The Avatar Hotel & Convention

Yesterday I came to Mangalore for the first time and was staggered by the development of the city from the airport itself. However, my stay at the Avatar Hotel literally took my breath away. I was amazed by the creativity in design and especially their food & beverage offerings. The room and our stay was absolutely wonderful. What was particularly amazing was the super efficiency exhibited by the whole team. It was easy to see ‘why‘ after I met the visionary owner, Prashanth. What a superstar and truly an incredible hotelier and leader! I would recommend this hotel to all without a second thought and await the new Avatar hotels in the pipeline with bated breath. A new place of stay (apparently only 4 months old as informed by the staff) in Mangalore. Clean and decently sized rooms (even the basic Alcove rooms are spacious), decent underground parking (but shared by big bazaar which is housed in the same building). The approach and exit to and from the parking needs some improvement. Extremely steep and the worst part is speed humps on an up hill incline on the exit side. Small things, but can go a long way in customer experience. Also, the sound proofing of the rooms is really bad. You can hear every door of your neighboring rooms getting closed and opened and also hear the footsteps of every person walking past your room. It was surprising though that for the 3300 tag price the room carries, there was no breakfast included. Did not use their restaurant. So not really sure on how that is.

I had the pleasure of visiting Mangalore on the 17th of October 2023, where I was greeted with a warm welcome despite my late arrival at night after a 12-hours long journey. One of the first things that captured my attention was a stunning wall-to-wall mural behind the front office desk. This remarkable artwork vividly depicted the cultural heritage of Karnataka, featuring Kola performances, Kambala races, and other local traditions that have gained recent pan-India popularity thanks to the movie "Kantara." It served as a captivating introduction to the exciting experiences that awaited me during my stay. Let's talk about the accommodation. The rooms were tastefully appointed and impeccably clean. I particularly appreciated the Skylight Suites, which, while lacking a balcony, featured a beautifully decorated and spacious sitting area with a skylight adjacent to the main room. This clever design made the room feel more expansive. However, it's worth mentioning that the washrooms could benefit from better ventilation. In terms of dining, the food was satisfactory, but I would suggest diversifying the menu to include more vegetarian options to cater to a wider range of preferences. Now, let me highlight the standout feature of my stay – the in-house transportation services provided by the hotel. They operated with exceptional efficiency, boasting well-maintained and spotlessly clean vehicles. The chauffeurs were not only punctual but also displayed the utmost professionalism. I must give a special commendation to Mr. Balraj, who not only ensured our smooth transport to the temples we had planned to visit but also offered valuable insights into darshan durations. His willingness to take us to additional temples during our journeys, such as the Mariamman Temple in Mangalore, Rajarajeshwari Temple in Polali, Bappanadu Parameshwari Temple in Mulki, and Uchchila Maha Lakshmi on the way to Udupi (and possibly more that I can't recall at the moment) was truly exceptional. His knowledge of cultural immersion opportunities, especially during Navratris, was remarkable, and he even introduced us to experiences like the Yakshagana performance at Kadri Manjunatheswar. As my trip had a strong focus on pilgrimage, his insights into these sacred places were invaluable. His careful and considerate approach as a driver was exemplary. Not once did he engage in rash driving, even in the challenging and treacherous forested, mountainous routes that we encountered. Furthermore, Mr. Balraj's helpful nature shone brightly throughout our journey. With my elderly parents accompanying me, his assistance was greatly appreciated. He went above and beyond to ensure their comfort and well-being, offering his support at every turn. His unwavering dedication to both our safety and enjoyment of the trip made him an indispensable part of our experience. Mr. Balraj truly embodies the spirit of excellence in service. I visited the avtar hotel mangalore last week, it was actually very nice. Had food in the loft restaurant the food was also pretty tasty. I would not forget to mention the ambience of the hotel which was very calm. So many paintings in the wall which attracts people. Overall its a nice place to stay, have food, and enjoy also

The stay was amazing, well mannered staffs and the food was also good. The room is maintained well with all amenities. Would recommend this hotel for both business as well as family stay as it is in city centre and very convenient to move around.

Excellent hospitality Staff is co operative. Clean and neat place with good food. Spacious and well maintained rooms. Ample of parking space and a good reception and lobby area. If i happen to visit mangaluru again, i will definately book my stay here Over all 👌👍👌👍👌👍

This is a new property near the railway station. We first time stayed at this property in Mangalore and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The place is relatively new and we'll maintained. The staff is courteous and the complementary breakfast served in their restaurant had very good options. Only con is it is bit far from the beach I would highly recommend this place for stay while visiting Mangalore.

Excellent for a 4 star hotel. Every corner beautifully designed. Food was great at the Loft. Also, very pleasant staffs, each and everyone, from the house keeping to reception. Special mention : Shivani and Rahul Tiwari. Strongly recommend this place if u r in Mangalore.

Stayed at this hotel with my mom. The rooms were in excellent condition. The decor is modern and aesthetic. They provide glass bottles instead of plastic which is such a great initiative. The rooms are very well-priced so it is not too heavy on the pocket either. Not much to do in the hotel as the gym and spa is still a WIP. I wish there was a pool, would have made the hotel perfect. It is still worth every penny though. The breakfast buffet here is top-class. I had it on 3 different mornings and enjoyed it each time. The restaurant staff is lovely. They tailor-made dishes from the live counters exactly to my liking. Compliments to the restaurant manager and Sharmila, one of the servers for making sure each breakfast was memorable. For the stay I preferred the sunset studio over the sunrise room. Both are excellent though. I got upgraded to the studio for minimal extra cost. The location of the hotel is ideal as it is close to most places. Literally, every restaurant is at a 5 min distance from the hotel. Visit them especially to experience 5-star hotel-level hospitality. I have stayed at some very fancy hotels in the past and found these people just as good. The staff is kind, sweet, and do everything possible to make your stay pleasant. Special mentions & compliments to Nilesh, Shivani, and Vitthal. Even the people providing room service / helping with the luggage were sweet and helpful. A handy tip: Book the room directly by calling the hotel to get better deals. Thank you Team Avatar for making this trip a memorable experience for us. I shall come back to Mangalore just to re-experience Avatar.
