The location is not bad if you are driving but quite scary if you walk especially after the sunset. You need to pass through dark, quiet roads in order to get there.
Not quite like the fact that you need to leave your shoes at the entrance with no cctv so people could take your shoes. Luckily this is Japan and one can assume it’s safe.
Room is fine but the heating table and cushions don’t seem particularly clean.
It was comfortable enough. Japanese style room is also lovely. It basically has what you need but it would be better if there is mirror inside the room because in the morning the ladies were putting on make up in the shared toilet which makes it hard to use the sink.
Public bathroom is nice. The tea bags and drinks provided are nice too.

The trip consisted mainly of trains and buses rather than cars. Walking with luggage from Nakakaruizawa Station to the hotel was a little difficult, so being able to request a shuttle in advance was very helpful. The staff at the facility are all very cheerful and kind, making you feel at ease. The building and rooms are old, but the quaint atmosphere of the Showa era building gives it a nostalgic and calming feel. Comes with a yukata, toothbrush, and towel. Free coffee/tea packs, sugar/cream, hot water pot and microwave are provided on each floor. There was also a washing machine on the first floor. The public bath can be accessed 24 hours a day.
There are convenience stores, soba restaurants, Harunire Terrace, and Karuizawa Kogen Church within walking distance, so you can enjoy walking around!

The location is great and the building is old but clean.
The room key and toilet key are hard to use.

I stayed in a Japanese-style room at Ikoi Sanso. On the day of the reservation, I suddenly made a reservation in the middle of the night, and I was worried that the check-in would be late due to work, so I called the hotel. Both the heater and the fan are firmly installed in the room, and I was able to warm up from the bottom of my heart even in the cold Karuizawa.
Basic cosmetics, combs, cotton swabs, and razors were well stocked in the bath. Thank you. The hair dryer was weak, but there was a fan in the room, so it wasn't a problem.
The large public bath with a capacity of 6 people was very comfortable and I entered many times. Next time I would like to use it with my friends and family.
I took pictures of dandelions in spring and flowers blooming at the Hiroshi Senju Museum, which I admired.
