Lovely old hotel in a beautiful location. We went to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The room was very nice with a wonderful sea view. The DB&B included a £30.00 allowance for dinner. The best you could get for that was 2 courses of low quality pub grub. Overall the menu and level of service does not reflect the perceived standard of the hotel. We obviously had to go over the allowance but again the food quality was very poor. There didn’t seem to be anyone in charge and the atmosphere was like a student dining hall. The staff, although friendly enough, really need training in basic restaurant skills. Overall we expected more for the prices we paid.

Yummiest burger I’ve ever had! Super juicy burger 🍔 Amazing flavours and cooked to perfection. Chips were tasty too 😋 good service and the view was even better with sea in view! recommend if you fancy a delicious dinner with a tasty meal!!!

This is a first class hotel in a fantastic position. The hotel is immaculate and the staff are all friendly and totally proffessional. Food was outstanding and we must give special mention to Sarah in reception and Nicky in the restaurant. All in all a truly wonderful short holiday . Thank you.

I was told there was no availability for a table at 7 so we booked for 6pm but we left at 7:30 and it was empty? We’re not staying here but we came in for dinner as we’ve had amazing dinners here previously but this time was such a disappointment. The scallops were not fresh and very rubbery. The bread and olives came to the table after the starters and the mussels were not fresh, they were beyond rubbery and stale, so much so that we had to send them back. Leaving my husband to eat alone as we’d all finished our main meals. Apart from the steak, which was lovely, the other mains were not great! The vegetables were completely void of flavour. However the duck was edible and the wine was lovely. We’ve been here numerous times before including for a friends wedding but we won’t be coming back.

We visited this hotel with high hopes and first impressions were good. The hotel was lovely our sea view room was good with a lovely bathroom. My only complaint about the room was the fact there was only one comfortable chair . We had booked dinner for 5 pm and only got our first course 40 minutes later. It was fine but our main courses were terrible . I had chicken Kiev which was small and so overcooked it was dry all through it with the base hard . There should have been some lovly garlic juice coming out but there was none. The " fondant " potato was a hard little brick . I could buy a decent sized chicken Kiev for less than £2 in Aldi and it would have been far superior . My husband's lamb was a little pile of shredded lamb which could have come from any old bit of lamb. Breakfast was not much better the bacon was well overcooked and the pot of tea I got was lukewarm . You had to order anything from the continental breakfast and there was little choice of cereals or fruit . I complained about our dinner and found that nobody was at all surprised that we were not happy. Neither did we get a proper apology. We just could not face another night of this substandard food so we left after one night. We made a 270 round trip for this break so this was really gutting. Please believe me that I do not usually give poor reviews if they are not warranted . We have holidayed all over the UK and are really sad that Scottish hospitality might be judged on this hotel which in itself is a lovely place .

This resort is such a wonderfully relaxing place to stay. Spa- The spa is beautiful and I have to give special mention to Rosanna who delivered my treatments - she was professional, kind, warm and delivered the best massage I've ever had. Room- The room has wonderful touches such as sparkling water and quality flavoured teas / biscuits Restaurant - The staff are obviously highly trained and friendly/helpful. The food is tasty and well cooked. Improvements - The only room for improvement is the options available for those with allergies. As a coeliac I felt that dinner options and breakfast options were limited. I was also served a regular main meal after stating that I needed gluten free (thankfully i questioned this and it was quickly rectified) The snacks available in the relaxation room in the spa had snacks but with no dietary information so we were unable to have them. The room had no gluten free options (even with forewarning of dietary requirements). The lack of gluten free options would not stop us from returning as the stay was wonderful, but it would certainly make for a perfect experience if there was a wider variety / closer attention paid to allergies at dinner time. Thanks for having us.

Beautiful setting overlooking the sea, with lovely walks from the bottom of the garden along the seafront. The beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. We did the gourmet meal plan with a five course taster menu which was excellent. There is a spa and swimming pool, which makes for a very relaxing break.

Stayed three nights and loved everything (except that it was too cloudy to see any northern lights). Food was great - breakfast, tea, dinner all so good. The spa is great--my husband said his deep tissue massage was spot on and I so enjoyed a more relaxing full body version. Service is stellar with all the staff kind and friendly and helpful--feels family run and welcoming. We stayed in a junior suite with gorgeous views.

A great location overlooking the sea. The hotel interior and decor nicely done especially around the reception area on arrival made it welcoming upon checking in. Our hotel room was large and tasteful designed with plenty storage for our luggage. The Bar & Restaurant with its large glass frontage is really nice to sit in looking out towards the sea front. Our food at breakfasts and the evening meals was excellent. The Spa and leisure facilities are brilliant. All the staff we met and spoke with during our stay were warm, friendly and attentive - well done a great team! I will be back.
