The St. Regis Qingdao

My stay at The St. Regis Qingdao this time far exceeded my expectations! The hotel's location is superb; it's within walking distance of the Third Bathing Beach. From the moment you open the door, you're greeted by shimmering sea views, each vista as picturesque and therapeutic as a painting. During my stay, Oliver's service was particularly warm and attentive. Upon arrival, he had already arranged a high-floor sea-view room for me. He meticulously explained the room's facilities and provided detailed information about local attractions and routes. When he learned I wanted to try local seafood, he thoughtfully recommended a highly-rated restaurant and even helped me make a reservation. Whenever I had a request, he was always quick to respond, from helping with ironing clothes to preparing a bedtime beverage. Every single detail was meticulously thought out and perfectly handled. A hotel that perfectly combines a superb location, breathtaking views, and exceptional service – I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Qingdao, and I will certainly recommend Oliver's excellent service to my friends!

My first time in Qingdao, and a huge shout-out to The St. Regis! The panoramic views from 369 meters high are absolutely stunning. It’s right next to the Olympic Sailing Center, so you can easily take in all the European architecture and breathtaking sea views. What's more, you get magnificent night views right from the comfort of your bed. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the 24-hour butler service was excellent. They even upgraded my room during check-in, and during turndown service, they thoughtfully prepared some lovely treats. The 'Show' restaurant on the 58th floor offered a rich and varied breakfast spread. My daughter and I particularly loved the sky-high heated infinity pool; it felt like it merged with the ocean. Swimming while enjoying the sea views was just so relaxing! Next time I'm in Qingdao, I'll definitely be staying at The St. Regis Qingdao again!

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, just across the road from the beach! We arrived a little after 1 PM and were able to check in immediately without any waiting, which was a great start to our stay. Our wonderful butler, Billie, was incredibly thoughtful. She arranged complimentary minibar access for us and was very prompt in responding to all our requests throughout our stay. Before we checked out, she even prepared a special gift for our child, which our little one absolutely adored! A particular highlight was that when we booked through the platform, we had a sea-view room for the first two nights, but a 'Cloud' room for the third as sea-view wasn't available. However, a lovely lady from the hotel's front desk proactively called us and upgraded us to a sea-view room, allowing us to stay in the same room for our entire stay! This saved us the hassle of switching rooms and moving our luggage, which was incredibly appreciated and definitely deserves extra points!

Upon arrival at the hotel entrance, staff immediately helped open the car door and assisted with our luggage. We were then escorted to our room by a staff member who thoroughly explained all the facilities. They had also thoughtfully prepared children's toiletries and disposable bath liners for us. When I felt unwell in the early hours, I called our butler, Oliver Cao, who provided incredibly prompt and helpful assistance, for which we are very grateful. The hotel's location and the views are absolutely superb!

On my recent trip to Qingdao, I had the opportunity to stay at both The St. Regis and Diaoyutai, and here's my combined review: 1. **Rooms**: While the rooms at The St. Regis aren't overly spacious, their layout is more thoughtfully designed and comfortable compared to Diaoyutai. The view from the window, in particular, is simply breathtaking – offering beautiful sea views by day and stunning city lights by night. Cleanliness was also superior at The St. Regis. 2. **Location**: The St. Regis boasts a prime beachfront location, with major attractions like the Third Bathing Beach, Badaguan Scenic Area, and the Olympic Sailing Center all within walking distance, making its location superior. Diaoyutai is about a 10-minute walk from the sea, placing it in a slightly less central area. However, it offers more dining options in the vicinity. For local specialties, there's a convenient supermarket on the basement level of Jinding Plaza, right next to the hotel. 3. **Breakfast**: The breakfast at The St. Regis was more extensive and of higher quality. The candy and ice cream were a particular hit with children, and popular items like smoked salmon and blueberries were always promptly replenished. In contrast, at Diaoyutai, some breakfast items often ran out if you arrived later. 4. **Service**: The St. Regis provided superior service. Their staff exhibited a strong proactive service mindset and their responsiveness was excellent. While Diaoyutai staff were helpful in resolving issues, their initiative wasn't as strong. There's a price difference of several hundred [RMB, implicitly] between the two hotels. If you're not overly concerned with the price, The St. Regis offers a significantly better overall experience.
