Qambani is the perfect place to relax, if you literally want to do nothing, except laze by the pool, or read a book! We absolutely loved the resort, from the staff, to the rooms, it was perfect. The food was very good, not 5* but still tasty and well presented! All in all, we had a great time!

Qambani is breathtaking in every way. Staff went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful experience. Food and service were excellent. The only drawback was the long, bumpy ride to the property from the airport. Next time we might take a boat and swim to shore. It would be worth it to visit Qambani again!

Just editing my review after management's response. The answer to them is below. The original review from 2019 is further below. - To the appalling management: we weren't asked to leave from your place the last time, that's factually untrue, aka a lie. We decided to leave your place. - Yes, there were yelling ,but not insults. We've never acted like this in other places, only in what could be the worst experience, and the worst value for money and incompetent management. The training courses should be directed to management as well as employees. - Re drinking. We rejected the open bar option, so it's impossible we were drinking that much. Another lie. - Again, the food was of the lowest quality, even simple things like eggs, were of subpar quality. - I'll be writing to the owners of this resort to suggest a change of management and a redo of what could've been a good business. Original comment: Overall this is a terrible hotel run by totally clueless, thick management. You’ll see below a number of points we were very upset at, but given safety is very important, I’d like to highlight some basic stuff this pretend high end hotel lacks: Safety: - There’s no phone in the room or connection at all with reception or the outside world. At night reception is closed and no one around to contact. We needed bandages for my wife’s sprain in the middle of the night and there was nobody to help, had to wait until 6.30am when I could find someone (of course with the usual language barrier). - The hotel is in the middle of literally nowhere, off a small road, so if something happens in the middle of the night (or the day, for that matter), you have nowhere to call. Staff/service - This was a consistent miss. Staff overall looked untrained, unprofessional, unhappy and clueless. Very few smiles or how are you, very few times we were asked how we were or offered a drink at the pool. They have a poor command of English (some of them no English at all like the kitchen staff), resulting in them standing there staring at us, evidently not knowing what we wanted. They were unfamiliar with the drinks list, in terms of brands, amount (single or double), etc. We had to ask for an ashtray every single time, even they saw us smoking on a daily basis. Sometimes orders were mixed up. Service was in general slow. This was particularly evident after the amazing service we had at The Rock Restaurant. Dining/food: - Breakfast: poor quality overall, sausages were cheap frankfurt style (we found exactly the same sausages in the much lower resort Karafuu); few options on charcuterie, just cheap salami and low quality cheese slices. The most annoying thing was we had to ask for real butter every morning as they had only margerine. More irking was the fact that staff didn’t know the difference between the two. Eggs were pale yellow yolk, indicative of poor quality. We asked for avocados, after 4 days they were unable to offer ripe avocados. Same with orange juice, they just did

What a magical place! In our opinion, the resort is one of the most beautiful on the planet. The staff, the hostess, everyone is soo friendly. The cook is amazing and chicken nuggets were made with love for our little girls (8 and 9 years old). We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. This was the perfect end to our holiday and we will not soon forget it fam. vd Linden and Bibi

Qambani is simply the most perfect place we have ever stayed. The setting, accommodation and service were exceptional in every way. Let’s get things straight, if you like nightlife, Michelin starred dining and constant, in-your-face service this place is not for you. However if you did you’d be silly to choose a barefoot retreat on the East Coast of Zanzibar, 90 minutes from any major development. But there in lies it’s charm. Deserted but with everything to hand. WiFi was strong and 3G/4G reception good. Service was relaxed, very attentive but never intrusive. Dining was tailored and individual, and the food altogether wonderful. Finally the beach. Don’t believe the reports you have read. It was what makes this place special. The sand was as white as can be, sea crystal clear and the beach totally deserted. The tide goes out miles when wading the rock pools in shoes (provided) is magical. When the tide is in swimming is more than possible but beware, you’ll be the only one in the water. After 5 days here Stone Town was a hectic shock! Pick Qambani and you won’t be disappointed. Maite was the perfect host. A wonderful manager who really cared about you and your stay in this small piece of Paradise.

On our trip to Zanzibar we stayed 3 nights in this hotel on the east side of the island. The hotel is only for ~15 guests and therefore there is enough space to relax and do not be distributed. The rooms are beautiful and the out-door-shower made fun. There was a turndown service, preparing your bed to be mosquito free. The personal is very friendly, but almost too "distant". They dare to bother you, meaning you might not be asked for hours if you want to drink something. After traveling to other places now, the food was good, but not excellent. They had quite some nice ideas and options but not rememberable tasteful. Overall nice location, with some options for improvement in service.

My daughter and I left our hearts here. The natural beauty made us speechless and the resort ambiance made this an ethereal home for three nights. Words can’t capture the magic of this place and the staff is amazing. Thank you, Maite and team!

A wonderful secluded hotel that used to be a home to a rich European family, comprised of 8 individual spacious villas and tasteful decorated with antique and modern pieces of both African flair and European touches. It is a true gem and the service is customized to your every need at the 5 star standard that you would expect! They take care of everything and submit your menus to you ahead of time to make sure it fits your dietary restrictions and preferences and that you are eating to your liking - all served by a professional chef and served in an idyllic setting. The staff and the hotel concept is very discreet, you have their contact and you communicate via messages, Priscilla was literally at my finger tips. Maite was very welcoming and managed to organize everything for me so my stay is as smooth as possible and it was!

I am simply amazed. The place was a true paradise, a perfect getaway. We spent a family holiday there and we all fell in love with the place. It’s unique story, breathtaking design, every remarkable interior detail, the amazing food, smiling and helpful staff, local ecosystem… Serenity at its best! There probably aren’t enaugh words to describe our gratitude for Maite, who made our stay truly memorable one. Will definately go back, a paradise on earth!
