First Of all, the location is abit far from areas BUT it does give a very relaxing and quiet morning everytime you wake up and decide to walk to the nearest lawson. Booked the private japanese garden and it was worth it ! Came here in the winter so really cooling weather. Staffs working there and good english communication skills which makes foreigners feel welcomed. Everything about this Ryokan is 10/10. WOULD definitely come again if i come by to japan and kyoto

We had booked a suit with a private garden, but due to the cold weather, we were unable to enjoy the view outside. Additionally, the ground heating only worked in the living room, making the bedroom very cold. As a result, we opted to sleep in the tatami room with a futon bed.
The hotel is located in the middle of a mountain, and it can only be reached by a 15-minute taxi ride. There are no restaurants or convenience stores in the vicinity, but the hotel has a small canteen where you can get meals (not sure, but they provide breakfast with an additional charge). It's recommended that you prepare your meals or bring some snacks to the hotel.

The location is a bit far away from the rest of the city but it's still close to a very beautiful temple (Ninna-ji). The traditional japanese breakfast was very good and the Ryokan is well taken care of. You can walk around the hotel for a relaxing time in the suburbs of the city. Nevertheless, if you like walking, going to the more touristic spots is only a 60 minute walk away.

The location was not good as the car stopped running early in the evening, the room was cold and there was a lot of hair on the blanket and pillow. The staff were very friendly.

It can be said to be my dream house! The big tatami living room and the Japanese-style garden are beautiful! In Japan, where small houses and small gardens are common, such a large villa is rare. The hotel has breakfast, lunch and dinner that can be booked separately. The taste is very good and the restaurant environment is beautiful. Because the hotel is located in the mountains (far away from the city and very quiet), the air is humid and the room is on the first floor, which is relatively cold, so there is a musty smell in the house and bedding as mentioned in the previous comments (our own clothes have been hanging in the house for two days and this smell has appeared, not that the hotel is not clean). The only drawback is that there is no mouthwash cup in the bathroom; and although the garden is private and others cannot enter, other guests can see the living room through the garden, and the privacy is not good. There are no restaurants and convenience stores within 1.5 kilometers around the hotel. It is highly recommended to friends who like to experience traditional Japanese accommodation; travel friends who like lively and shopping should choose carefully.

The location is not convenient for public transportation, but taxis are easy to get. There are two buildings, old and new, surrounding the courtyard. The new building is brighter and more spacious, with an additional small courtyard and a huge public living room, but both have the smell of new wood, varnish and new tatami. Luggage needs to be carried up the long stairs on the second floor by yourself.
I bought the homemade breakfast at the store, which was affordable and rich, and I was very satisfied.
