Howard Johnson by Wyndham Hartford South – Rocky Hill

Wonderful reception and newly renovated room. The owner checked us in and guaranteed we would be very happy with our room. We were, brand new Vynal click floor that was very comfortable and clean to walk on. The bathroom was also newly renovated. The bed I wanted to take home with me. We had our yellow lab with us and he was also made very comfortable by the owner. We were only passing through and looking g for a good rest which we certainly received. We will definitely stay next time on our way to Florida. Thank you

It was a nice stay, no real issues except they never returned my 50 security deposit, which ill have to contact Capitol One

Dirty, stinky, old, extremely old, for full price- cannot believe Windham allows such a poor quality motor inn- my kids are disappointed which always frustrates the guy paying. Falsely advertised

The room we were in was newly renovated and was beautiful!! You could still smell the fresh paint. It was super clean, fresh and comfortable. The guy at the front desk was very pleasant. Highly recommend.

Queen smoking. Nice clean stay. Quiet Property. Bedding (comforter) could be better but they are renovating so hopefully new bedding in smoking rooms are coming soon.

Pretty run down and spare. However, it was clean and everything in the room seemed to work, such as the lights, TV, micowave, etc. However, if you are just looking for a low price place to crash for the night, it will do.

To begin, the type of lodging was not a hotel it is a motel. I feel like the photos and the descriptions were misleading. The staff here were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our check-in was incredibly fast too. However, the property itself is a little run-down with dumpsters sitting outside, paint cans and other supplies laying on the steps. The rooms were also not great. They felt dirty and there were hairs on the bathroom floor, shower, and sink. The corners of the carpet and the room were also not cleaned. The bed was absolutely the worst part of it all. They have it sitting on a metal base and every single time you move it sounds like an empty metal filing cabinet popping. The mattress was also lumpy and just very uncomfortable. As for safety, I'm not familiar with the areas surrounding Hartford, and I really don't know what it was, but it just felt unsafe. If you are staying for one night passing through, it's not bad. I thought we were getting something better for the ratings and how much we paid (which for a motel, I definitely think was too pricey), but again for one night it wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed.
