Great location near both the airport and the Alaska Marine Highway ferries. When my flight landed, the hotel's van was already waiting to take us back. Ketchikan has a reliable bus system that gets you back and forth to downtown for two dollars.
My room was clean but dated. The exterior and common areas are sharp, but the rooms could use a facelift. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The 10-dollar-off-breakfast coupon was a godsend, and the breakfasts there are great (dinner not so much).
Still, I would probabl choose this hotel in the future for the home-like atmosphere. The business center had a computer for web-surfing and the lobby had a nice living room feel. It was the kind of place people in the old world would have just lived in rather than bother getting an apartment. There are other places in town that might be sharper, but they would either be too expensive or lack the warm, communal feeling that this place has.
Overall, I'm guessing that this would still be the best deal in Ketchikan.
