Peninsula Beach Resort

Don't stay in this hotel. I suspect that the rating on Ctrip is fake. I booked this hotel only after seeing the rating. This hotel has very few rooms. It will be like a ghost town at night. There is a snake in Zhongyou, no one answered the phone when I called the front desk, gave two nights room fee, stayed one night and left, I will definitely not stay next time

The location is by the sea and the view is quite good.

We have spent our holidays at the Peninsula Koh Chang five times since 2017. We have always been very impressed. The owner has built the bungalows beautifully with passion, in a prime location, quietly located right on the beach. But unfortunately this year we discovered that the quality has deteriorated. Many guests came every day from the neighboring Royal Siam View Resort, who placed their sunbeds directly in front of the 9 bungalows at the Koh Chang Peninsula, and stayed there almost all day. To get into the sea, you had to squeeze through the sunbeds. In addition, it felt like a promenade at times, with guests from the other resort constantly walking past the Peninsula Bungalows, staring into the rooms, etc. You really feel harassed. In addition, we discovered that the beautiful, light sand is increasingly covered with co**** stones. It is really a shame to see how the Koh Chang Peninsula is being neglected. We will probably not spend our holidays there again.

Several establishments from the same hotel group share the resort, but the Peninsula seems the best of all thanks to its position on the beach and its (few) rooms (large and very pleasant). They are fully functional and the bathroom is practical and well appointed. The direct access to the beach and the view of the sea are two very appreciable advantages, not to mention the excellent soundproofing. The lighting is also very successful, with several possible combinations, including bedside lamps. Finally, something rare is that the fresh air from the air conditioning does not reach the bed since the device is placed in a discreet corner (above the door). The beach is pretty, the water clean but shallow. The sunset is right in front. The negative points: you have to be motorized, because the hotel is quite isolated. The big weak point is the catering which is not up to the standard. Sp**** menu (especially seafood) and too focused on Western customers, flavors absent. All activities are subject to payment (kayak, etc.), which is surprising for an establishment of this level. Last bad point: the reception is incapable of giving any information on the activities (for example, the snorkelling which is supposed to be offered), they do not know or say that there is nothing at the moment. Unfortunately, we feel a lack of attention to the customer and nothing is done to meet expectations (after 5 p.m., no more kayaking, because the staff wanted to leave): a big point to improve to maintain a level of quality.
