Overall the hotel has beautiful grounds and great bones but it really needs TLC!! I am still here till the 6th April but unfortunately the main pool is green 🤮 and the other pool is being renovated. So disappointing. Our room is spacious but it needs new floors as they are all worn. We also have no seats on our balcony. The restaurant for breakfast is like a sauna, not pleasant at all and the chairs are extremely worn with stains over the fabric. So far the staff that we’ve interacted with are very nice and always smiling.

Nice hotel. A bit worn down, but good large territory and very nice staff. Extensive "kids' club" with dedicated pool and lots of video games. "Main" pool is also quite large and well kept. The nearby beach is a community beach, so can get a bit crowded (granted we were there in high season), but it does the job. Breakfast buffet was not appetizing, but okay if you stick to simple, local fare (rice porridge was totally fine, bacon / pastries not so much).

Stayed here for 3 nights in Jan 2024 - family of 4 with 2 kids. Overall the hotel is average with some good and some not so good things going for it. It's a relatively old hotel that has been through a few name changes and while a lot of the areas have been renovated, there are quite a few that need more up-keep. THE GOOD The staff were very courteous, enthusiastic and helpful. 5/5 to them. Whether that be the reception, the buffet breakfast, room service or staff looking after the hotel facilities (e.g. pools, kids play area etc), everyone greeted you with a smile and was very pleasant to deal with. The other thing that impressed was activities for kids and the play-room. The play-room was of a good size with plenty to keep kids of all ages busy. There was everything from a ball pit to gaming consoles, arcade games, board games and everything in between. Plus there were other games outside near the pool e.g. archery, darts, Jenga etc. In addition to that there were plenty of scheduled activities in the play-room and the pool area which very well coordinated by the staff. THE OK The buffet breakfast was average. There were a few options, but the quality could be better. More importantly for all 3 days the breakfast options were exactly the same. Some variety would have been appreciated. The room and the balcony were decent sized (1 King 1 Bunk family suite). But the floor of the room seemed dated and required a fresh coat of polish. Also more storage options would have been better. THE BAD The pools were very un-inviting. The hotel has 3 pools - none of them connected to each other in any way. In fact the kids' pool is on a different level. All that is fine, but the 2 pools barring the kids' pool had a lot of debris in them and even the colour of the water didn't look clean. Some serious work required there. The kids' pool was relatively clean, but you can't really swim in it as it is so shallow. More importantly, that one needed some maintenance around the tiling and grouting on the floor of the pool. One of the steel steps used to come of the kids' pool was not fitted properly and even wobbled under the weight of my 2 year old. The worst part was an unwanted feature in the room. There was a glass wall separating the bathroom from the bedroom. Whilst some part of the wall was frosted, a major portion wasn't. More than enough that if some was having a shower or sitting on the toilet seat doing their business, you could see them clearly from the bedroom (see photo attached). That could be a major problem if the room isn't being shared by close family or with elder children.

SCAM! DO NOT BOOK! We had booked this hotel and was requested to pay 3 times the confirmed booking amount the day before arrival or they would cancel! The reception stated that our confirmed booking was done before new years and they now had different pricing! DO ABSOLUTELY NOT BOOK!

If pools were clean and swimmable would make a big difference. All pools were disgusting and not usable! Advertises movies that they never show and kids club is pretty vacant (not somewhere id feel safe leaving my 5 year old or younger). Keys never seemed to work so spent ages waiting for someone to help at room and we had the family fun suite and there was nothing "fun" about it. On the main road, noisy, old yucky bunk beds and nothing that resembled fun even though the photos were very misleading and made you think there was. Staff kind but honestly IHG/Holiday Inn should do much better- thoroughly disappointed !

On the positive side our room was lovely. We booked a 1 bedroom villa with private pool. The room is very spacious, excellent bathroom with large shower and separate bath. The bed was really comfortable. The location of the hotel is decent with the beach just across the road. That’s where it ends. Our private pool was unusable. Initially the jets weren’t working, then when they tried to fix it we ended up with a pool of dirty brown water. The main pool looked to have some problem too, the water was always very cloudy, so we avoided going in it which was most unfortunate as we like to swim. Breakfast was included, we had it the first day and didn’t bother going back again. The choices are limited. The juices are from concentrate, the coffee out of an urn, dirty chairs, many things not replenished if you go during the last hour of service. It felt to us that they’d opened too soon. Staff seem very tentative, the bar staff bordering on clueless. Everyone is clearly trying to make an effort but the transition from the old owners to IHG doesn’t seem to have happened as easily and smoothly as I’m sure they’d like. The place still needs more work to renovate it further to being it up to IHG expected standards. All in all not great but I very much hope with time things improve.

It seems Holiday Inn JUST recently acquired Destination Resort, so I'm hoping upgrades are on the way because the hotel is in need of them. Everything was.....fine. Not impressive, but not the worst either. Our stay was fine as well. As mentioned, small details that really need fixing will go a long way. Nice spacious family room, but see through section on the glass separating the bathroom and main room (why??). Had to ask the staff to put up a bedsheet for privacy. One morning there was no AC/towels/water in the gym. Took a long time and sometimes several calls for extra towels to be delivered to the room. Three available pools were nice. The kids pool was well situated with a fun water slide. Located on a very busy road, so need to take caution when walking into town, which was fine on scooter, but with kids, would have been a hassle to walk/sit in traffic. Nice quiet north section of the beach is easily accessible right across the street. Some great restaurants on the back road nearby the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel back when it was a Novotel chain. It has many two-room rooms, which is convenient for families with children and those who love comfort. For some reason, rooms with a children's bedroom are now (after being closed for two years due to the pandemic) on the second floor. In principle, the entire infrastructure is good, several swimming pools, European breakfast, bathrobes, slippers in the room, comfortable bed, European breakfast. Only the hotel is still being restored after opening, there are not enough beach towels, you have to wait for them to be brought from the laundry, then somewhere something breaks. At breakfast there is no normal coffee from the machine. Colored hot water cannot be called coffee. And it would be nice to return the traffic controller who helped cross the road to the sea. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The staff tried very hard to solve all problems. Cleaning is done daily, there were no complaints about it

Unfortunately this hotel fell quite short of our expectations. I think Russians must have some deal with this hotel as its full of them, which I have no problem with, they are quiet and mind their own business. If you are paying full whack from a Western booking site though its unlikely you'll get good value. We booked two rooms for 6 nights as we had two young kids and this makes things more manageable. The first two rooms we were put in smelt really bad, a mouldy damp smell. Sheets felt damp, after some hours we notice our paper receipts felt damp. We tried to sleep in the room, but I noticed my throat started to become irritated, then I recalled the horror stories of how mold can kill especially bad effects for children. So at 3am I demanded we moved, or otherwise would have to sleep outside. They did manage to change room, which was better but very nosy directly next to the main road. They said we could only stay in that room for the night and would need to change again in the morning. Not fun after an already stressful journey. They really did try, they upgraded us to the villa rooms, which was very appreciated, hence the 3 stars, rather than 1. I think for what we paid, these rooms met value. However they still had maintenance issues, such as leaking water outside above the service cupboard and getting into electrics, the water meant the path outside was always wet. I told them several times but they said it was ok. The breakfast is disappointing, and staff generally seem overworked. The food prices look expensive, but then even more shocking is the double charge they add, service charge, and then tax on top of that, which is not the price you'll see in the menus for food or spa, etc. The kids club reeked of urine, and kids pool was question in this regard. We barely used any of the pools, and overall didn't use any hotel facility. We will not be back, and there are better places than this with better value and location in Phuket.
