Our first time to Lake Garda as a couple in their mid sixties who love holidays. Booked with TUI and couldn't fault them tbh, flight was a bit late both ways due to air traffic control. Rep met us at the airport and accompanied us to the hotel where she was also the hotel rep, lovely girl, Frieda. Coach transfer was just about an hour with a couple of drop offs on the way. Very quick check in, disappointingly no welcome drink or much information given out about the hotel so did attend the welcome meeting. I'd say English made up around 25 to 30% of the guests with food and entertainment definitely more aimed at the German guests. The food was good although again no cava, smoked salmon at breakfast which we have always found in other hotels we've stayed at. You chose your evening 3 course meal from a menu left on your breakfast table each morning and you were allocated a table on arrival which you had for the week. Ours was next to a lovely german couple but with the language barrier, we missed evening chats with other guests at dinner. Our table was also close to a fairly big drop so my husband took that chair as I was worried about moving back and falling off. We enjoyed the food but it wasn't always to our taste and not easy to identify from the menu. We loved the walk along the lake into Riva which took around 20 to 25 minutes depending on your pace. Riva itself is absolutely beautiful and we took the ferry to Limone and Malcesine. Do ask reception for the travel card which gives you free bus fares on some routes, free entry into the museum in Riva, discounted ferry tickets and free ride on the Bastione scenic lift. We didn't realise about the lift and paid 16 euros and had a drink at the restaurant at the top with amazing views. We also visited the museum which we enjoyed. Weather was fairly good most days but we did have some poor weather which was disappointing as we missed the fireworks and festival which was due to be on during our last evening. Also they had closed a large part of the river walk access which was a shame. The pool and bar area is lovely although I agree that there are a lot of broken sunbeds which could soon be put right, never had a problem getting one. There are lots of insects because of the grass and we did both get bitten. Drinks are expensive in my opinion, especially wine in the evenings which started at 22 euros a bottle. We just had a half litre of the house white or rose for 9.5 euros which was just about drinkable. Annoying they switch off the water tap in the evenings so you have no option but to pay for water so it adds up. The best part of the hotel was the staff, the worst was the awful entertainment. Mostly it was a keyboard player except for the first night Maurio and his daughter sang together and they were really good. By night 10 I was bored and it was pouring so no chance of a walk into Riva either. We did venture in one night and again only a keyboard player in the saure so

Had a wonderful time at the Savoy Palace, rooms are comfortable our room had a balcony with Mountain View. All the staff were courteous and attentive, the food was first class as were the drinks with an added bonus of an afternoon happy hour. It was a twenty minute walk into the town were you can catch the ferry to different locations around Lake Garda, Limone was fantastic very picturesque. Plenty of restaurants and bars dotted around the old town. There was entertainment of a night at the hotelwhich appealed to many people. Yes, I met Mr Tonelli who was often around the restaurant and bar and was invited to see his prized Ferrari. We had an enjoyable time at the Savoy Palace and would recommend this hotel, would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel. Lovely room. Bed hard. Only 1 member of staff, a waiter at breakfast and dinner, was attentive and really good. Got a few rude bar staff. Entertainment same every evening. It was ok but would have liked a change. Just needs a twerk to make it a good stay.

The Savoy was lovely, welcoming and had great amenities and a terrific breakfast. The lake was an easy walk from the hotel. I would happily stay here again.

Booked as part of a Riviera Trip and chose a superior double. Allocated a family room on the top floor at the back overlooking pool and hills. Large balcony with 4 chairs, table and sun longer. Only issue was a small children’s fairground alongside the pool area (not hotels) that belted out very loud music late afternoon and evening making sitting in the balcony impossible. Very large room with large double bed, single bed and sofa bed. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, 2 TV’s, safe and fridge. Bathroom very big with 2 sinks. Several lifts to all floors. Very big hotel with 2 dining rooms, large bar and outside patio area with live music every night. The outside pool has approx 200 sun beds so plenty to go round and the pool is large. Fine selection of cold buffet for breakfast together with omelette and egg station alongside bacon selection. Plenty of breads, fruit, cereal coffees , juices and preserves. Evening meal though was very disappointing and some of the food was inedible and tasteless - good job there was always a good selection of pasta on the buffet bar. Service at the bar was very very slow and being sat on the patio area was impossible to get served *** The patio area was swarming with mosquitoes at night. ****. 20 minute walk from the hotel to downtown with huge selection of bars and restaurants. 200 yards from the hotel on the main street is a big CoOp with cheap bees and spirits and crisps etc. Overall not a bad hotel in a good location with friendly staff. Marked down owing to bad service.

Great Room, very good beds, great food, great pool with lots of available sunbeds, friendly and helpful staff, very good for kids. Definitely one to stay at again. And then again. Well done Mr Tonelli. Only areas for improvement that I can see: - starters and main courses were sometime incorrectly labelled with the 'veggie' sign. But there again that's common in Europe. Nothing marked 'vegan' even though some courses were. ('Choose your own' salad bar was brilliant!) - not good on the environmental front - all those white cloth tablecloths being constantly changed, no recycling bins visible in the hotel or its grounds, those pesky energy-using 'minibars' in rooms (what's wrong with a single vending machine on each floor?) But nevertheless A GREAT HOTEL!!

Went the Savoy Palace in May for 3 days. We loved it so much that we went back in August. The village is beautiful and just over the road from the hotel there is an ice cream shop that do the most amazing ice creams. The rooms we had were on 4th floor and had a great view of the lake
