We stayed at this hotel 2 years previously and thought a return trip was on the cards but unfortunately the standard had dropped. Check in took 30 mins due to workman and students waiting to pass through reception.

I’m currently here and my company has been good enough to put me up in this hotel whilst training. They only clean the room if asked and today I have asked after having only one clean in the last week and they are very reluctant to do it. I find this odd as if you were newly checking in the room would have to be cleaned. The level of service definitely declines if you are here a long time . They should offer discounts on subsequent nights if the level of service is not going to be with held throughout the stay. Otherwise no complaints

This is the most outrageous experience that I have had in a Premier Inn, indeed in any hotel. We pre-booked our overnight stay and arrived in the early evening. The receptionist was very helpful and informative ( we later discovered that CHARLOTTE was the duty manager) and she was very welcoming. Our room on the 4th floor was absolutely immaculate and not a sound could be heard from outside. We booked for an evening meal, and had a drink beforehand. So far, so good. We were seated at the table by ADRIAN, who was very polite, efficient and took our order as soon as we were ready. The meal arrived - prawn linguine and beef and ale pie - both of which were hot, edible and acceptable bar-type food. However, when we asked Adrian for further drinks, we were told that we would have to get up from our meal, make our way to the bar, wait to be served, then carry the drinks back to our table with its rapidly cooling food. Further, if we wanted a dessert, we should get up, go to the bar and order it. I have never heard of such appalling ‘service’ in my life - Alex Polizzi would be apoplectic ! I asked to speak with the manager and Charlotte came and spoke to us. I understand that this is a trial procedure but someone has failed completely to understand the reasons that the clientele choose to stay - in the majority of cases, the clients have travelled long distances, are tired, and are staying prior to catching an early ferry to France. They do not want to be shuffling around the bar, getting their own drinks while their food is getting cold. Who on earth thought this ridiculous scheme up? I would venture to suggest that the ‘higher management’ should listen to the clients and their staff and scotch this ******* procedure immediately. As it is, I will not be staying at Premier Inn again, until I can be assured that, as a paying guest, I will not have to do the work of the waiting staff.

Booked in here for work and I have to say it didn't get off to a good start. 1 person working on the front desk that took a long time to be seen. Once I got my key, got to the 4th floor to find the key didn't work, Had to re join the massive Que to be seen again to get the key resolved. Room was clean and what you expect. Breakfast was disappointing with luke warm food, no coffee cups as they were on most of the used tables waiting to be cleaned. They had one person that looked stressed running around trying to multi task. I had to wait a while to be ticked off the list for breakfast to be told I hadn't paid for it, Had to prove this to the server on my emails that took time again.

Premier Inn messed up our booking so instead of staying 2 nights as requested we were told 3 days before check-in that the 2nd night was not booked & the hotel was fully booked! So we had to find another hotel for the 2nd night - the day of my cousins wedding! We were so upset! Premier Inn refused to accommodate us at another hotel even though it was their fault/ error. We ended up paying for & staying at Marriot Hotel opposite - much better hotel & the staff & managers were so helpful & provided excellent service & the rooms were amazing! The Marriot hotel only cost £10 more - so definitely recommend it.

Love a Premiere Inn, you can’t go wrong. I know what to expect with the beds, room and cleanliness and receive it every time. Good location for Beefeater pub, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Costa, Greggs or groceries from nearby Tesco. All within walking distance. Would definitely return to this hotel if I was back in the area.

Good large Premier Inn with free parking. Excellent location for before or after ferry travel. Rooms sizable, well appointed and clean. Good bathroom with full bath. Inhouse restaurant for dinner and breakfast if required. Helpful and friendly staff.

We have stayed at this prem inn twice a year for the last 5 years & it has really gone downhill. Hotel was full but there was only 1 person serving at bar. There was no ingredients to make cocktails. Only 1 working ladies toilet that was filthy with no loo roll.

We booked the Premier Plus rooms. Spacious and clean. The staff at breakfast are friendly (we had Suzie who was warm and welcoming). Great choice in the buffet. Evening meals were good value for money and again really great service from the team (shout out to Jasmine and Suzie who were busy but very attentive and courteous). This is the second time we have stay here. Definitely recommend

We were welcomed by lovely polite and friendly staff members who were so professional and could not do anymore for you. The room was lovely a d warm plus plenty of space and an incredibly comfy bed. The walk in shower was amazing! And loved the little touches like water in the fridge, bayliss and Harding hand-wash etc, plus in the lobby you can help yourself to extra tea, coffee, milk and sugar which we were so grateful for as 1 cup is never enough! The room was spacious and quiet which helped us to jave the best nights sleep. The breakfast is just delicious with so much choice, freshly cooked and many options to cover all dietary requirements. Such great value for money and we love staying here!

We booked in via a portal at the door, which didn't register my car registration and it took 34 attempts to put my pin number in. The room was a Premier Plus, but was lacking enough towels, only one portion of milk, a poor selection of coffee pods, not enough tea bags or sugar. No telephone to contact reception, if you wanted food in your room you had to go down 4 floors to order it (I think that defeats the object!), the television is of poor quality along with the remote. And as you are paying for a better room, why are you expected to pay extra for decent WiFi. And the WiFi doesn't work downstairs in the bar or restaurant! Overall very disappointed.

Visited for business, quick and easy check in, convenient parking close to the reception and it was free which is a bonus and Thyme restaurant on site, didn’t had to leave the hotel. Had to move my room to ground floor due to walking difficulties and g think he was a manager Joshua helped me out and my luggage. Will choose this hotel again on my next business trip!

Checked in to hotel, requested to eat at 18.30. We were told its fully booked then can only fit you in at 19.00. So we agreed that time and decided to have a drink at the bar. It was 18.30 and there were several empty tables. NOT FULLY BOOKED AT ALL. whilst sitting there I overheard an old couple trying to book in and were told nothing available until 20.00 hrs. The old lady said it was to late and they both left. Shockingly the waitress laughed as they walked away. DONT BOOK HERE !!! Appalling painfully slow service.

The room itself was okay/passable. It was very noisy and staff shouting around 6.50 am outside(you could still hear it with fully closed windows) wasn't great. But the biggest annoyance was they advertise a breakfast until 1030. We had pre booked (and pre paid ) and got down there at 10.05 am only to be met by closed signs on the restaurant and a very rude (care less) staff member.
