Myconian Avaton, a Member of Design Hotels

If you like eclectic design, endless views across the bay, great food, and super service, then you will like the Avaton Resort! I came with my sister for a relaxing late summer break, and we had a fabulous time. My sister has been to this property several times on business and thought I would like the hotel, the Islands with its beaches and history, as well as the local food - she was right. The property is well managed, and you get the feeling the people like working there. The guests are dressed chique, but not in a way that you feel out of place if you don't sport some designer labels, although some do arrive by helicopter. I recommend renting a car and exploring the Island, the beaches, and the off-the-beaten-track tavernas.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights the first week of June 23’ as the last destination for our honeymoon. Our stay included free breakfast buffet which was amazing - and the Italian restaurant at this resort was delicious; prices were very reasonable. The resort is spectacular with amazing accommodations, beautiful view of the terrain and beach. Our room included a large hot tub which was very useful. They offer two large infinity pools overlooking the below resorts and ocean/beach. The resort includes free transportation every 15 minutes or so to the beach and back; also transportation to Mykonos town for dining, nightlife, and shopping. The staff at the resort was super friendly and welcoming with 5 star service. Also access to the 4 other sister resorts that have different style restaurants with more things to do. We also did a spa day at Avaton and it was amazing. Would highly recommend this resort to anyone on a honeymoon or just a relaxing holiday/ vacation! - Room 9839

This is a nice facility, but the staff falls completely short of expectations a reasonable person would expect at a luxury hotel. We stayed 5 nights in May 2023. Front desk staff was woefully inept. Nearly every request was met with confusion. The pool bar manager was completely inept. Room service was slow. At breakfast (which was otherwise nice), it took an exceptionally long time to get a cup of coffee brought to the table. Facility-wise, my only complaint was the hot-tubs were not filled.

Im sorry, I think a lot of people would love this place but I absolutely hated it there but it was my fault, 3 things, #1 I didn't rent a car, #2 I was alone, #3 I am not high class, I was suppose to be there for 9 days, I couldn't take it after 3 days and got a flight home, paid outrageous money to get home but if I stayed one more day I would have lost it, It was sssssssssssssoooooooooo boring, OMG I still have post traumatic stress disorder lol, only one place to eat and it horrible to eat alone, the bar? not friendly at all, the people that worked there acted snobbish but that could have been they really didnt understand me or speak english very well, but I walked around for days bored out of my mind, the only nice thing I can say is THANK GOD IM HOME, I will write a review on the place I stayed at in Athens, The Gatsby, I loved it and everybody there I loved, I did not want to leave, it was so fun and the people were so nice and also I love love love Athens

Love love love this beautiful resort…. Our group was treated like Queens and Kings in the hotel and the luxurious spa.. Mykonos is like paradise and this was the perfect place for us to stay… I highly recommend this resort and if I ever go back to Mykonos, this resort will be at the top of my list

Absolutely loved our stay at Myconian Avaton! Such a beautiful hotel! The rooms are spectacular and the views are breathtaking. You are away from Mykonos town with this hotel, we wanted this as we wanted to relax away from the noise. However, they have a free shuttle that takes you to Mykonos town which was super convenient. Also, free shuttle down to private area down to Elias beach with free sunbeds. Again, the beach area is nice private area. If you’re looking for the party area of Elias, you can walk down the beach and head to that area very easily from where the shuttle drops you off. Would definitely stay here again!

This was a very beautiful resort. Although climbing up and down the hillside needed a bit of getting used to, the scenery more than made up for it. We had a lovely room with a private pool. My cousins got a room with a jacuzzi. In the day, the view was so brilliant blue and white. The resort itself had a red theme with pool side umbrellas that contrasted well with the blue. In the night, the resort and surroundings were all lit up and it was scintillating. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the staff were courteous and friendly. We were offered complimentary dessert wine. The resort was so pretty, we almost didn't want the night, ... or day to end!

Very nice hotel, beautifully designed, nice view, clean, nice and caring staff. We have room with private pool and beautiful view. Hotel Have private beach with full service. Defiantly would like to come back.

Overall a decent stay. Picturesque surrounding which was very magical. There are some minor details that happened that you kind of expect should not happen in a place like this. -our room had leaking sink in bathroom that leaked into the bedroom overnight. We alerted the staff but they never fixed it during our stay. -you do have to pay a cost for airport shuttles which should also be included. One cost for private one cost for shared. Our return shuttle was 20 minutes delayed causing our trip to end stressfully with a rush to the airport. Service should be end to end and this was disappointing as the staff and management were extremely dismissive. -the pool vibe was very clubby which caused it to be pretty messy during the day with cups plates and napkins everywhere. You expect at a night club but not at a Mykonos pool. -room was nice and beautiful surrounding. But the bathroom mirrors were all see through glass mirrors meaning zero privacy in the bathroom. Totally understand the sexy sea view attempt but no one wants a toilet that has a see through door. -shuttles to town and beach are free and run decently often which was a plus. -free lounge chairs at beach and it’s right down the hill walk or shuttle if you don’t want to walk the hills. This was a plus and you can order drinks or food if you want. -Wi-Fi broadly sucks at the hotel so plan accordingly with your mobile service. Overall a decent hotel. There were some hiccups here with the room and some of the service that you kind of expect more from on this part of Mykonos, but broadly a nice place.
