The Three Pickerels

Lovely position right next to river recently tastefully refurbished. Staff were all kind, helpful and upbeat full of smiles. Really good chef excellent food really well presented and good value it even came on hot plates which for me is a must for hot food but rare these days. Massive outdoor area lots of comfortable seating well laid out. Ely city beautiful old buildings and superb cathedral lots of good coffee shops eating places and great marina area. We hope to go back in the summer

The service was good, but the steak pie was so hard and dry my husband couldn't eat it! We did get a refund for this. And my lemon and asparagus risotto didn't have any taste to it couldn't taste any lemon ! It was a shame as it was a special treat for us ! The place has a lovely view

An excellent base for exploring this area of the Fens. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was well worth paying the extra for river view and balcony. The staff were friendly. The food in the restaurant was very good. This was a real find and we were sorry to leave.

the hotel was beautifully decorated, the bed comfortable with a good powerful shower. The views are nice next to the river. All in all good value for money with a lovely pub & restaurant below. We had a glorious evening meal and sublime breakfast. The staff were all friendly and made us feel most welcomed. Would stay again.

Rooms and staff are good. Food could be better. Sure the setting is great when it’s not dark/raining/flooded The car park is small - no space when we returned on Saturday evening. We agreed at checkout when they replied to our comment there needed to be an inside way through to the restaurant with or a canopy. This would be better than going outside to walk round in all weather. Its a coffee pod machine that doesn’t take Nespresso capsules. To get hot water you have to turn the taps on full. Threw me at first. We were in room 6 and didn’t find noise an issue. Though in warmer weather it would be busier and noisier. We would stay again if in the area but will check out other options.

We happened upon the Three Pickerels by a lucky accident. We'd been let down by another bed and breakfast so looked elsewhere and found this gem. The booking process was easy and they were very quick to qnswer my email. We arrived to a busy buzz in the bar and shown to our room. The room itself was flawless. We had a lovely dressing room area, a really comfy bed, a sofa and a really nice bathroom. The addition of a good quality coffee machine along with a kettle and biscuits plus a well-stocked mini fridge made it feel even more special. The whole place was immaculate. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and found the food really tasty (the honey and chilli halloumi was such a hit we ate it both nights!). We also had breakfast each morning, which was really tasty and plentiful. We have to give a mention to the staff; every member was friendly and warm and we felt they really took pride in their workplace. We will definitely be back and can imagine how busy it'll get in the summer being in such close proximity to the river! Thanks for a great weekend.

Really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Staff amazing, food delightful. Beautiful room with lovely balcony and really good facilities. Have already recommended to others. Have visited 3 times and will look forward to visiting again.
