They drove us to the starting point, and then we spent the day walking through the misty mountain paths, visiting nine of the most important temples on Jiuhuashan. It was magical – quiet, mysterious, deeply atmospheric. Our guide took wonderful care of everyone, explained so much about the temples, the mountain, the history, and the spirit of Dizang Bodhisattva, and created a sense of depth that went far beyond sightseeing. This was not a tourist activity. It was a spiritual and cultural experience – something you can only receive from people who truly love their mountain and want to share it with others. In the fog, among ancient stones, incense smoke, and the sound of footsteps on wet leaves, one begins to understand why Jiuhuashan has been a sacred place for centuries. I highly recommend Baofojiao Youth Hostel for solo travelers to Jiuhua Mountain. The rooms are very clean and odor-free. The bathroom has a smart toilet, and the cleaning staff keeps it spotless. There's a very friendly cat at the hostel; I heard it was a stray cat adopted by previous volunteers, and it's incredibly cute. The staff are also very friendly and patiently explain the Jiuhua Mountain itinerary. Sitting on the bench outside the hostel and just relaxing is especially comfortable.

We ate lunch and dinner there on our own. The service was also great! The facilities are a bit old, though.
