GGuest UserA truly excellent stay! This Chinese-style courtyard hotel has so much character. The owner was incredibly welcoming with a big smile. I really appreciated that all the towels were disposable, which made me feel much more at ease using them. The location is absolutely fantastic – just a few minutes' walk to the heart of the ancient city. In the evenings, it was wonderful to simply wander through the old streets and soak in Pingyao's unique local atmosphere. Parking is outside the ancient city, but the owner arranged a shuttle service, which was very convenient. Breakfast isn't provided, but there are tons of restaurants on the street with very reasonable prices.

MM445315****Come to Pingyao to play, it is estimated that this is a newly opened hotel. The environment facilities have nothing to say. It is very clean and spacious. The hotel is convenient to go anywhere next to the ancient city. There are snack streets next to various restaurants to eat. The hotel service staff are also good. Everything is in place. Give me a good experience, and then Pingyao will live in his house! ! !

GGuest UserWe had the best stay at Elswhwere Hotel West Gate. The building is restored it the nicest way really gives you the feeling of timetravel. The people working in the hotel, were carrying and welcoming. They explained us how to navigate the city, helped us buy tickets for the city sights, recommend restaurants and we even got a room upgrade and lovely gifts to take home and remember our time in Pingyao.
The bed was so comfortable and we had the best sleep. Can recommend this hotel full heartedly. Would definitely come back! Thank you Helen and Fenny for making our stay so memorable.

The beautifully restored Qing-dynasty courtyard feels full of history, while the rooms come with modern touches like smart toilets, soft beds, and hairdryers. Everything is spotless, and the staff are genuinely kind and helpful. It’s slightly off the main street, which makes it quiet and relaxing, yet still within walking distance to all the sights. Even walking back at night felt completely safe — the city has such a calm and welcoming atmosphere. 💖

Mmaymaymay33A beautiful guesthouse, the rooms are beautiful too. Bed is big and comfy, very clean and the bathroom is modern despite how traditional the building is. Also has great heating if desired. The family that runs the guesthouse is so so sweet. Their food is also delicious and a great option for a quick breakfast (the buns are to die for). Excellent location. All in all would definitely come back and recommend this place.

GGuest UserWe stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property.
Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it
And it does feel and look like a traditional house.
You feel you are going back in time.
Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs.
He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city.
Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions.
Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him.
Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm.
On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour.
Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class.
The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved
The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk.
The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

GGuest Userlocation is perfect. Hotel is located in a beautiful building. Room was ok. Please note that the beds are really hard, especially for European people. I knew we had original kan beds, and expected them to be hard, but they were really really hard. Our kids were to tired and we let them sleep out a bit, so we skipped breakfast which was until 09:30. People worlking at hotel could be a bit more helpfull. The hotel itself is bigger then expected. If you go for teh scenic adventure, you can choose to stay here as the location is perfect. You also only need to walk like 20 meters max from the drop off point where no shuttle busses are allowed.

GGuest UserThis trip to Pingyao, I am very honored to choose the glory homestay. Although it is outside the ancient city, it is super convenient to travel. It takes only a minute to walk to the entrance of the ancient city, and it also avoids the trouble of traffic control in the ancient city. The room was clean and warm, the bedding was soft, and I fell asleep as soon as I touched the pillow at night. The owner of the homestay is a retired veteran of 20 years. The service is super enthusiastic. Not only does he help plan the route, but also recommends many small shops that locals often go to. The price is very favorable and only tens of dollars, which is really good value for money. I especially recommend everyone to stay and experience

PPanPivoI must highly recommend this wonderful hotel in the historic centre of Pingyao. The hotel is really authentic, well equipped, the room was beautiful and I didn't miss anything during my stay. The owner is very nice and helpful, he was able to help me with everything. The front desk is guarded by a small, beautiful dog who gives you a proper greeting. Everything is a short walk from the hotel yet it is in a quiet area where you won't be disturbed. Not choosing this hotel for my stay would be a big mistake. Thank you very much

Tento nádherný hotel v historickém centru města Pingyao musím vřele doporučit. Hotel je opravdu autentický, dobře vybavený, pokoj byl krásný a během pobytu mi nic nechybělo. Majitel je velmi milý a ochotný, se vším mi dokázal pomoci. Recepci hlídá malý, krásný pejsek, který vás náležitě přivítá. Vše je kousek od hotelu a přitom je v klidné oblasti, kde vás nebude nikdo rušit. Nevybrat si tento hotel pro svůj pobyt by byla velká chyba. Moc děkuji

GGuest UserA very unique courtyard B&B inn. The rooms are clean, tidy and antique. The inn is located on the West Street of the Old City. It is right on the pedestrian street. It is very close to the Rishengchang Bank and the county government. The boss is very enthusiastic and the service is very good. I will give you a tip in advance. We sent location navigation and helped us pick up and drop off our luggage from the parking lot 🅿️. They introduced the ancient city travel suggestions in detail and arranged an ancient city guide for us to have an in-depth understanding of Pingyao’s historical and cultural heritage. It was great [strong][strong ] [Strong] When checking out, the boss also gave me a souvenir from the ancient city - aged vinegar, which is very nice and worth recommending [Strong] [Strong] [Strong]
