Tom and Sherry were wonderful hosts that looked after all needs. It is a beautiful boutique hotel with a short walk to the beach, but you don't spend most of you time there as you are out on adventures on the beautiful mountainous island of Dominica. We had all breakfasts and some lunches and dinners prepared by Sherry and her staff and they were delicious. On some of our longer days we stopped at restaurants. We explored the island on hikes, saw some beautiful waterfalls, crossed rivers, went canyoning, whale watching, and to a permaculture farm. Best holiday if you love the outdoors.

Dominica is a very beautiful island. Wanderlust provided a full experience of hiking, waterfalls, canyons, snorkeling, whales which you most likely could not do yourself. Tom and Sharie are fantastic hosts and gave us a very rich experience. We felt that the itinerary was methodical and well thought out. No stress even though our days were busy with multiple adventures a day. I do not think we ever saw another tour group on any adventure. Quite refreshing. Bambam was a primary tour guide and did a great job enriching us in culture, plant life, and making us feel safe. Wish I could remember everything Bambam pointed out. Wanderlust Hotel is an excellent hotel. Very comfortable. Would I recommend Wanderlust? Absolutely 100%!

It's hard to find the words to describe our trip. Amazing, incredible, and breathtaking just don't do it justice. Every day we had new adventures, whether hiking, swimming at the base of waterfalls, soaking in hot springs, whale watching, snorkeling, visiting a permaculture farm, or just exploring the water and shore around the hotel, it was a beautiful and enjoyable experience. I felt like we were leaving old friends by the time we had to come home. Tom and Sherry worked hard to make sure everyone had a good time. Breakfast was served at one big table in the morning, and everyone's dietary preferences were accommodated. Here we were told what we would be doing and what gear was needed for the day. We usually spent most of the day out, then came back after dinner at a fabulous (though not fancy) restaurant. We kept our windows open, and the sound of the waves and the breeze off the ocean lulled us into a deep sleep each night. One night before bed, we even walked up to the rooftop deck and spent some time stargazing, with minimal light pollution. Wanderlust is the perfect place for active days and comfortable nights. While this was the trip of a lifetime for me, I would recommend that you don't come here if you're looking to lie on the beach all day or want to shop. We were active and physically challenged many of the days in rugged and relatively undeveloped areas. Personally, this is the best vacation I've been on, and I hope to be back soon!

We had a great time in Dominica with Wanderlust. Tom worked hard to customize the trip to showcase the highlights of Dominica and provide exciting adventures for all of us, including my 83-year-old dad, who had a blast, and more importantly didn't get injured even while pushing himself to the limit. We appreciated Tom's knowledge, love and respect for Dominica. Tom made sure everybody in our group ticked their top items off their list, while Sharie cooked amazing meals. My only complaint is the amount of driving-- Dominica is small but the roads are windy, so it takes almost 2 hours to get to Roseau and many of the big activities (waterfalls, canyoning). This made for some loooong days and car sickness.

Tom and Sherry are amazing hosts whose love of Dominica's natural wonders and its people permeate everything they offer their guests. I have traveled a lot in my lifetime and I have never been on an island that is so lush and beautiful or hosts that are so kind and warm. Tom and Sherry have a great sense of what will be exciting but well within the comfort zone of their guests so that each day and its adventures are a new learning experience. The rooms are gorgeous and their food is fresh and delicious.

Tom & Sharie are the best hosts that you could ever imagine. They worked tirelessly to provide us with as many Dominica experiences as possible. They treated each person equally, with respect, and concern for his/her enjoyment & safety. They appeared to be genuinely concerned that each person got the most from his/her stay. We spent a lot of time in the van. The roads in Dominica are hugely challenging. I felt very safe as Tom drove the curves and climbs. Tom and Sharie have developed an excellent rapport with the locals and have researched unique and quality experiences, often based on their local connections. Also. they hire and train local people as support staff. The hotel is unique. comfortable. clean, and just a wonderful base from which to enjoy and learn about Dominica. Although the hotel is a very cool place to stay, it is not the place for everyone. The stay centers around doing adventure activities so that you can fully experience Dominica. BTW - the food was excellent. Finally, Tom was VERY responsive when I contacted him with questions. Can you tell that we had a great time?!!

We spent 9 days with Sheri and Tom in Calibishie. The time flew by and we are already planning our next visit :). To us, the trip was the perfect mix of recharging and being active. There are endless opportunities to explore the beautiful nature of Dominica, and we felt that our experience was unique and authentic. Accommodation --> We stayed in the penthouse of the newly built hotel. It was very spacious with a large terrace offering a beautiful sea view. The hotel is conveniently located (20 min to the airport, restaurants, supermarkets and A** in town). Whenever possible, there was a joined breakfast for all guests in the morning before embarking on the adventure of the day. Day adventures --> The concept of Wanderlust is "no stress, no hassle, no hype". This could not have been more true: Guided by Tom and the local guides, we enjoyed amazing off-the-beaten track experiences as per our activities of choice (in our case, lots of hikes, canyoning, the visit of a Perma culture farm and a farmland walk around the hotel). Hospitality --> Sheri, Tom and their team of hand-picked local guides went out of their way to make us feel at home and cater to any needs and wishes. We find it admirable how they turned their passion - outdoor adventures - into a profession and inspire with their positive energy. On our last evening, they set up an intimate goodbye dinner for us on our terrace. Dear Sheri and Tom - thanks again for a fantastic time! We can't wait to be back :)!

Our stay at Wanderlust in Dominica exceeded our expectations. All of our needs were met with great consideration and well-designed days filled with excellent food, satisfying and rewarding experiences on the island. We truly loved not having to think about much other than showing up ready and open to how the day unfolded. This adventurous getaway from our busy, hectic lives allowed us to let go. We are so happy that we chose Wanderlust for our time on the island. Thank you!!!!

It is not surprising that Tom and Shari have all five-star reviews. They are super accommodating to make sure your stay is as perfect as possible. Before you book they will want to get to know you to make sure it is the right fit and what they offer is what you are after. If you love hiking, beautiful accommodations, waterfalls, hiking, great food, friendly and knowledgeable guides, fantastic views, snorkeling and hiking, you have found the right place. We have been to quite a few places in the Caribbean and this is now our favourite island (we definitely travel for the adventure and not the beaches, unless the beach has snorkeling). Locals are super friendly and there are no crowds of tourists - we had almost every excursion all to ourselves. You would be lucky to see one or two other groups on your trek. At the nicest beach on the island, our group was the only ones there. There would be less expensive ways to see the island, but if you can afford to splurge a little, it is definitely worth it. They take care of everything, so you get to squeeze the most out of every day. A decent fitness level is certainly needed to get the most out of the trip, but most hikes are not super strenuous. The canyoning trip was our favourite excursion but there was not a bad day (we were there for 10 days). Our only suggestion, if you are coming from Canada, is to bring some extra cash as our RBC bank card did not work in the bank machine - or maybe call your bank ahead of time to make sure it will work. Credit cards are widely taken, but a few times cash was needed. Thanks again Tom and Shari for a fabulous vacation and the invitation is still open to come visit if you make it this far north on your holiday at the end of the summer!
