Genuine review of Hotel Sonar Bangla ***darmoni In one word "horrendous".Downright *****. Such a sham. We lost an samsung watch and INR 7800 cash from our wallet.When we intimated them they refused to show us the CCTV. Instead they intimated us that they will get the family not leave by the local goons. For the price they charge their rooms are stingy and horirbly dirty linen. The ***ager Anindya Krishna Mukjerjee/Banerjee also was shamelessly flirting with our nanny saying "why do young girls need to work so hard when they can ***age so much more easily. We had booking for two nights however we checked out on the first day itself after the theft . They dint even offer a refund.infact downright refused. I dint want to go to the ***dar***i local police station as I was with kids. I stayed the other night @ Prime beach which was a welcome break. I suggest others to be very careful if they ever decide as apart from luxury banyan and prime beach this is the only recognized property here

Just one night stay was good enough to rejuvenate us in this fabulous hotel. Stunning views from platinum room where it's like living with the sea waves sitting in the balcony, on the sofa or bed. Tasty food served in the restaurant with a wonderful breakfast spread. Staff are courteous and friendly. Beautiful lawn and easy beach access even for elderly

Overpriced as compared to the facilities available. Only good point is that the hotel is located right on the beach. It is rated 3 star but I really do not know how come it got the rating in spite of serving such below ordinary food! Food was greasy, utensils were not up to the standard, flies were there everywhere in the restaurant. You would feel like you ordered food in a low quality village restaurant with 3 star price tag! The staff in the canteen and housekeeping try to serve their best. But their lack of vocational training is clearly evident. It seems the hotel ***agement never bothered to spend on training hu*** resources to being them to the quality of a 3 star hotel. The reception area does not look like anything I would correlate with a 3 star hotel, it is so below average! So is the behaviour of the reception staff and ***ger, they are lacking the warmth and professionalism both which a customer would expect from a decent hotel ***agement. I stayed through out the world in 3 star or 5 star hotels, I hardly felt so disappointed ever by the bathroom area which was there in the sea facing Platinum room (where I stayed). The booking team contacted me through out as ''Sir'' in emails though I repeatedly corrected them that I am a wo*** and not ***! Again comes lack of basic training. Overall staffing need to be properly trained to bring the hotel to a 3 star standard! These untrained people are working hard with best intentions but they can not match the expectations of a customer who wanted high standard. ***agement needs to spend some money on both the facilities as well as hu*** resources if they want to carry on asking for such exorbitant price from the boarders.

Recently I stay in Hotel Sonar Bangla ***dar ***i , service is very poor and specially hotel is very poor condition, balcony was not clean dustbin kept and minibar fridge was unclean previous guest food was there unable to use, specially driver room was horrible,it was changed Rs 1235 room was so dirty water comming from wardrobe ,staff is very rude specially front office staff . Total experience review is very very poor westage of money multiple time I stay in sonar Bangla kolaghat i didn't face any issue, Please take care of staff otherwise guest will not come back

I went against my friends suggestions and agreed for Sonar Bangla, as they have good properties in taki and Kolaghat. Stay period 16th to 17th June 2023 But much to our surprise this hotel was worst than a roadside lodge, though we paid 6100/- per room per night, which is the rate of any good 5star deluxe hotel. 1. House keeping - we literally had to ask someone to clean the WC, as it was full of black stains. 2. Ac is just not effective as they have installed some minimal window ac’s. 3. Restaurant -most arrogant restaurant ***ager and team. They literally went from table to table asking people to talk quietly, even though we were the most sober people around. The reason for them was that they were unable to listen to the in-house calls on their backdated phone system. 4. Overall - we wasted our money here. Don’t want others to be fooled. I booked two AC Deluxe rooms in the hotel on 7th March 2023 from the Hotels website for April 13 to 15th 2023. while Booking there was a banner on the booking portal of 25 % discount on all bookings but when I selected the type of room and proceeded for payment and made payment the booking confirmation and Invoice for booking showed no discount amount. I immediately wrote a mail to the Hotel in reply they informed that the booking is for April 2023 and there is no discount for the month of April. Again on 2nd April I browsed the website and the Booking portal and found that there is the same Banner of 25% discount. I immediately sent an email with all the screen shots of discount in April. The hotel Authority replied that as you have Booked in the month of March 2023 as per their Policy Discount is available only if booked in April. I feel I have been deceived mislead by the Hotel. As full Room rent was paid I had no option cancellation I would have further incurred loss. I was allotted rooms on second floor and in one Room Room No. 302 water from AC of adjacent room was flooding the Balcony. I informed the housekeeping thrice on 14th April 2023 only, water was mopped only once when room was cleaned but source and leak was not repaired and for the whole day the balcony was flooded. The hotel claims to be a luxury star hotel but facilities need more improvement to be a star hotel.

The hotel is very shabby and behaviour of the staff is very rude and they will ask you to leave even when there is a booking of better room and they will offer you lower category room.Booked see view room but offered rooms under maintenance and large working labourers moving around the room lobby.Foods not commensurate cost.I am forced to leave without co****sation

I should have gone through the consistently bad reviews on this channel before deciding to book. GOOD: Given the fabulous location and the expanse of the estate, and the location w.r.t the beach, they have squandered all this advantage in running a poor show. BAD: 1. Grounds in front of the AC Platinum rooms (I was at room 17) are poorly maintained and filled with rubbish. A great opportunity lost in landscaping it beautifully, as a result it is a sad view to the eyes, 2. Bathroom washbasin was broken, and there is no shower curtain to prevent the bathroom floor from getting wet due to shower usage. 3. AC was not working for most of the time during our 1 night stay, and irresponsible addressing of the problem required multiple attendants being called multiple times to fix it. 4. French windows are not airtight, so moist air from the sea comes in, resulting in muddy floors. They had to mop it several times. 5. Restaurant is basic and needs to be made more modern, and staff needs to be trained in modern ways. Seemed like a low-end wedding buffet system at both dinner and breakfast times. 6. Prices are too high for all this. Unacceptable. Regards,
