Another wonderful holiday at Giannoulis Grand Bay - our fourth time. Perfect chill out holiday , weather beautiful and the staff as always were friendly, helpful and attentive. We were welcomed like friends as it was our 4th trip, and thoroughly spoilt. We chose a Junior Suite with sea view and pool access this time, having been upgraded by the hotel last time to a garden room with direct pool access. Room was lovely and spacious, clean and tidy. We had fruit and wine waiting for us on arrival and the hotel manager came to check everything was as expected. We cant wait to return in 2025 for my big birthday, and wish all our friends at the Grand Bay a good winter and Christmas.

We loved our stay so much in 2023 that we had to come back in 2024 - and again we just love it! Place is wonderful and the staff is so nice and friendly - from day 1 you feel like home. When staying here, try the spa and give yourself a massage - it is soo good. We will for sure be back. Biggest problem right now is - we are now aware of other Giannoulis Hotels, so should we try another or just stay here - it’s a tough decision!

My friend and I stayed at the Giannoulis Grand Bay during May and I have to say it was above and beyond our expectations. The staff are incredibly professional, friendly and attentive; they really couldn’t be any more helpful answering questions, giving advice and making sure we enjoyed our stay. Cleaning staff come in a few times a day and check late afternoon to make sure that all is okay before they finish including more towels, tea/coffee etc (anything we needed). The atmosphere in the small boutique hotel oozes peace, tranquility and relaxation and it felt such a safe place that we often didn’t even lock our patio door. Our room was on the corner overlooking the sea with a shared pool accommodationing around 4 rooms. Waking up and sitting on our downstairs patio watching the sunrise and sunset was idyllic - highly recommend paying that extra for a sea view room! It is a fairly quiet hotel in the evenings with entertainment most nights such as a saxophonist, a violinist, a disco one night and a band. If you’re looking for a lively hotel or resort this isn’t the one for you but great for down time, delicious cocktails, 5* service and food. A cab to Chania is about £37 euro or €3.70 on the bus and there are lots of places to explore by local transport. Chania was beautiful …. take the time to wander and lose yourself there as we didn’t realise at first how many areas there were to explore. The food was excellent at the hotel with something for everyone and the views are stunning sitting outside for dinner whilst overlooking the sea and mountains. Noone was rushing to get food, it felt intimate, respectful and not a large ‘canteen style’ buffet ….. just right and a fantastic salad bar. I’m not a big meat / fish eater but I was able to enjoy enough of a variety of vegetarian food. The beach is pebbly so highly recommend beach shoes. I love a Sandy beach however this didn’t put us off, it actually made our time there more authentic and it had a beautiful rustic feel to it. Would highly recommend this hotel if you just want to relax and take it all in! Great for friends, couples, retired … or for those like me just needing a proper uninterrupted break of sun, sea, cocktails and rest! Thank you to each and every member of staff for making our holiday so special and for the lovely gift upon our departure ❤️. We will definitely be back …. Maybe with a few more of us in tow ….yikes 😂😊 Thank you x

We stayed a week at the beautiful Grand Bay Beach Resort and couldn’t have been happier with our holiday. The hotel was amazing, the food was great and the service was impeccable. The staff was incredibly serviceminded. We were extra pleased with one staffmember named Markos, who took great care of all our needs and made sure we had the best time during our stay. Would really recommend a stay at this hotel!

This hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways. All staff were fabulous throughout our 2 week stay. Our room was beautifully appointed with a terrace overlooking our loungers in turn overlooking the pool and beach. The food was excellent with far more variety than you would expect for a smaller hotel. Fantastic to be able to eat overlooking the beach. A truly relaxing and enjoyable holiday - huge thank you to ALL the staff, some of whom include Zoe, Kostas, Santos serving coffee in the morning,Marco & the lovely lady who couldn't do enough for us in the restaurant.

We had a most wonderful stay at the Giannoulis Grand Bay Beach Resort, from check in to check out everything met or exceeded expectation. Firstly the staff, wonderful welcoming check in experience and the staff were genuine and helpful ensuring our stay was as pleasant as possible. The hotel is modern, fresh and the accommodation was very comfortable with either garden or sea views, we had the latter with a small balcony with table and chairs to sit and relax. The food and beverages were also excellent, for a small hotel the daily choice of food was varied, fresh and tasty complimented by a fine selection of drinks. The location is perfect, the resort backs right onto the beach with ample room to sunbath on the beach or near the pool and its poolside bar. Kolymbari is quite a quiet resort and perfect for couples to get away from the more touristy hotspots, that said the bus stop to take you to Chania is right outside the hotel plus there are wonderful areas to walk and explore or as we did rent a car to explore a bit further afield.

