Rondador Cotopaxi

I stayed at Rondador Cotopaxi for five nights. It’s a family-run establishment with a welcoming a**osphere. My room was perfect for what I needed (hot shower!) but be aware that sound travels easily. The restaurant and balcony have amazing views of Cotopaxi when the weather aligns. Everyone was helpful during my stay - from offering me tea when I arrived having lost my voice coming down from Chimborazo, guiding me through Cotopaxi national park and Quilotoa lake, and to my late night transport to Quito airport. Lunch times can get quite busy when the tour groups come in, so I’d try to avoid that period if you can.

Fernando and his family were so friendly and welcoming. The property was in a perfect location for our Cotopaxi adventure. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast included was delicious. Every meal was delicious actually with plenty of choices for everyone. We didn’t have any excursions planned when we arrived so Fernando booked everything for us. The property has 3 llamas you can feed and some very friendly dogs. I would definitely recommend the Rondador Cotopaxi for your Cotopaxi adventures. You will not be disappointed.

From the second we arrived at Rondedor guesthouse we felt at home and safe. It's the most wonderful, safe haven on the edge of the Cotopaxi national park. Ferdinado is the kindest host who organized a well priced taxi for us from Latacunga to the guesthouse. We had some of the best food we have eaten in Ecuador there (chicken curry, best potato soup, best hot chocolate, delicious pork chops, best breakfast) beside the cozy fire. The portions are huge and well priced. The garden has lamas which we were lucky enough to be able to feed. Their driver (Don Fransico) took us on 30 dollar tour to cotopaxi in the morning which was so worth it and even included a cozy lunch when we came back freezing afterwards. Ferdinando even played a concert for us in the evening and we all danced. They did our washing and made sure we had everything we needed. This was my favorite place to stay in Ecuador and I didn't want to leave. On the day we left we saw cotopaxi from the garden! Thank you Ferdinando and your family. Could not recommend this more highly!

Great hoste were we went for one night. A good deal in order to be close to Cotopaxi entrance and the highway. Then they can help to get a transport to enter the park or anything else. The food is excellent and the owner really helpfull. He didnt hesitate to drive us to the highway were we took the bus for Latacunga and even wait until we got the good one.

We had a wonderful time in the Rondador. Fernando ensured we felt at home the entire time and was more than accommodating always helping us and providing us with ideas for our trip. We also took part in the Cotopaxi trip which was amazing and great value. Great food, great people and a great time. Would absolutely recommend!

Fernando and his family are fantastic hosts. They make sure from the moment you contact them to have everything arranged for you to just relax and enjoy of the Cotopaxi volcano and its surroundings. The hostal is cozy and with plenty of rooms to spend your nights after an expectacular expedition during the day. The food is authentic and very very delicious, make sure to try their canalezo and locro de papa.

The accommodation was very clean and cosy. Fernando the owner is super friendly and helps you with any needs. The Food was amazing with a reasonable price. The location is just as good as the accommodation itself, we went with guide to the Cotopaxi up to the refuge. it was a fun tour and we enjoyed the views.

Such a lovely spot, Fernando and his staff are so helpful and are there to do anything they can for you. I would definitely stay here again because it was so cozy with the fireplace in the dining area and a pseudo fire in your room.
