Marlyn Lodge – City of London

Location: Was great, very close to Tower bridge (8min walk), very close to underground station (6min walk). Breakfast at Wetherspoon (1min walk) Accommodation: very neat, very clean, bedding was crisp. Inside the apartment a lot of renovation has been done to ensure upkeep of the place. Apartment well sealed to keep the cold out. Lots of new stuff inside the apartment. Check in process: self check in and self check out. Quick and easy

My trip is coming up. Please be aware that I have been ghosted by the hotel when I made an inquiry about cancelling my booking. I was essentially told to f off. Beware of what you are getting yourselves in to with this property.

Marlyn Lodge is very convenient to two Tube stops, Tower Hill and Aldgate. It's a short walk to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge as well. There's a grocery store steps from the main door. In other words, the location is fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay in our clean one bedroom flat that featured a large living/dining room, a separate bedroom, a bath, and kitchen complete with dishwasher, washer/dryer combo, cooktop and oven, plus cookware, dishes, and staples like sugar and salt. It would be very helpful to have instructions on how to use the appliances in the flat. Even YouTube didn't help us with the washer/dryer combo, which took 2.5 to 4.5 hours to complete a load of laundry. We needed instructions! It was nice to have our flat serviced just about every day. Our trash was removed, bed was made, dishes washed, and towels replaced almost daily. Some suggestions for management are to put sheer curtains or blinds on the windows facing the school across the street. We could see into classrooms and they could see into our flat when we opened the curtains for light. Check-in and check-out were seamless and the staff we met were accomodating. For what you get in one of the most expensive cities in the world, Marlyn Lodge is good value.
