My mum & I spent a week at San Antonio Resort, Kalami at the beginning of October. We were impressed by the standard of cleanliness in the hotel & communal areas, and the location in Kalami was perfect for a relaxing break. There were 3 or 4 tavernas to choose from in Kalami, & more in neighbouring bays (though not all were open in the evenings as it was the last week in the season). The restaurants at the hotel served delicious food, and breakfast offered a wide choice of hot & cold dishes (including plenty of veggie/vegan options). Being the only hotel open in the bay mean we often bumped into other guests at the different tavernas, which gave it a friendly a**osphere. The hotel staff were helpful with making bookings for various places. We caught the local service bus to Corfu Town which was a bit of a mission on the return journey as the bus leaves from the main Green Bus terminus which is about a 15-20 min walk from the main town: booking a boat trip would have been more straightforward and fun, although, admittedly, not the cheapest option. We hired a motor boat for the day from The White House (from €80 plus fuel, with price increase for more powerful motors). This was great fun and a highlight of the trip. The 2 pools at the hotel were very chilly & we didn't quite make it in, but the sea was clear & calm so we spent most days on the beach instead (beach shoes for pebbles made it much easier to access the water). Sunbeds were €15 for 2 per day which we didn't mind paying (often the case on European beaches), though I know some people feel they should be free for hotel guests. A bottle of water & a coffee were included. There have been several posts that mention the hill/slope from the hotel reception/breakfast room to the lifts, which could be a drag for people with mobility issues, or for those who tire easily walking up hill. My 77 year old mum managed it (albeit with occasional stops on hotter days), but there was always the offer of a lift in a golf-cart if we wanted it. All in all, a very pleasant, relaxing stay and good value for money. We hope to come back again sometime.
