First time visitor to Egypt, and loved every minute. The reception lobby is a big space, clean and tidy, although other parts of the hotel look a little tired, our room was spacious, with a good size balcony overlooking the 'quiet pool' away from the Aqua Park pool. The shower water pressure wasn't great, and the hotel did come and look at it, but nothing could be done to improve it. That said, it didn't negatively affect our stay. The bed was big and comfortable with plenty of pillows. We paid for WiFi (about a tenner) but it was a bit hit and miss, struggled to connect away from the reception lobby, I'd suggest getting an esim for the duration of your stay. We stayed for 10 days and the food was really good, if a little repetitive. The staff in the restaurant were great, friendly and polite.... the guys around the pool were brilliant and really looked after us, especially Ibrahim (the life guard/Freddie Mercury lookalike!) absolute gent, and a top man. If you stay around the pool you will be asked everyday about visiting the spa etc., but the guys are polite and after a little chat they thank you for your time and move on. Not rude at all. The beach was a 60 second walk, with beds and towels, as well as a bar and small dining area serving burgers and hot dogs. The location for us was fine. A few shops on site at the hotel, but also a small parade of shops at the gate. Plenty of taxis flying up and down the road, but a short 10 minute stroll and you will find more small shops as well as Arabbucks, and Motion bar/restaurant, both were great. There's a Hard Rock Cafe and McDonald's just a couple of minutes further, not that we visited either. The area wasn't too busy when we visited, but it was just before school holidays and as we left, it was beginning to get busier. Overall, the staff at the hotel were great, the location suited us, but Naama Bay and Soho Square are a taxi ride away, about 15-20 minutes. The food was good quality but a little repetitive, but certainly nothing wrong with it. The restaurant occasionally ran out of plates, cups, glasses but after a minute or two the staff had it sorted. The WiFi wasn't great, but you don't go on holiday to spend 2 weeks on your phone! The pools were decent, but we stayed around the quieter pools near the main restaurant rather than the Aqua Park. The weather was fantastic and foe the price we paid, absolutely nothing wrong with Regency Plaza.... if you want tk spend a couple of grand more to stay at another hotel in the same area you can do, but I don't think you'll get a couple of grands worth of difference.
