GGuest UserI came to Shanxi following the Black Myth route, and this homestay really amazed me! The night view inside Boya Residence is so photogenic that every shot feels like a blockbuster movie! It is one kind of scenery during the day, and it is another kind of scenery when you come back from the busiest main street and enter the courtyard at night. It is really beautiful, absolutely stunning. I took a lot of great photos in the courtyard, and I didn't have to retouch them. The courtyard was really comfortable and quiet. It was really leisurely to have a cup of tea in the courtyard and enjoy this moment of tranquility. Every detail in the room of this store is really pleasing. The beautiful boss will stand from the perspective of the guests to prepare everything in the room. This trip to Pingyao Ancient City is really worth it. When you come to Pingyao, you must stay in the courtyard of the beautiful sister's house, which is also an ancient courtyard with a history of the Qing Dynasty.

GGuest UserIt was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us.
The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places!
The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day.
We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

RRoshan_hotmailWe had a fantastic stay here, largely thanks to the incredibly helpful and kind host. The hotel is housed in a 300-year-old building, giving you a beautiful, authentic experience of ancient China, but the interior is fully updated and very calm.
Arrival and Service: The host is highly organized. They arranged a free shuttle to pick us up the moment we stepped out of the Pingyao Gucheng railway station, and provided a free drop-off when it was time to leave. Upon arrival, the host sat down with a map, clearly explained how to navigate the walled city, and gave us great advice on what to prioritize.
The Room: It looks ancient from the outside, but it is a spacious, spotlessly clean, modern hotel room on the inside. It features a large flat-screen TV and a smart voice-control system for the lights. The bathroom was immaculate and entirely modern, complete with an excellent shower and a heated toilet seat. I cannot believe they provide a room of this quality for such an affordable price. It is truly worth it.
Location & Breakfast: The hotel is in a very convenient spot inside the Pingyao city walls, just a 10-minute walk to the evening light show. Breakfast is included. Rather than a standard buffet, they serve a nice traditional set meal featuring millet porridge (xiaomi), fried vegetables, and eggs (see my uploaded pictures).
I highly recommend this place if you want top-tier hospitality and a clean, comfortable blend of ancient atmosphere and modern convenience.

GGuest UserMy mother and two aunts came to Shanxi for a trip before the May Day holiday, and their first stop was Pingyao Ancient City. When I started looking for a hotel for them, I immediately noticed Qianxiqing, which is very close to the North Gate of the ancient city. Its antique decor perfectly matches the characteristics of the ancient city. After browsing further, I found that the hotel facilities were very new and high-end, and they also offered services like station pick-up, so I decisively made a reservation.
On the day of their arrival, I communicated with the owner in advance. The owner was kind, amiable, and meticulously provided me with an introduction, and understood the details needed for the pick-up. For the pick-up, the owner personally used a Mercedes-Benz van, which was quite a high-class touch! Upon arrival at the hotel, he patiently and thoroughly explained the hotel's features and provided information about some attractions in Pingyao Ancient City. He even contacted me after my mother and aunts went into the ancient city to inform them about some things to pay attention to while exploring. He was truly thoughtful. The next day when they checked out, the owner personally drove them to the North Gate.
Even though it was a short stay of less than a day, it truly demonstrated the highly professional standards and warm, attentive service of this hotel, the owner, and their team. It made me feel incredibly reassured. The next time I bring my family to visit the ancient city, I will definitely choose this hotel again!

GGuest UserI stayed at the Tingbo Hotel, and the location is absolutely fantastic, right at the entrance of the scenic area. You can step out and start exploring immediately, which is incredibly convenient. The room was spotless, so clean you could see your reflection, and the bed was super soft – I woke up feeling completely refreshed. The front desk staff were wonderful, always patiently answering my questions, truly thoughtful. I especially loved the hotel's decor style; it's very unique. Every corner is meticulously arranged and looks amazing in photos. Plus, the hotel service was excellent; it was such a pleasant stay. The value for money at this hotel is incredible. The price wasn't expensive, but the service and facilities were outstanding. It felt like a great deal. The hotel is clean, and its location near the north gate of the ancient city means you can walk everywhere, which is very convenient. I'll definitely come back next time.

TTanluzheWsI am from Shanxi, and this time I went home to bring my father-in-law, mother-in-law and relatives from other places to visit. The boss is a local and very nice. It is his own inn, and the photos taken are very good, which can fully satisfy everyone's fantasy about Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. Great 👍. The first photo is inside the inn.

Mmaymaymay33A beautiful guesthouse, the rooms are beautiful too. Bed is big and comfy, very clean and the bathroom is modern despite how traditional the building is. Also has great heating if desired. The family that runs the guesthouse is so so sweet. Their food is also delicious and a great option for a quick breakfast (the buns are to die for). Excellent location. All in all would definitely come back and recommend this place.

GGuest UserI was very fortunate to choose Glory Homestay for my trip to Pingyao. Although it's outside the ancient city, it's incredibly convenient for getting around, just a 5-6 minute walk to the entrance, avoiding the hassle of traffic control within the ancient city. The room was clean and cozy, the bedding was so soft I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. The owner is a 20-year veteran who was incredibly welcoming. He not only helped plan the route but also recommended many local favorites. The prices were very reasonable, only a few dozen yuan – truly excellent value for money. I highly recommend everyone stay here!

GGuest UserPingyao Yundingxuan truly exceeded our expectations! This ancient courtyard, a former Shanxi merchant's residence, has an incredible atmosphere, perfect for amazing photos. The location is superb, right on West Street in the heart of the old town, within walking distance of 'Impression Pingyao' and all major attractions – super convenient for sightseeing and dining.
The hotel offers free pickup and drop-off at the city gate, helps with luggage, and provides thoughtful and attentive service. They patiently explained sightseeing routes and even assisted with discounted bookings for 'Impression Pingyao' tickets, saving us time and effort.
The rooms are clean and tidy, with soft and comfortable bedding. The courtyard is quiet and tranquil, making it a very reassuring stay for both elderly guests and children. The amenities are comprehensive, and the breakfast is authentic. It offers incredible value for money. It's definitely the top choice for family trips to Pingyao. Highly recommended; we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Pingyao.

AAnonymous UserWe ended our five-day trip to Shanxi and were very satisfied with Shanxi, especially this B&B in Pingyao Ancient City. After booking the room, we contacted the inn and reserved a parking space for us. We got off the expressway and arrived at the parking lot smoothly, and someone came over. They were very considerate in picking up my luggage. The location of the inn is very good, just at the intersection of the pedestrian street. It is not noisy at night and is very convenient for traveling. This is the most recommended one. The inn is a typical Shanxi courtyard house, just like living in a TV series. The courtyard is very comfortable, the rooms are clean and hygienic, and the service is excellent. I recommend everyone to stay here.