Lovely compact hotel. Start of season so town isn't really open yet. You don't need to go anywhere else, as the hotel covers you for food and drink. Staff are really friendly and always have a smile, more so if you try and speak Greek. Nice for locals to hear the effort being made. They speak about 4 - 5 languages anyway. The room was bigger than we thought it would be, with a massive bed. Firm but comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space. Small fridge. Kettle, as well as a coffee pod machine. TV, which we never bother with. Free WiFi. Bathroom is a nice size with shower over bath. Toiletries are local, Olive oil based and fantastic. May have brought some home..... Spotlessly clean, housekeeping are a credit. Nothing to complain about but there are a few finishing touches (bathroom joints) that aren't quite right. Not really an issue though. Not worth complaining about. We went for shared pool sea view room. Nice to use our own pool but you're pretty much on the beach. Say 10mtrs away from where our room was (209). Pool was cold (not heated) but it was early May. Sea was cold too but both manageable once you're in. Lovely bit of snorkeling if you go to the rocky wave breakers. Beach is pebble and shingle. Recommend water shoes. Parts are sandy but not much. Plenty of choice for food, amazing tastes. Should be something you can eat. Only one setting where I didn't fancy much on the menu, but I managed. Save room for dessert as they are also fantastic. I've gained a lot of weight this week. The a la carte restaurant is also very good, if you don't want to be bombarded with choice and wish to be served. Had a gorgeous bottle of wine from a monastery in the east of Crete. The drinks are very good, you know you've had a drink. Wine comes in a mid sized bottle (2 large glasses ish) and is local and very palateable, whether red, white or rosé. Local beer is about on par with Carling etc. You can upgrade to All Inc plus and get Mythos, Peroni equivalent. Cocktails are really nice, my wife loves the Pina Colada. They don't do Mojito on the all Inc. But you can pay extra for certain drinks. All the staff were amazing, I won't name them all. But reception, bar staff, waiting staff, chefs, cleaners and yes even management. Always had time to chat and joke and practice my Greek. Nothing on during the day, but its a chill out place, make your own entertainment. Start of season, maybe more to come? Evenings had various shows on. Violinist on Fridays, we were knackered, our first day, so didn't stay up too late but he was very good. Would've like him to play again in the week. The town is relatively flat so not much bother for the less able. Nice little harbour to look around. The Monastery is well worth a visit. €3 pp. Looks good and reveals its history once you look around. Don't forget, women have to cover their legs and shoulders. Be respectful. Just outside the monastery is Bambi zoo. Just a small fenced off area where deer are kept. Seem well looked afte

We just loved this hotel. We went as a family group of couples. From the outset the staff were just amazing. So friendly at reception, a real welcome. Our room was delightful. It was a sea view and was spacious and clean with all we needed. We loved the smaller intimate side to the hotel and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The food was super for an all-inclusive and we never felt let down. The pies are just amazing, the onion pie was knockout so much so I asked for the recipe which the chef kindly emailed to me. The waitressing and restaurant staff were just as attentive and we appreciated them all, Zoe was great fun and Svetlana a delight. The bar was admirably run by Costas with always a laugh and a joke with Mario and Marcos. Andreas is a font of knowledge and had the ladies in our group swooning. We had been worried the beach would not be sandy but it was with just some pebbles on the shore line and the sea even in October welcoming. We had wonderful weather for our ten day stay with just one rainy day. Chania is well worth a visit and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. Kolymvari is very quiet but that is why we chose it. This is a cracking hotel with conscientious staff that really do look after you. Well done to the whole team. We will be back

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Grand Bay Resort and cannot fault the generous hospitality and attentive service of all the staff. We stayed in a junior suite with private pool access and sea view which was a glorious site to wake up to after arriving at midnight! There was a great variety of locally sourced food at each meal, with higher quality than we'd previously experienced from an all-inclusive. Zoe was very attentive, checking in at each meal and letting us know of any events happening. Olive Oil night was a favourite - definitely worth the 20€ charge per person. It was also good to meet other guests over the cheese and wine evening and DJ night! My sister celebrated her 30th whilst we were there and the hotel went above and beyond to make it special, with champagne and strawberries secretly delivered to the room. We were thankful for beautiful weather for a mid-October break - we would love to return and explore more of beautiful Crete, but were also very happy to spend our days lying by the pool, swimming in the sea and drinking cocktails on our sun loungers! Thank you for a wonderful peaceful holiday.
