Il Girasole is perfect. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is delicious. The garden courtyard is beautiful. The decor is charming. But most of all, the hosts are so friendly and kind! Even though we only stayed a short time, they made us feel like family. I can't put it into words: you must visit for yourself. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Milan.

The hotel/guesthouse is easily reached from the centre of Milan by metro followed by a short walk (past a nice bakery). Il Girasole looks unconventional, being a converted factory building. A nice courtyard is hidden behind a metal entrance door. Matteo and his brother are extremely nice hosts, who can provide enthusiastic advice on sightseeing in Milan.
Our room was one of the two behind the courtyard which, unfortunately, the WiFi signal from the main building didn't reach - but was fine if you sat outside near reception/breakfast room.
Room was clean and comfortable and spacious enough for chairs and a table. Bed was too firm for me (not my wife) so just luck of the draw.
No tea/coffee making facilities per the property description, but also no glass for a drink of water (complimentary bottle of water for the first night).
Nice breakfast: tea or coffee, a glass of fruit juice, a croissant and a salami and/or cheese roll.

Matteo our host was super friendly and welcoming and helpful.Inside garden and rooms a delight as it is in an previous industrial area.It was very hot out that was the only thing I didn’t like.Metroto Centre of Milan in 15 minutes was great and easy.

I chose this BB because I was looking for a simple place for a night near work. I arrived late in the evening and already on the phone I had the impression of the great kindness and helpfulness of the owners. The room is basic but has everything and is very clean. The surprise of the morning: an internal courtyard full of greenery, lounges with recovered vintage furnishings and a social breakfast table where everyone can feel like family. Truly top welcome, compliments to Matteo and Nicola

Hotel molto accogliente e caratteristico in zona nord Milano. La stanza tripla che ho utilizzato era in ottime condizioni, pulitissima e con tutti i comfort, la colazione eccellente (cappuccino e cornetto con la marmellata davvero ottimi ma soprattutto la michetta col salame che mi preparava mia mamma quando ero bambino... una vera e propria madeleine proustiana della milanesità! Matteo e Nicola sono anfitrioni gentilissimi e disponibilissimi, e il giardino interno dove servono colazioni e aperitivi è il tocco in più che dimostra la loro inventiva e originalità. Consigliatissimo.
