and plenty of choice staff excellent in all aspects especially with local knowledge and children really enjoyed the cocktails made on the pool bar, choice of two sides of beaches with sun lounger and umbrella all set out for you to choose. Entertainment was lovely kids loved the mini disco and also enjoyed belly dancing and Greek night ! Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great family holiday.

A small hotel in a village that has shops, bars and restaurants all walkable. The 2 rooms we booked were perfect for us, had everything needed to have a comfortable night sleep and shower, nice touch having a bottle of wine on arrival in them too! Cleaned everyday and fresh towels. Friendly staff on reception who were able to help with local bus times and where to get the bus from - 2 min walk to the stop for Chania and 15 mins walk to the stop to Rethymno/Heraklion. Also you can pick up beach towels from them each day 👍 Momo was able to organise trip to Samaria gorge with pick up and drop off outside the hotel which was great. All food was buffet which had a good choice for all- we have a vegetarian in our group and there was plenty to eat, albeit some days better than others, but always a full plate (or two!). The staff again were great, keeping the tables and areas clean, one of the guys (unsure of name) was always smiling 😊 Wine, beer and coffee on tap to help yourself (and soft drinks during meal times) and lovely cocktails from the bar 👍 Wasn’t expecting a lot of the entertainment based on previous reviews, but was pleasantly surprised- the eve entertainment was low key but a great band, magic show, traditional dance show, music quiz, only day no entertainment is a Wednesday. Penelope the reception manager was amazing and helped in sorting out us keeping our rooms longer on our final day (as we had a late flight), great as we were able to spend the day relaxing on the beach, then have a shower before heading off! Booked into the spa with Niki for our last morning. My son had the tailor made massage with Georgia and said it was great. I had the Calm sea massage (back neck and scalp massage) and a facial with Georgia - highly recommend -she checked within first few mins that I was happy with the pressure - it was really relaxing and a perfect end to a great week.

For a four star hotel very dissapointing ,noise at night of slamming doors ,noise of people walking past your door, having a room with ajoining door you could here everything that they were saying and music played ,but worse of all was the bathroom ,it was that small you had to put one foot on the shower tray to sit on the toilet ,they were that close together we have stayed in better two star hotels than this one ,staff very good maids very good ,but hotel very poor

We arrived on 31:5. There were 25 of us staying at the hotel arriving over several days to attend a wedding. We were asked if we’d like to upgrade to all inclusive. When we declined the head receptionist sternly told us that as lots of friends were staying there we were NOT to ask them to get us drinks at the bar!! We had no intention of doing so and did not find it the warmest of welcomes. We had booked a sea view room. It was perfectly adequate apart from the bathroom, which was so small the toilet touched the shower screen. The furniture was ok although all the doors needed adjusting as they either rubbed on the drawers below or the floor. Breakfast was excellent with a full range of continental and English breakfast. Plenty of meats and cheese, cereal and fruit. After discovering the prices for 2 drinks at the bar were the same as a days all inclusive we decided to upgrade. Lunch and dinner were disappointing and very repetitive. The same food each day with just a different sauce. We had lunch if we were around the pool but after a couple of evening meals we ate out at the local restaurants (of which there are several within walking distance) Housekeeping was atrocious. The floors were dirty. Sometimes the bed was made, other days not. Towels were changed randomly and the bathroom rarely wiped down. One day we were in the room & a housekeeper walked in with one clean towel. Fortunately we were fully clothed! Tea and coffee were not replenished so we helped ourselves to extra supplies at breakfast. The entertainment was good, but being by the pool below out window it was very loud until 11pm and although the pool bar closed at 11pm people hung around laughing and chatting till the early hours. Not too much of a problem for us but for those with children in those rooms it was an issue. The stairs were only swept once in our 10 day stay and despite the pool area being cleaned each morning we found a dead bird under one of the sun beds. The location of the hotel was perfect for our holiday and the venue for the wedding. The majority of staff were friendly. However for the price we paid the rooms and food were of a poor standard. The local bars and restaurants were excellent and reasonably priced, with incredibly friendly staff and a wide variety of dishes. I would not recommend this hotel

Accommodation is adequate, the Mountain View is of mountain dew in the vending machine across the road in a shop. The room is small and to walk round the bed is almost impossible - one bedside cabinet lives behind the curtain! Looking on the website, these small rooms are not even pictured! The food is barely adequate, and only ever warm with very limited choices. The reception area bathrooms are not cleaned or topped up. Having to ask for toilet tissue at the reception is embarrassing to say the least. The majority of the staff are friendly but there are the odd few that don’t realise they work in the hospitality industry. Having booked through TUI the brochure pictures need updating as they were clearly taken years ago. As a suggestion I would recommend a few holiday reps stay here undercover to see for themselves the standards. The beach is incredible and the weather is amazing in June. But the hotel doesn’t have a say in that !

We stayed in this amazing hotel for a week, inclusive. The location is fantastic 👌. It is located in a small village, Kalyves with the local cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, ... A very safe and welcoming place. 35-40 min drive to Chania. The hotel staff were polite, professional and friendly. All speak English very well. Some speak French and German too. The beach bar is open from 11am until 11pm. The bartenders were very nice with our twins asking them every ten minutes for mocktails. Every morning at 10am yoga by the beach and 12 pm exercise in the pool, all were leading by a very friendly yet professional lady. There were different shows every evening. Most importantly, food was fresh from the local products, different seafood every day, and salad bars were my favourite parts. Fresh fruits and the olive station were the great touch. We will definitely go back to Kalyves Beach Hotel. Thanks for this splendid experience 😊
