The staff was not very welcoming and friendly

I have never seen a hotel with such amazing showers. Just by themselves, they make a huge difference in the stay. In terms of location, you have hotels that are right by the river and have an amazing view that this hotel does not have, but for business this hotel was perfect. Staff was very nice and helpful, breakfast buffet is plenty, and internet was working as expected.

This hotel deserves to be 5 star. Their hotel staff was amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. They went above & beyond to make sure my trip was memorable. They even helped arrange transportation through Patrick, who was extremely reliable and professional. The on-site food was great too, and at a great price! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The entire experience was wonderful with exceptional staff service. From the warm welcome at reception to the great food and service of the restaurant and lastly a sad farewell upon departure. Please keep it up and hope to visit again soon.

Amazing friendly staff. We loved staying here and will be back. Food is pretty good. Staff were very helpful in arranging transfers and activities. Overall a really great experience. Can’t say enough about the customer service and how much we appreciated all of the wonderful people who worked at the hotel and treated us with such kindness and respect. This was also true of everyone we met in Zambia. We will definitely be back.

I decided to concentrate my time on seeing beautiful things and less time in airports so I used this hotel as the center point. Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, and Namibia were on my bucket list. The hotel staff were friendly from the front desk Rogers, Mphako, Lister and Natasha were always there for direction and personal issues. Ruth was my guardian angel for my room attendant. Mike and Joseph were on guard for my electrical issues. Mapoma and Grace were all speed ahead for my bookings and transports. The property was quiet, clean, close to downtown and delightful at every turn. I am so very pleased I made this choice. All of my expectations were exceeded at every turn.

Upscale hotel, with good food and friendly staff. I came just for a night and they made everything so simple from airport pick up to activities. Mapoma was working the activities desks and helped me arrange various activities and rides on short notice. He, Kelvin and the rest of the staff make this place very welcoming. They provided everything I needed for the stay. Would highly recommend

Our fabulous 6- night stay started with a warm, friendly and efficient check-in by the front desk staff. At Protea, everyone was so welcoming and helpful right from the start. Staff professionalism and level of service throughout our stay was unsurpassed. The entire Protea team is committed to delivering a memorable experience to its guests and it did ! The ambiance, service and food quality at the bar and hotel restaurant were excellent. Rooms were modern and comfortable with good air-con. Ruth was our housekeeper and she did a great job daily. There is an exceptional tours/ travel service and gift shop located on the property run by Grace and Mapoma, who are conveniently available daily for information, tour bookings and to arrange local taxi transfers. They offer great options for local tours at very reasonable prices and responded rapidly to emails when we sent inquiries prior to arrival at the hotel. Thank you Grace and Mapoma for all your help ! You guys rock ! We'd also like to send a special shout-out to all the ever-smiling hotel staff who provided exceptional customer service. From Reception: Belinda, Lister, Rodgers, Natasha and Hildah. Waiters/bartenders: Aaron, Gift and Henry. Our apologies as we cannot recall the names of all the other special team members. We also need to extend our sincere thanks to the GM, Ms. Tanya Stephens who helped us navigate thru a maze of issues caused by a sudden international flight cancellation. Great hotel, staff were so helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Food and cocktails were good. The activity centre was very helpful. Hotel is well looked after and great for a relaxed holiday with the children and seniors.
