Hotel Plaza Omis

What a lovely town, Omis in Croatia is. From the start we were impressed with this seaside resort, with a beautiful old town to explore. Even in October, we were blessed with very good weather and high temperatures. We stayed at Hotel Plaza, Omis, which had just about everything you could need, however, no swimming pool, but then you don't need one, with the Hotel almost on the lovely beach. The staff were so helpful and pleasant. The beach is not the usual sand, further up the shore, rather a pea sized pebble shore. The sea is absolutely clean and clear. We liked the easy-going bars along the beach, where you can relax with your favourite tipple, or soft drinks. The hotel has a Jacuzzi and sun lounge on the roof, although we didn't try this facility. The food is the standard faire, with English and continental offerings for breakfast, on a buffet basis, as is the evening offering, though the hotel has a cocktail bar, and its own full service, al-a-cart offering at the Pirate Tavern, which is adjacent, offering European and Croatian dishes. At the time of writing, (October 23), there is civil engineering work been carried out on the harbour promenade, about 150 metres away, so did get noisy between the hours of 7:30 am and 3pm. (Excluding Sundays). If you can get a street side room at the front of the hotel, you can't hear the sound so much, though there is a school opposite which is slightly loud when the children are out. Hey, it's a town centre, so it's to be expected. Top Tip, keep the windows locked tight shut, or the air conditioning won't come on. Omis is a beautiful town with lots to see. Great bars, cafés and shops. We booked a 40-minute canyon river cruise up the Cetina River, which is stunning and well worth it. The best restaurant in our view is Cocopazzo Wine & Dine Bar in the old town.

This hotel is GREAT, there were a couple of ******* but absolutely nothing to complain about throughout. The really little ****** is that there was no way a typical British wine drinker could understand. the wine list. Some hints, for example - " somewhat like Bordeaux" or " similar to Chardonnay"would have helped a lot. Anyway, the hotel seemed quite happy to recommend wine. that cost less than the ones. I asked about. Our bed was two singles pushed. together with two duvets but it was comfortable and we slept well. That covers the *******! The whole hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room, with a side view balcony was spacious and well equipped. The bathroom was particularly large with space for lots of grooming stuff. We were on half board. The buffets gave lots of choice both for breakfast and dinner. For a small to medium sized hotel, the choice was vast. Hot food was at the worst slightly cooler than plate-served food.Mostly it was as it should be. Omis is a pleasant small town at the mouth of a scenic river and with nice beaches. Stay at the Plaza if you want to be in that area!!!

Room rather dark with water coming through the bathroom floor. Hotel apparently not aware of this when reported. Friendly staff. Food was good. Buffet style. Great location for looking around Omis. Near to beach, which is stony , old town and boats.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. We stayed half board. The food was excellent with a great choice for both breakfast and dinner. We caught the number 60 bus 4 euros each way into the beautiful city of Split and also a boat ride up the Cetina river 10 euros. Sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are between 7 to 10 euros each.

Stayed at this hotel in July , very clean and staff friendly and helpful. They booked us the Krka waterfall trip as we couldn’t find it available anywhere else , and also made us a breakfast pack up as it was an early pick up . They told us the times and where to catch the bus to Split. Breakfast was lovely and so much choice . Rooms quite small but very comfortable and clean . Definitely recommend this beach front hotel in such a good location for numerous bars , restaurants and shops

The Plaza Hotel is ideally located for anyone visiting Omis .The hotel has a patio like area which leads to the beach,you can use free sun beds and towels issued by the hotel or you can pay for sun beds on the actual beach .You are right in the town .The bus stop to Split is just around the corner and goes every 35 mins and same returning costing 4 euros each way.The buffet breakfast is fantastic with an excellent choice ,sets you up for a day of sightseeing or just relaxing on the rooftop terrace .

Outstanding hotel ticks all the boxes

Lovely, modern clean hotel with exceptional, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is situated right next to the beach which is clean and has several well priced beach bars all along it. We had a premium room and the view from the balcony was lovely. The breakfast is very well presented and has a huge choice. Seating for meals is spacious and well attended by staff for plate clearing. Sun beds for the outside area are available as are beach towels that can be collected from reception. The town is very nice, very clean and the old town area is beautiful. There is plenty to do if you want boat rides, tours etc however, also sitting drinking at the town bars/cafes is relaxing. We took a day trip to Split, which due to traffic took over an hour and a half. It was heaving and although Split was very nice, it was a nightmare getting there. Please DO NOT use the bus service provided by Promet Makarska. Awful service, late, very poor driving and a total disregard for passengers. (See my review). You’re better off taking the 60 bus or an Uber. We ate out every night and the food we ate was very good and very well priced. Lots to choose from. A very good week away in a lovely little, historic town on the Adriatic.

Nice hotel, very clean, food good. But location not quite on the beach. While the beach isn't far, the actual hotel is opposite a College & a nursery. The hotel is in the public park opposite, therefore while your trying to sunbathe outside the back of the hote of which they dont have parasols. l facing the sea, you are being surrounded by all locals, kids & students using the park daily. There is also building going on of a boat dock being built. So diggers etc daily. There iz a house in between the hotel of which a dog barks constantly. AND mist of all DO NOT pay the fortunate amount for a premium room with sea view & balcony. NOT WORTH IT. Would not go back to this hotel.
