Terrible experience. We were greeted by a male receptionist (Sundeep was his name I believe). He asked for the name of the booking, then gave us the room keys. We went to the room and fell asleep at 10 pm. At around 10.40 pm the same receptionist came to our room and woke us up. He knocked and shouted that he does not see the reservation. My mother asked if this could wait till the morning. He said no. Half-asleep, I dressed up and showed the ******* confirmation. He nodded and went away. However, I did not feel safe to do so - what kind of hotel/BnB does such things? Surely the receptionist could have checked everything before handing us the keys or at least wait till the morning, as this was during the legal non-disturbance time. I am not sure if he was drunk or simply careless, inconsiderate and violating the guest-host agreement.
The walls were thin, we could hear what other guests were doing next door which did not help to fall asleep.
Could not take proper shower due to outdated shower head and insufficient water flow. No hot water out of our bathroom tap. Insufficient amount of hand soup.
Both my mother and I are vegans. The BnB advertises that they provide full English breakfast. Fine, we were not expecting big effort to cater for us, as it's a small BnB. We asked the lady who was serving breakfast to just omit the meat and eggs. But the scarce amount of other ingredients clearly stayed the same as in the usual meal. Ok but maybe not the most welcoming thing?
