Fantastic hotel . Lovely staff , clean rooms and great location. The area provides easy access to Vilamorma, old town and new town . The beaches are also easy to access. Loved our stay and would definitely return.

We had a lovely time here, small hotel with everything you could need, clean and friendly, breakfast was plentiful and had a huge range of breads etc, oranges to squeeze yourself which was lovely. Our room was spacious as was the shower room which was clean and modern. Lovely little balcony with a nice view. All this for only £200 per person including flights. It surpassed my expectations. What’s not to like! Oh and joy of joys no kids!!!!

Stayed at agua miranha 23-30th April & I'm going to start with the negatives (which are very minor) pool is cold but once you get in is really nice & warmer than the sea, shower cubicle is small but shower is Powerful & that is it, this hotel is a gem, very clean very friendly, short stroll to local restaurants (cheaper than in alberferia) super market just 5mins walk away, I cannot praise the hospitality of Paul, manish & the ladies (sorry I can't remember your names) it was 1st class, this holiday was just what I needed, relaxing & enjoyable, but if you want the BUSY bars it's only 8/9 euro's by taxi to old alberferia, I'm def coming back xx

We first visited Agua Marinha when we needed a holiday at short notice and this hotel was the first one to appear on the easyjet drop down menu. We came with a certain trepidation as it wasn't costing very much. This was in 2009. Our minds were quickly put at rest and here we are having recently revisited. Had we known we would come so often we would have kept count of the number but it must be approaching double figures. The hotel never lets you down. The people,Victor, Paul and the rest of the staff are so friendly and helpful. The place is clean, items like towels are changed daily, the pool is magnificent. It really is a jewel of a hotel.

A great little family run hotel. Would highly recommend it. Very quiet. A great base to get out and about. Hotel was spotless and rooms cleaned daily. Only thing I could complain about was the hard bed. The staff were all lovely and helpful.

Loved our recent stay in this small, but perfectly formed hotel. It has a really personal feel to it, and nothing was too much trouble. Manis and Paul were amazing hosts; really looked out for me when I was struggling with a bad throat; giving me advice and even some lozenges to help. The drinks were good value and the snacks included some good value options, such as toasties, burgers etc. The people we met were great company (chicken!) and we often had our last orders back at the hotel after returning from our evenings out, met by a smiling Manis or Paul. The beach was a 15 minute walk away which was a picturesque fishing beach with several eateries along the front: had fresh sardines a number of times by the beach. The food here is as you would expect from Portugal - fresh fish in all restaurants and we didn’t have one bad meal. Highly recommend the area and the hotel. We were told that they are undertaking improvements in the next few months so we will be rebooking for spring/summer next year. Well done to the team for making our stay a memorable one. Reason for 4 stars and not 5 is mainly due to the hard beds (which are being replaced) and the pillows were lumpy. Again this I’m told is all being upgraded.

What can I say , a perfect base if you just want a break from it all in peaceful spotlessly clean accommodation. Ok so it’s not the most up to date but it’s got charm and everything you could need ! We will definitely return , thanks to the owners and everyone working here x

THE GOOD Clean and tidy - the job the cleaners do can't be understated. A deep clean every day. Even made little patterns with my partners night clothes. General friendliness - all staff with wide smiles and always friendly. Although, we stayed away from the goldfishbowl night time drinking as my partner suffers with anxiety and preferred to use local cafes etc. Peacefulness - you're away from all the hussle + bustle of it all. No traffic and the only background noise was either birds, quiet chitchat and the daily 30 second dog bark whilst an excited local dog gets its dinner. Air conditioning - free and worked better than some I've paid for. Also worked with the door open, which was a huge bonus for reasons you'll see below. Snacks were decent. Bar drinks were 3 euros a pint, whether beer or pop (cheaper in other places but it's convenient) THE BAD Basic but nice enough breakfast. Main issue is that the ingredients never change. I accept a small selection each day, but the occasional change of cereal or change of jam, a different cheese or even a different fruit would be very welcome. We only bothered having 3 breakfasts out of 7, purely for fuel on a day we had a long trip out. THE UGLY We paid for the "deluxe room" and regret doing so for 2 reasons. (First is the main reason for the 3 stars) 1) The smell from the water from the sink/toilet was horrendous. The night we arrived, it was too late to do anything or go shopping so we went to the room and had a cup of tea/coffee. We had no choice but to use water from the tap. We figured that even if it's not as hygienic as UK water, it'll be fine once boiled. What we hadn't considered was the horrific sulphide smelling (rotten eggs) water - Usually a sign of water being stagnant and a blockage causing a bacterial build up - This made the toilet smell (without using it), the sink smell, and effectively the kettle smell. We believe that this may have been specific to our room/water tank as other guests didn't have it. (We're presuming the room hadn't been used for a while). We looked into making an official complaint and was advised to interact with the hotel first before contacting onthebeach properly. The frustrating part was the next day, we came back to the hotel after all day at the beach, instantly went to complain and Manish came up and the smell wasn't there (We think having a shower that morning may have dislodged something as the shower water was fine, yet toilet water still stinking) - He put some cleaning liquid in there anyway. We also went to the shop and bought hanging toilet fresheners. For a few days the smell went away, although occasionally got a small scent, but we covered it with perfume and some cleaning fluid the cleaners left. Each day the cleaners made the room smell nice too. Although once we opened the bathroom door the smell was still slightly lingering. Again, we sprayed perfume and we could just about cope with it. Thankfully the Aircon worked with the doo
