Hotel Bohinj

Very pleasant eco hotel with cool and spacious rooms ( with great Aircon -much needed given the warm weather). The rooms were new with good bathroom and shower. The staff at reception were super. Breakfast was very good. The reasons I am giving 4/5: the building work at the entrance and in front of the restaurant was unpleasant and the restaurant was too warm ( it might be due to a design issue as the Aircon inside couldn't work because the bar staff kept the doors open to serve people in the garden). This was the reason we didn't have dinner at the hotel,which was a pity. We booked direct months in advance and we're not made aware of the building works,while this is now mentioned on their website. A small improvement: add body lotion to the provided toiletries, mainly for people like us who travel light ( hand luggage).

This is a beautiful hotel. I imagine in winter it would be a delight. In summer it is a heat trap. The eco friendly evaporative cooling was not up to the job. The in room hotel info even suggests that the wooden rooms retain heat so keep your curtains closed and open the windows at night to cool the room. Not ideal to let the mosquitos in. And as we booked a corner suite with a view it was wasted as we had the curtains closed the whole time in an attempt to cool the room down. So I warn you - if you love putting the air con on 18 and having a very cool room in summer this hotel is not for you. If you don’t mind open windows and a warmer room in summer go ahead and stay here. Aside from the heat ( which I acknowledge is partly my preference/issue) the hotel was great. Food in the restaurant was delicious. It was in a great location right next to the lake which was pleasantly refreshing to swim in. The area itself was beautiful and worth of at least a three night stay. The outside bar garden was a lovely place to spend the twilight hours, and on one night we were lucky to see the Slovenian pop band Booom! playing an acoustic set at the garden area. Thanks to our English waiter kept us supplied with food and drinks . The wellness area was relaxing and the massage we booked was amazing! So in summary a really excellent quality hotel in autumn, winter and spring… and possibly summer too depending on your air con preferences.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff and very clean. Great breakfast, cosy atmosphere. Location is great, near lake Bohinj. Hotel has a wellness and free parking for car. The room is spacious and comfortable. The bed is also comfortable and I recomended.

We loved everything - from the atmosphere, extremely kind staff, delicious food and relaxing spa. Our room was gorgeous, clean, had the most beautiful view and offered everything and more. The bed is extremely comfortable and the interior is stunning. The breakfast buffet offers delicious local food that will satisfy even the pickiest eaters. We strongly recommend!

We celebrated our daughter’s first birthday. This hotel was the best choice. It isvery cosy surrounded by incredible nature. The room was very big. And the breakfast and spa excellent. The stuff is very polite . I loved the fire place in the lobby

Beautiful hotel very close to the lake. The incredibly vast breakfast spread was a highlight of the stay. There are nice areas to sit, including the lobby and the outdoor fire pit. We stayed in a comfort double, which was very spacious and included a sitting area and small workout area with equipment. The room also had a balcony, but the view was the parking lot and there was loud construction, so we didn't end up sitting out there. Speaking of the construction, there seems to be a new, related hotel going up directly next door. The spa was originally a draw for staying here, but we ended up not using it. We went down to relax in the whirlpool and found it surprisingly lukewarm. The staff said it is about 32 C and yes that temperature is on purpose and not a malfunction. The spa also has a sauna and steam room - which I am not a fan of, but if you are, then the spa should be just fine for you. In summary, the stay was overall positive and I would actually stay here again, but would inquire about construction first and would consider the spa irrelevant for my needs.
