Hotels in Lapa, Rio de Janeiro

The hotel facilities are relatively old, but overall clean and tidy. The swimming pool and gym on the rooftop are very good. What's more interesting is that the 10th floor and above are in the mode of 1+x instead of directly with numbers. The breakfast is very rich and tastes good. The attitude of the front desk is very good. If you speak slowly, there is no problem communicating in English. In addition, the hotel has a cooperative tour group, which can be joined by booking one day in advance. It is very suitable for travelers who go to Rio alone but are not brave enough to travel alone due to language and safety issues. There are two police stations near the hotel, and there is a Chinese restaurant about 3 minutes away from an intersection. Very good. The statue of Christ the Redeemer can be seen from some hotel rooms. There are many bars nearby, so try not to travel alone at night.

Fun and lively hostel with a really nice rooftop bar. The breakfast is very small and overpriced but friendly reception and big kitchen

We booked two rooms with the hotel: a junior suite and a standard. The suite was very spacious and opened up to the street. The windows did a good job of blocking sound so the street didn’t disturb our sleep at night. They had a parking garage that charges R$33 per day and was able to accommodate our Jeep Commander. What is warranting this poor review was the hotel staff. Upon check-in they had informed us that one of our rooms wasn’t paid for even though i had already been charged by the booking agency. He said that we had opted for pay later and they hadn’t received the payment from the booking agency. I told them that my card had been charged by the booking agency but he insisted that it was likely a hold on the card to secure the room. I’d suggested to call the booking agency but he insisted that it wouldn’t be necessary (he didn’t seem worried so I assumed he had experience with this). Come to find that I was charged twice for this room and the booking agency has been trying to get in contact with the hotel for over a week with no response. This seems like FRAUD. The second issue. Upon checkout of our suite, the lady checking us out requested a gratuity payment for the included breakfast… she estimated that based on the value of their breakfast that the suggested 10% gratuity would come out to R$180 per person. That would make their self-service breakfast be valued hire than Michelin restaurants in the area. She tried to ask the other party that was traveling with us but when I came closer she gave up. I’m wondering if this is hotel policy or if the staff at this hotel are actually running scams from the front desk. I am still trying to get a hold of them about the double charge.

Great hotel with restaurants and shops nearby. The selaron steps, pyramid cathedral etc are 10-15mins walking distance from the hotel. Fantastic staff at the hotel who are super helpful and informative. The room was big and clean, with a street/city view, and the shower room was a little on the small side but functional. Breakfast at the hotel was decent with a range of options available. I’m a vegetarian and had enough to eat. The hotel provides free coffee and free fruit infused water downstairs in the lobby area, which is an added bonus. A taxi from the airport to the hotel, and back again, should only cost you 70 riais at most each way, which was around £12/$14/€15. Would defo recommend this hotel. Thank you again :-)

The hotel is perfect for anyone who wants to be in the center of the lapa. Breakfast with varieties, clean room, small porwm pool good, wonderful game room and sensational and welcome service. I will come back more times

Four different from those reserved by the app. And even though the reservation is for a couple. I had to pay an extra fee for the 2nd guest.

Good location and well organized, but in the room we stay the Wi-Fi did not work well, the connection falls all the time and the cellular network signal is not so strong.

It was everything great but the bedroom. It had got a bath in the middle of the room.
