Aomori City Hotels with Parking

This impressive old-style hot spring hotel is just outside Asamushi Station, a 3-minute walk away. The lounge offers welcome drinks, apple juice, and a coffee machine. In the evenings, there are several kinds of local sake and snacks. The shamisen performance is also quite unique. The large public hot spring bath is spacious and comfortable, with artistic wall decorations. Although the heavy rain prevented me from experiencing the advantage of the sea view room, the hotel was still a pleasant surprise.

This was my first time staying here. 34 years ago, I drove alone from Morioka, passing through the Oirase Gorge and visiting places like Hiba Senninburo (Cypress Bath for 1000 People), Jigoku Numa (Hell Swamp), and Manju Fukashi (a traditional Japanese manju dumpling). However, that day I was staying in Aomori. This time, my husband and I booked the Hakkoda Hotel for a relaxing stay. It's an old, historic hotel, so it does feel a bit dated, but it's clean everywhere. The staff were impeccable. The amenities are plentiful, and the thoughtfulness is evident everywhere, from the soft laundry bags and toothbrushes. Access to nearby areas is also easy with the shuttle bus, so it's not a hassle. The quiet environment was relaxing. I was surprised to see the first snow this time! But it was a great memory. I'm definitely planning to return next year, and plan a multi-night stay.

It is estimated that it will take about 10 minutes to walk from Asakusa Hot Spring Station. Facilities: Some are old, the air conditioner sound is particularly loud, if you mind, you should pay attention to the tatami and quilt sleep very well, it is this quilt is too short, or I sleep in fact, the back of the cushion, the cabinet seems to see the cushion and quilt, and pay attention to no bathroom, To take a bath in the public bathroom, you can soak in a hot spring (the hotel has a total of 25 rooms, don't worry about too many people, dirty or something) Health: The white socks I wore on the tatami were not dirty, but the shower faucet was a bit old and there was scale Services: The English service is an old gentleman, very tasteful, very polite, is to order the room service ~ for the Japanese, breakfast can be used for 1,500 yen, pay attention to the slippers in the room, I actually wear the shoes outside, the service staff reminded me, I don't understand the meaning, but the gesture should mean it. In general, if you want to experience traditional Japanese style, you can consider staying. There are paintings everywhere in the corridor and the atmosphere is very strong.

We stayed at Asamushi Onsen (about 20mins drive from Aomori downtown) as part of our 2025 Spring trip to Aomori area, and booked Tstsumikan Onsen hotel to stay for the night. The hotel location is great. I think all guest rooms come with open ocean view. No private hot spring tub in the guest room but the large gender-specific hot spring pools are open privately to the overnight stay guests from 8PM to the next morning. The stay comes with 2 meals. The food is good and the dinner was served directly in the guest room. The next morning Japanese breakfast was served in the great tatami dinning room, and the breakfast package even comes with free coffee in the gift shop café after the meal. The staff are warm, and the service is good. My recommendation to this hotel come with no hesitation.

Quiet. Nice staff. Loved having a free water bottle as a gift for not wanting my room to be cleaned every day. Really good location and Lawson on 1F. Key card is the cutest I have ever seen! (Window lower frame could do with some cleaning though and it is a pity window cannot be open to have some fresh air when it is cool outside - beats the sustainable logic behind less cleaning - same goes for the new cup and toothbrush everyday)

While this ryokan is not super luxurious but it is cozy, lovely ryokan with onsen including 3 private onsens. I stayed at Japanese-style room. It is a small room with a tiny bathroom and toilet. This place doesn’t offer dinner while breakfast can be ordered. There are many dining places and convenient stores in walking distance. The ryokan is just 100m or so from Asamushi station. Very convenient. It is just 20 minutes from Aomori city by train.

The hotel is directly opposite the aquarium and next to Asamushi Onsen. It's a 5-minute walk, and after a soak, there's a market selling all sorts of apple juice and fruit souvenirs. There weren't many guests staying at the hotel, probably due to the heavy snowfall in Aomori. Both breakfast and dinner were Japanese set meals. The sukiyaki and sashimi were excellent. It was just us and one other couple dining. In the evening, there was a Nebuta performance and sanshin (three-stringed instrument) music. Even with so few guests, the performers were incredibly dedicated and put on a great show. The large public bath is on an upper floor facing the sea, and the island and bay opposite are beautiful. The open-air bath also has two barrel-shaped tubs.

The facilities are a bit old, but the staff are friendly, the food is delicious, and the location is great. Definitely try the 550 yen breakfast. It's not fancy, but it's perfectly sufficient. In the evenings, they offer free gyudon or curry rice, which is also delicious. The bathroom and shower are small, but it's highly recommended to use the day spa across the street. If you bring the hotel's towel, you can access the open-air bath for just 480 yen. You're also allowed to bring in takeout food to eat during dinner. I highly recommend this hotel for solo male travelers.

On the first night of my arrival, I clearly informed the hotel staff about my dietary restrictions. I understood that they couldn't accommodate them that night, as the friend who booked the hotel for me hadn't notified them in advance. Afterward, a female staff member jotted down my list of restricted foods, and I expected them to be properly arranged for the second night. Unfortunately, on the second night, I still found food that I couldn't eat being served. When I pointed this out to the staff, they simply told me that their hotel couldn't accommodate such dietary requests for guests. If that's the case, what's the point of noting down a customer's dietary restrictions? And why didn't you communicate this clearly to the customer on the first night? After speaking with the manager, they eventually agreed to waive the dinner cost for one of us. The hotel is quite old, so the facilities are a bit dated, but still acceptable.

The hotel's location is quite good, within walking distance of Aomori Station. It's fairly decent for the price; the room was a bit small and dated, but still clean and comfortable. The free breakfast included was really good, plentiful and delicious. I'd likely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Aomori!
