Airlie Arms Hotel

We were not disappointed, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the accommodation up to standard and very clean, we ate at the restaurant and whole heartily enjoyed our meal. If you are looking for accommodation outside of large town Airlie Arms is certainly worth a stay.

Food is embarrassing. Below average. I had bruschetta for starter and pasta pesto for main. The bruschetta came...plate drizzled with balsamic and two tiny pieces of bread. Tomatoes bland. Completely overpowered by the balsamic vinegar. Pasta was pretty sad. The tagliatelle was actually quite nicely cooked! But the pesto was completely bland. My friend had penne with tomato and basil. The penne was waaaay over cooked and the sauce seemed to be a tin of tomatoes. The basil had seen better days. I have genuinely had better pasta from meal deals I'm sad to say. Perhaps the rest of the menu is great, but the pasta's are very poor IMO. The service was the setting were the only positives. Waitresses were lovely and accommodating. The pub itself has a nice atmosphere.

We sampled the Airlie Arms two fish and chips for 20 Tuesday offer. The fish was flaky, moist with puffy beer batter, lovely crispy chips and homemade tartare sauce- would definitely recommend. Fantastic value - will be back. Thanks to our server Summer for great service.

Excellent hotel and location. Beds are really comfy and rooms are large. Food at the pub is absolutely delicious, I highly recommend the breakfast. All the staff are friendly and very helpful, nothing was to much trouble. Would not hesitate to stay again.

One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. So comfortable and welcoming. The room was modern and bright and really clean. Having access to extra tea/coffee and milk was such a brilliant idea (it’s on a tray in the corridor). Staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic! A highlight of our time in Kirriemuir.

Certainly would not recommend eating here: salt and pepper squid is obviously frozen and was tasteless and as chewy as Ghandis flip flop. The steaks were average at best with the worst peppercorn sauce ever served: no taste, no seasoning and certainly, no flavour and worst of all: didn’t even taste of pepper. As for the service: Staff were more interested in chatting amongst themselves and not taking any notice of empty glasses (not only at our high table but other customers too). Did not ask what the food was like. Frosty attitude and finally: would be nice if they ironed their staff T-shirts.

Been visiting the Airlie Arms since April 2023 on taking a pitch at a local caravan site. Wandered in to the Arms and decided to try the food. OMG it was outstanding the 1st time and hasn't dissapointed on every other visit. 1st class presentation, reasonably priced, excellent service and brilliant staff. Very friendly and eager to help. Can't praise the place enough. Keep up the great work folks...

This was our 2nd stay,. The first stay was pleasant and a nice clean room within the hotel. We booked for a 2 night stay £162 on *********** we was showed to our room which was down an alley in the outbuildings. The room was freezing, damp and dirty. We asked for a heater which they gave us. But after showing the room to family they too agreed that the room wasn't up to standard. The carpet was filthy, cracked plug socket. The bathroom was old and dated, mould around the bath. Also the shower gel was leaking onto the bath and that had set hard which shows it hadn't been cleaned. We did ask to move rooms and we did thankfully. I was also bitten not sure what with though.

Pleasant enough stay but lack of space in restaurant on Saturday night meant dining in my room.
