A real nice get away. Friendly , knowledgable owner's that take a lot of pride in what they do. Pretty cool little get away! Secluded from the lane way up to lodge and to you hammock over seeing the lake. You'll love the breakfast and view in the morning as well

Sergio and his family were charming hosts! The lodge is secluded and peaceful in the rainforest above the lake with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The Ceiba Tree itself is spectacular. Breakfast was delicious every day, premium coffee and fresh, home-cooked food. We also reserved a three course dinner with wine one night and it was absolutely delicious. Room was cute and comfortable and there was a wonderful covered patio. Can't say enough about how lovely our stay was. We definitely plan to return in the future.

My partner and I went to Costa Rica mostly to surf but decided to stop by lake arenal on the way back to San Jose and we are so grateful we did! This lodge and the majestic ceiba tree that it overlooks are magical. The entire property is thriving with wildlife. Sergio, the owner, is so welcoming and knowledgeable about the local ecosystem. Breakfast is also to die for—both the food and the view are top notch. Highly recommend spending a few days here. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a excellent stay with a wonderful view on the Arenal vulcano and the old ceiba tree. The host welcomed us very warmly and we had a delicious diner with candel light. Highly recommended to stay here!

Great location and views. I added so many birds to my life list! I was hoping to see toucans, but didn’t get lucky. Breakfast was always delicious, and the coffee was so good. Sergio was very helpful, recommended some great places. The toilet paper receptacle was not very big and didn’t get emptied daily, so we had to use one of our plastic bags. Be advised it’s cash-only. I didn’t remember that, and we had to use almost all the cash we brought with us. Also, to actually visit the ceiba tree, it’s on a different property and you have pay.

We arrived later than planned (after dark) and didn’t get nearly as much time as we wanted here but Sergio and his family were the most wonderful hosts! It stormed in the night and we felt safe and secure then woke to a gorgeous view of the lake and the best breakfast of our entire trip. Sergio is knowledgeable and easy to talk with. ❤️

We came for an evening and stayed for the remainder of our vacation. We rented 2 rooms for 4 people. Sergio and Milady were gracious hosts. Their beautiful cats and dogs we as entertaining as the abundant wildlife! Needless to say, we loved our stay. The Avatar Tree out front brings a new level to the stay. I have stayed at the four seasons on the beach in Guanacast and I would say although a totally different type of hotel, we were just as excited to stay here at the Cieba Lodge. We will return for the food, the fun and the amazing hospitality. 5 stars!!!! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

We only stayed 1 night at the La Ceiba Tree Lodge, but wish we had stayed longer. Lovely quiet location with a fabulous view of the lake & volcano. There is good WiFi and private parking, room immaculate with terrific views from the terrace . The property has a huge Ceiba Tree in the garden which attracts lots of birds. We had a tasty breakfast on the lodge terrace. Both are accessible at the bed and breakfast free of charge. Sergio and his family are very friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here, highly recommend at stay here.

We have been thoroughly impressed with this place. The grounds, the view, the food, everything. And we can’t say enough about the family that runs it. We count them all as friends. One hundred percent recommended.
