Steve made us feel at home, right from the off. Compared to other, similar offerings, this was as if we were visiting an old friend. Professional, in every regard, but without the forced formality you tend to find at a hotel or other high end establishment. Having just the 8 rooms lends itself to delivering an air of familiarity, which meant we were immediately relaxed in our new surroundings. The Wine tour is highly recommended. Whilst the wine is pretty good (and the grapes on the vine super sweet & tasty), Steve's enthusiasm for what he does and the history of the farm, is unsurpassed. He quickly puts everyone at ease, is happy to answer as many questions you might have and demonstrates his skill as a host, breaking down the barriers that come with a group of strangers coming together for the first time. It made the rest of the stay even more pleasant, that we had met all our fellow guests for the evening, enabling some relaxed "chit chat" at the bar. Our room had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Both the room and the hallway area outside gifted us the aroma of fresh laundry (you need to tell me what fabric conditioner you use please, it really was delightful). Dinner was a triumph. You can tell when everything is freshly prepared, local and cooked with passion. Unlike other places I have experience of, Chef really wanted to know what we thought his food and was happy to spend as much time with us as we wanted, talking about something we both love. Him cooking it and me eating it! We will definitely be back, and if you're passing, do try the wine!
