Our first experience of staying a night in a Dal Lake houseboat in Kashmir came true recently. With innumerable houseboats there, it may be difficult to distinguish one from the other. But our experience here was pleasant, with clean rooms and bathroom with continuous hot water and personalized services of the caretaker. Dinner was made as per our preference though the breakfast choice was rather limited. Overall nice feel.

Third class service Third class behaviour We were freezing at 0 degree Celsius but they don’t allow to use room heater. No warm or hot water. It was terrible day staying in this houseboat. Please don’t come

Staying here was a wonderful experience that every visitor to Kashmir should include on their trip. The houseboat was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the decor showcased the beautiful crafts***ship that Kashmir is known for (including rugs, wood carvings, paper mache, etc.). The staff was very helpful and accommodating and were able to help us with things like laundry service, boat taxi transport, etc. One of our favorite parts was the breakfast (which was always excellent) and the dinner service which was built to our preferences in terms of spice level, non-veg/veg, etc. Would definitely recommend.

The houseboat - Lake Victoria is an amazing place to stay especially with a family. The staff there were pretty helpful and friendly. The rooms were unexpectedly spacious with a bathtub to add to the surprise. The best part was the location that had endless houseboats, moving shikaaras, the lake and a picturesque scenery with mountains and glaciers. There were no heaters in the room as the entire boat was made with wood, but they could still have electric blankets or beds to keep the guests warm. In a nutshell, this experience was extremely fantastic and can be enjoyed by all!

Lake Victoria Houseboats is at Gate Number 9. They will provide a transfer for free. There is a family room which can accommodate 5 pax easily. The rooms were clean and the furniture was a little old, but that's ok provided you are just going to stay for a night. They do provide Dinner & Breakfast. However, a very simple menu for breakfast - bread, omelet, Poha & Tea, can't comment on Dinner. Non-Veg is available. View from the houseboat is satisfying.

We came here from Bangladesh. The hospitality was unparalleled. The environment was mesmerising. The experience on the boat was very pleasant. And also ashraf bhai helped us throughout the ride. So, i would rate the experience 5 star

Please don't stay in houseboat in Srinagar as it is very unhygienic because of polluted water, room were badly maintained. Bathroom jet has no pressure and caretaker couldn't do anything. Once you reach the property, you are stuck there and have to take shikara to go to city. Best is to stay in a hotel and pay for shikara ride as the complementary ride takes you to meena bazar which was very dirty.

Everything was superb in terms of location, cleanliness, food, stay, comfort. They have a group of five house boats. All are the best in terms of price and comfort. You must stay the property. Must try chicken and fish tikka sitting outside area of houseboat and enjoy the beauty of dal lake.
