Ecotica Boutique Hotel

I took the executive members of my company to this resort for a retreat and wow was it amazing. Adult only resort, ****** and 2 Resteraunt’s on site one had live music. Not to mention this is in the heart of town so it’s easy to get to excursions! We will be back in Costa Rica for our second retreat at the end of this year and most definitely will be staying here again. You just can’t beat the experience.

Phenomenal! We rented a bungalow and I can’t believe what a wonderful time we had. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with smiles and made to feel like we were at home. Oliver, Eugene, and Monica did an amazing job of making us feel welcome and pampered our whole stay. Eugene greeted us with a delicious drink, and we appreciated that he remembered how we like our coffee. All three of them were so helpful. They told us where and when to look for animals, booked excursions and our transportation back to San Jose. The pool and entire property is well kept and clean. Our room was clean and updated and had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. The only small issue we had was that after the first morning we were not able to get coffee for the coffee maker in the room. The mattress was very comfortable. We spent a lot of time at the hotel because it was rainy season and we had a couple of good rains where we couldn’t get out a whole lot. Our deck was very well covered, and we spent a lot of time there reading, and just hanging out and checking out the surroundings, Breakfast was by the pool and very good! We saw so many animals from our deck and by the pool. There were monkeys near our room every night and a new bird or animal would show up every day - we saw capuchin and howler monkeys, deer, lizards, toucans and more. We saw more from the hotel than we saw in our national Park tour. The Bungalows really felt like they were built back into the forest, it was so unique. There were quite a few stairs to get to some of them, but they were not difficult to navigate. I am not sure about the hotel accessibility as we didn’t look at those. There is a great restaurant on site, YOLO, that has good food, fun atmosphere and seemed to have a good bar and had good live music nightly. None of the area is extremely walkable, but there is a small supermarket and some restaurants and a souvenir shop about a block distance that were easy to get to. One of those restaurants was Emilio’s Cafe. We heard it was great for breakfast, but we went for dinner and the food was fabulous. We are hoping to come back to the area and definitely will stay at Ecotica here again. It was a 24/7 Costa Rica experience here, you definitely won’t forget where you are.

Beautiful property, lots of wildlife as this hotel is right in the middle of it's own little jungle. While swimming we saw monkeys, parrots, lizards and frogs. The property is clean and very peaceful. It has a restaurant that turns into a bar with live music and ****** attached so there are options for nightlife. During the day it's quiet and serene. The included breakfast menu had lots of options from typical costa rican breakfast to pancakes and oatmeal. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, they were extremely helpful. Even when we were out exploring Manuel Antonio, I reached out via What'sApp and the front desk representative called taxis, scheduled transportation and even tours for us. The rooms are up a few levels of stairs and there is no elevator so something to take into considerations. The room was big and spacious, very comfortable. Nice clean beds and bathrooms.

We had a lovely time here. We would get up on the morning and sit in our rocking chairs in the morning and watch Toucans and Macaws in the trees above. We also saw Agoutis, Iguanas and Monkeys around the hotel complex. In the middle of town. Room was cleaned every day and also the breakfast was lovely as well as the friendly staff. Bed was comfortable in a good sized room. Tiny thing didn't like was an open shower but nothing is perfect

Beautiful place with an abundance of wildlife. The whole staff was so helpful especially Hilary who helped us daily with reservations and travel. Moses also made us feel very welcome right from the start. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

Beautiful hotel, room was lovely and comfortable. Some road noise from our room but it didn’t keep us up. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is exactly what we hope for when booking a boutique hotel: beautiful property with unique touches and fantastic personal attention from staff. It is a quaint property with a few short walking paths through beautifully maintained private jungle. We sat by the pool for hours watching monkeys, macaws, and basilisks. The pool bar had fantastic mojitos and pina coladas, along with pizza for a convenient lunch option. Our room was clean and well maintained. The restaurant on premises is a lively American-style sports bar; we enjoyed watching an American football game there, but would have appreciated more local cuisine options on the menu. Depending on where your room is located, it’s possible you may hear some noise from the restaurant bar in the evening, and expect to hear some wildlife. The concierge at the front desk was incredibly friendly and gave us some tips for visiting the nearby park. Be aware that it is a long walk to the beach and some of the road does not have sidewalks. All in all, fantastic experience here!

We really enjoyed our stay. The resort was nice. The room was very specious and clean. They even let us enjoy amenities of the resort beyond check out .we could store our luggage’s in their locker room and still be able enjoy the beach for the full day. It was bit pricy but everything else just great.

Great location. Close to many restaurants and other points of interest. Very eclectic hotel adjacent to the jungle but like many MA hotels lots of stairs . The staff was very nice . Overall it was a great value and a experience.
