Despite my younger brother's strong recommendation, I usually lean towards Huazhu Group hotels (I've been a loyal customer since Hanting, then Ji, Orange, and Crystal Orange first opened). Every guest has different expectations, and no hotel can cater to all. This was my first time staying at Atour, and while it certainly has its pros and cons (which many others have already pointed out), I'd like to share my personal experience.
1. Upon check-in, four of us were checking in, but only two welcome drinks were offered, which was a bit disappointing.
2. Being used to Ji and Orange hotels, I habitually asked if breakfast was complimentary. The answer was no; it was over 300 RMB for four people daily, discounted to a little over 200 RMB. As we were staying for three days, tended to wake up late, and ate lightly, we decided against it. The staff member processing our request gave us a rather disdainful look (though I might be overthinking it). In fairness, we didn't even partake in the complimentary evening porridge, so we're not ones to take something just because it's free. (chuckle)
3. I actually came with the intention of experiencing the hotel's bedding and perhaps buying some pillows to take home, but the soundproofing was so poor that I didn't get a single good night's sleep.
4. We woke up late and bought mung bean porridge and fried dough sticks from outside. With no small dining table available, we had to eat on the bed, which was quite uncomfortable.
5. The hotel didn't inform us about any of its amenities or services. For instance, they had a chain coffee brand available, yet we spent a considerable amount of time searching for one outside. We also had no idea about the fruit-infused tea that was tucked away behind the lobby.
6. The TV and movie features were quite substandard. While I could overlook the fact that international access didn't work, even casting from domestic phones was impossible.
7. Water stains on the bathroom vanity couldn't be wiped away with the hotel towels; we had to resort to using tissue paper. The sink itself could also use an upgrade or replacement.

This Yaduo is the most comfortable one I've stayed in in the past month. The front desk staff are super enthusiastic and the service is super good. The room is large and the soundproofing is very good, unlike other Yaduo hotels with poor soundproofing. People walking by the room door make a lot of noise. The Mudan Square subway entrance is 20 meters away. Although it's not close to popular attractions like Yingtianmen, it's only 5 stops away from Yingtianmen, and it takes about 25 minutes to ride an electric bike. Compared to the B&Bs near the ancient city, this one is much more comfortable. It's next to Wanda, and although there are not as many snacks as in the ancient city, it's still very convenient to go wherever you want by scanning a shared electric bike.
The service was excellent. I arrived just after 9 AM, and they were able to check me in right away, several hours ahead of schedule. The evening congee was also quite good. The laundry service was also excellent; even though it's officially self-service, if you leave your dirty clothes in the laundry room, the staff will proactively wash, dry, and return them to your room. The location is also great; in the evening, you can take a 5-minute walk to Peony Bridge to admire the night view of the Luo River.
This hotel is located right above the MRT station which makes it very convenient for traveller to visit many of the tourist sites quickly and in comfort. The hotel
Service level is excellent especially the front desk reception and restaurant personnel. They make us feel very welcome and important.
The room is clean and cleverly design for a very comfortable night stay. The bed is firm and comfortable and the rooms are quiet due to the high floor and good sound insulation which is not common in this country. Overall a value for money stay much better than those offered by international chain. Keep up the good value service.

The room is spacious, bright and clean, and the bedding is very comfortable. During my trip, I stayed at Homeinn, Hanting and Atour, and Atour was the most impeccable👍🏻The beauties and handsome guys at the front desk were very enthusiastic. We arranged early arrival and late checkout for free. We had a very happy stay😁

The hotel's location is superb, just a short walk from Luoyi Ancient City, South Street, the Duke of Zhou Temple Museum, and the Yingtianmen Relics Museum; we mostly explored these on foot. For public transport, a bus stop is conveniently located less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Parking facilities are also excellent, and a large supermarket nearby makes shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel maintains high standards of cleanliness, and our room featured a thoughtful layout with very comfortable bedding. The breakfast spread was quite generous and offered a good variety of nutritious options. The front desk staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, resolving any issues we had immediately – truly commendable!
